Somehow, all the X military experts and pundits regularly choose to ignore my calls to join the National Guard and actually do something for national defense. It is full of smart guys in their prime here, but somehow they avoid the question of whether they themselves are ready to actually do something. https://t.co/3UMJh7u9eH

Strengthening the role of the Russian language in Uzbekistan with Latvian taxpayers' money. That is exactly what has happened with the co-financing of €11,734 granted to the association Centre Marta by the Society Integration Foundation (SIF). The project's aim is 'to promote the involvement of Latvian civil society organisations and strengthen capacity in an international cooperation project focused on preventing gender-based violence and developing a support system in Uzbekistan, providing methodological tools and training to local NGOs and other interested partners to improve the identification, support and social integration of victims of violence.' The project was implemented in a multilingual environment, and the methodological (!!!) and informational materials are available in Russian and Uzbek. So the methodological materials are in Russian. At a time when Latvia's budget lacks funds and we cannot always help our own people, the presence of the Russian language is being increased in Uzbekistan at the expense of the whole society. This case once again shows that the SIF should actually be liquidated or seriously reformed, and things cannot continue as they are.

If the Minister of the Interior sees a threat to state security and public order, he should not avoid responsibility but act. The Minister of the Interior must annul the temporary residence permit, include [the person] on the list, and deport [them]. See Section 104, Paragraph 3, Clause 2 of the Immigration Law. https://t.co/Rb3inoB7k3

Given that the Ministry of the Interior has issued a residence permit in Latvia to the Russian citizen mentioned by the minister, the decision is within the competence of the Minister of the Interior under Article 104 of the Immigration Law. I would advise the minister not to evade responsibility a few days before the elections. https://t.co/Xy9iPTWdbQ

In the Ragozina case, the question is simple: is Latvia ready to say politically that a person who systematically disseminates messages favourable to Russia and discredits Ukraine is not welcome here. Such a decision is within the competence of the foreign minister and is not appealable, unlike an entry ban, which would be within the competence of the interior minister and is appealable. When loud headlines and quick publicity were needed, there was no problem quickly adding hockey players, musicians and who knows what else to the list (and rightly so!). Meanwhile, when it comes to a person who for years has legitimised the aggressor's foreign policy from Europe and burnished its image, a strange blindness and faint-hearted buck-passing suddenly set in. If the Foreign Ministry is satisfied with Ragozina's activities and statements so far, just say so openly. Blaming the interior minister for shirking responsibility at a time when they themselves are afraid to use the powers clearly delegated by law is simply a sign of weakness.

For four months I have been raising this issue with you and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that, according to the assessment of the competent authorities, this step must be taken by the foreign minister under the conditions of Section 104, Paragraph 1, Clause 1 of the Immigration Law. If you have an assessment from even one competent authority that the interior minister can include this particular person on the "black list", then send it to me. I will gladly do it already today! However, as far as I know, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not have such an assessment that the aforementioned person can be included on the "black list" by the interior minister.

Latvia's future starts with young people's opportunities today! 🚀 First job. Affordable housing. The chance to safely plan a family. These are the foundations for a young person to begin an independent life and build their future in Latvia. THE UNITED LIST has concrete solutions: a 10% micro-enterprise tax rate for individuals, housing grants, state guarantees and rental housing programmes for young families, as well as the opportunity to work while on parental leave without losing the child-raising benefit. And one more important thing. Young people must be not only recipients of policy, but also its creators. That is why youth initiatives and real opportunities to participate in decision-making must be strengthened. Youth opportunities are a matter of Latvia's growth and future. Video: LTV platform 16+. Here is a quote from the 4 November 2025 press release after the Cabinet meeting: The informative report supported by the Cabinet today also provides for a reform of fee service price lists. It is planned that the Cabinet will create a unified service catalogue and methodology, while fee service price lists will henceforth be approved by heads of institutions in the form of a general administrative act. To introduce such a solution, amendments to the Law on Budget and Financial Management still need to be made. Until now, the Cabinet decided on the approval of each fee service price list separately.

It was Siliņa's government that already agreed to cancel it at the Cabinet meeting on 04.11.2025. Here is the press release from that very meeting. It was one of the hobbyhorse topics for reducing bureaucracy for both Kronbergs and Siliņa – that price lists and the like should no longer be brought to the Cabinet. And already at the beginning of this year, amendments to the Law on Budget and Financial Management came into force providing for that. Then the Cabinet regulations accordingly had to be adjusted; they were developed already during Siliņa's government and voted just after Kulbergs took office. Kulbergs' fans' ability to pass off other people's work as their own is noteworthy.

@JurgisLiepnieks In fairness, it must be said that it was precisely the Kulbergs government that cancelled the approval of price lists with one of its first decisions.
