From@agris_krustsI reviewed the parties to vote for. My requirements: small state administration, personal freedoms, low taxes, less regulation for business, a strong and large army. None of the old parties fulfills even one of these requirements. I almost want to vote for ASL, which promises much larger armed forces — maybe it will still get into the Saeima and split its composition.

From@asspankulis@aiga_balode @austsaule @partijaMMN I decided that I will vote for ASL.

From@AinavaP@Jaglinskis @NormundsKuplens Very many people will vote for ASL! They shouldn't be rated so low. And there is no need to belittle your choice;) People are finally fed up with voting for those who always let them down!

@ImantsIB Standing up against what others want. They kept telling us all along that we couldn't do it! We won't collect, won't establish, won't submit, etc. We don't listen to that. We go our own way!
From@ImantsIB@lindberga22 How can the national question and loyalty to the state be raised to the highest point after the restoration of independence, if the World Economic Forum, Soros NGOs and the European Commission have set the goal of destroying nation states, the classical education system and the normal family?!

@EgonsMudulis @austsaule @VL_TBLNNK No self-respecting person answers such loaded questions. All the best.
From@EgonsMudulisTell me, @RaivisZeltits, why should I vote for @austsaule rather than for Latvia's co-embezzlers @VL_TBLNNK, if you have neither the courage nor the desire to talk about his corruption and that of the rest of the political elite? The fake national conservatives at least have a better chance of getting into the Saeima. https://t.co/THgzDkOsC4 https://t.co/X8JAuBhHSi

From@IISS_orgNATO European 155mm-ammunition-production capacity has increased fivefold since 2022 and will more than double again by 2030 if current plans are realised. The scale of demand is reflected in companies’ order backlogs. In many areas these have grown faster than production capacity. The latest IISS Strategic Dossier examines critical areas for improving NATO’s operational capability and Europe’s defence self-sufficiency. @intars91 Please name a specific falsehood. Isn't it possible to support family formation through education content, for example by cultivating the idea of relationships as a process oriented toward starting a family? Of course, it is a long-term solution, but without the risk of a clash of civilizations.
From@intars91@Krusts3 Why lie to people? The second option brings benefits, at best, after 25-30 years, and no, you will not be able to increase the birth rate at all unless the lifestyle in the West changes.

From@atihomirovsAlcohol representatives did say that the only result of the changes would be tax losses for the state. And that no other results are to be expected. Moreover, they agreed on a compromise. Restrictions must continue! https://t.co/BH37vgcEUf

@PuuchuksJ @GintsJaudzems How much longer can you keep talking nonsense? Article 110 of the Constitution was lawfully amended by two-thirds of the parliament. It is by no means some personal project of Šlesers. It should be written again, clearly, that homosexual relationships are not registered.
From@PuuchuksJ@GintsJaudzems Right now, shmow — Šlesers already pushed the legally imprecise addition to Article 110 of the Constitution back in December 2005.

From@maijaroze_@Apvienotais_ Before @AndrisKulbergs came to power, he said quite clearly that the Rail Baltic project should be frozen. There is neither economic justification for it, nor can taxpayers afford it. Why has the coat now been turned the other way? Those €10BN would be better used for building 4-lane highways.

From@ltvzinasShorter trading hours, no option to quickly buy alcohol online, and more strictly regulated advertising. These restrictions have been in force for more than a year. Initial data from the World Health Organization show that these steps have already borne fruit. 🖥️ https://t.co/yAqcgRvV6v https://t.co/J3u55dsNmL

Excellent choice for Baiba Strautmane to vote for Baiba Braže, who until 1993 frantically waited for the return of the Russian occupation authorities to Latvia and the end of the independence of the Republic of Latvia! If you don't see the risks that this character is friends with and works with the Lubyanka, what more can be said. https://t.co/Qkd2yxrMAK
From@BaibaStrautmaneBut... for the first time in my conscientious (long and mistake-ridden) life as a voter, I will vote for @Jauna_Vienotiba, because, IMO, nobody even comes close to being a better candidate for foreign minister than @Braze_Baiba. And, IMO, that is 10 times more important than anything else right now https://t.co/lOYMwI1MS0

Day No. 81 in the prime minister's chair (TUESDAY, 22 Sept.) — sanctions, “RailBaltica” and work with the state wallet. The morning began with office coordination, documents and preparation for the Cabinet of Ministers meeting. Next — an economic action discussion, a call of Baltic prime ministers, a government meeting and a press conference. 🇪🇺 SANCTIONS — 🇱🇻 HELD OUT TO THE LAST Latvia was the only EU country out of 27 to object until the very last against the removal of Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from the sanctions list. In the end, the choice was not between good and bad. It was between bad and much more terrible — changing the status of two persons or the collapse of the entire sanctions regime. Latvia constructively abstained. As a result, sanctions against almost 3,000 supporters of Russia's war were extended for 36 months, not as before — every six months, meaning no one will be able to touch them for 3 years. Until now, they had to be re-confirmed every 6 months. At the same time, we immediately imposed Latvian national sanctions on Usmanov and Fridman. In Latvia, their funds and economic resources remain frozen. Thanks to @Arlietas, the diplomatic corps and Minister @Braze_Baiba for the work, as well as the President @edgarsrinkevics for coordinating 🇱🇻 position from NY. 🇫🇷🛡️ STRONGER SECURITY FOR LATVIA Through intensive negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron, we reached an agreement to start talks on Latvia joining France's nuclear deterrence initiative. France has also pledged to strengthen its military presence in Latvia — especially in air defence. Security 🇱🇻 is concrete allied presence, capabilities and deterrence. 🚆 “RAILBALTICA” — BALTIC PRIME MINISTERS AGREE ON 2034 With the Lithuanian and Estonian prime ministers, we agreed on a common Baltic position and signed a 3x countries' declaration for the project's implementation. 2030 is not realistic, because RB would have to be implemented without EU funding because the new fund money is only available in 2029, and we have to finance security from the national budget. Therefore, all 3 Baltic countries agree on a realistic first-stage target — 2034. In the next EU financing period, the Baltic states will jointly ask the EU for predictable funding for the project's implementation, while on their side there is a commitment to review unnecessarily high technical requirements to reduce costs by several billion and speed up construction timelines. CUTTING THE COSTS OF THE STATE APPARATUS I signed an order to freeze the base salaries of officials also in 2027. It also applies to the prime minister, ministers and Saeima deputies. The Ministry of Finance has been tasked with preparing proposals to limit state spending — reviewing bonuses, service spending, long-standing vacancies and other expenses. Money will no longer be squandered in DECEMBER. It is also required to freeze all DECEMBER procurement. We in the state have a habit of unnecessarily spending the state budget in December with unnecessary expenses — it must be stopped so that the money stays in 2027. If we demand that the state save, we must start with ourselves. 🛂 CLEARER MIGRATION POLICY The government approved a 71-measure plan for stricter control of third-country nationals' entry, employment and studies. Some proposals still require amendments to laws, but the direction is clear — Latvia needs a migration policy that actually works. It was not a short day. But the prime minister's chair is not meant for comfort.
From@jautaa_veel. @vid_gov @smiteroke , here is work! Just a couple of days ago, the VID leadership tried to claim that only @KNABinforme and banks should worry about the Stepaņenko affairs.
