It turns out that that ZZS contender, who yesterday at the “Fokuss” platform’s youth debate sang from the progressive songbook, is the same one who three years ago called Italy’s Prime Minister Meloni a little fascist on LTV.
Three years have passed, but they haven’t gotten any better. That is the result of non-ideological parties simply recruiting “enterprising and active” young people (because their image needs young people), while state funding is not wasted on any education of theirs.
To be fair, as a big Meloni fan, I must say no great harm was done there. The young person was only disgracing himself. He’ll come to his senses soon enough. The moderator was clearly uncomfortable. If we are against this kind of mumbling, then why shouldn’t “they” be against “our” crackling?
Yesterday we were in Valka, but today we are in Rēzekne. Thank you for the great support we feel in conversations with people! ASL - 12th list! Uncomfortable for the authorities - needed for Latvia! https://t.co/F6fZGxVRKd

@JanisIesalnieks This is not so clear-cut, Janis. If migration is pragmatically and wisely combined with tax, investment and social policy, then a fairly good result can be achieved in the long term. Is Ireland a good example? If there are excesses, then Malmö and Paris No.2😔
The claim that immigration ensures GDP growth is total nonsense. Moreover, Western European experience shows that immigration from barbarian countries places a huge burden on the budget. As a result, local residents are punished twice - paying with their taxes for their own replacement. https://t.co/QxOzpOTA0B

@IvetaR4 Reading these progressive-ideological comments, I can’t help thinking how contradictory they are. The Pro message says one must accept diversity without belittling others. Choices are also diverse. Where would @AndrisKulbergs belittle OM, knowing the guest’s context?
You can move a person from a car lot to the Cabinet of Ministers, but it is much harder to remove the car lot from the person’s consciousness. https://t.co/u1IivmhHxV
In Latvia, in Latvian and for Latvian patriots. Against immigration, for a Latvian Latvia. For the Latvian language. For an increasing number and share of Latvians in Latvia. 🇱🇻

This girl is an excellent example that language is essentially the cornerstone of integration. No one in Latvia is or will be denied the right to speak their native language in personal life, as some pseudo-politicians smear. I respect this girl and others who express such a stance. Thank you! https://t.co/NPCPdrbAGl
🇷🇺 Russian-origin girl Alyona: we are all united under the Latvian language! Rosļikov, LPV, progressives, stop dividing us into two languages. Only under one language is love between us possible! Do you agree that it's time to restrict extremists who want to divide the country into two languages? This is not Russia!
But... for the first time in my conscientious (long and error-prone) life as a voter, I will vote for @Jauna_Vienotiba, because in my opinion no one has even nearly a better candidate for foreign minister than @Braze_Baiba. And, in my opinion, that is currently 10 times more important than anything else https://t.co/lOYMwI1MS0

In 2024, the Saeima rejected establishing criminal liability for cartelists: 42 for, 48 against. Two years later: 68 for, 12 against. Thanks to the deputies of @Apvienotais_ and @ZZS_ who have changed their position. I hope that after the elections it will not change and the adopted amendments will not be repealed. https://t.co/2K2Olz3hNE
@Krusts3 What nonsense one can spout! - because one option is enough! - reduce and eliminate the bureaucratic apparatus of state administration, reduce, eliminate and freeze its relentless appetite. If that is not enough, there are appropriate articles of the criminal law on misappropriation of state funds on a large scale.
By the way, statistics measure the Gini income inequality index as it would be without any social transfers. In Latvia it would be 47.7, which is equivalent to the EU-27 🇪🇺 average level. So in Latvia, the impact of social transfers is a reduction of the Gini index by 12.2 points. If you compare this reduction with other countries, in Latvia it is the 3rd lowest among EU-27 🇪🇺 countries. In other words: in Latvia, welfare policy in reducing income inequality is one of the weakest in the EU27.
💚 Thank you for the high rating. We take it as a responsibility to continue working.
The Association of Economists has evaluated parties' economic programmes, their ability to offer concrete answers to the challenges of Latvia's economy, as well as leader and expert teams.
📈 We are glad that the New Unity offer and team received a high rating in this assessment. Special mention was given to the professional and international experience of our people, as well as experience in various economic sectors. Also, our prime ministerial candidate @aseradens's strengths in the assessment are experience in sectors, professional development and international experience.
At the same time, the Association of Economists also points to shortcomings in parties' proposals, including the need to balance plans much more precisely with the state's financial possibilities. We take that seriously.
A good rating is pleasant, but most important will be the ability to turn plans into real work for the growth of Latvia's economy.

I think the indignant ones haven't even been to the Riga Motor Museum. It's not about engines at all. Its exhibition is also a kind of occupation museum. It covers the interwar Latvia's flourishing, the occupation era, and communist leaders. Yes, through cars, but it's Latvia's story. Go see it.
Voika, who always voted pro-Kremlin in the 13th Saeima, is asking for an exhibition that should be shown at the Occupation Museum: Briškens, Simanovska, Švinka, Bonadara, Kažoka, and others — their fathers' KGB files next to their plump faces in the Saeima and other state-funded institutions. Right next to that, Voikas and all AttīstībaiPar votes defending Colorado and Russian orcs. It's a pity that the current management of @okupacijas_muz is afraid to hold exhibitions about collaborators.
Independent experts are not only another mockery of the people, but also fraud. An 'independent expert' whose fee, board seat, or next position depends on Unity and on whether the state remains 'big' is not independent. The association of economists, PwC, FICIL, Amrop, the Fiscal Discipline Council, Providus, boards of state capital companies - that is a food chain.
