From@axe_lvThe uproar over Stepaņenko's father and donations is excellent advertising for its electorate. Possibly, SV+S! is the services' Plan B, if June 1940 repeated. SV could immediately form a government without holding new elections. They would explain to the world that this is democracy, the people elected them, like in Crimea. https://t.co/amqHVSnmUB

16044From@atis_svinkaA workplace without an available home is not yet a full opportunity to live in the region. A new rental building with 30 apartments has been built in Smiltene, but around 50 applications were received. This clearly shows that demand in the regions is greater than supply. This is not only a housing issue. It is also an economic problem. A company can create new jobs, but it will struggle to attract employees if there are no quality, affordable rental apartments in the town. Schools, hospitals, the police and other public services face the same issue. The Smiltene example shows a model that should be expanded across Latvia. The municipality provides land and the necessary infrastructure, the state and ALTUM offer long-term financing, and local businesses can get involved in housing construction where there is clear demand for workers. I propose turning the low-rent housing programme into a permanent, long-term programme with predictable financing. Support should first go to municipalities where companies create jobs, but a lack of housing prevents people from moving there. An available home in the region is not just social support. It is economic infrastructure, as necessary as a road, an electricity connection and the internet. Life outside Riga must mean not only the opportunity to find a job, but also the opportunity to live close to it. https://t.co/etPmo5ZeGX

Jurģis Liepnieks yesterday recorded and published an extremely nervous string of words, which some consider an opinion. In it, without any surprises, he tried to frame other parties in his strange categories, to praise the yellow ball project 'Latvijas attīstībai'. For Liepnieks (and now brace yourselves) NA are nationalists, Vienotība are even bigger nationalists, therefore 'Austošā Saule Latvijai' turns out to be fascists. According to this new political division, we can assume that 'Progresīvie' are centrists, and Josifs Staļins is a social democrat. I would invite Liepnieks and other nervous Latvian political science and political technology fossils, such as Ostrovska, Rozenvalds, Ozoliņš, etc., to sit in a circle, where you could all throw yellow balls at each other and talk about where exactly 'Austošā Saule Latvijai' has offended you. Or repaint those balls red, put them on your noses, and continue your clown show to the historical trash heap. The fact that 500 patriots in Latvia can voluntarily unite in a self-organized and self-financed party doesn't even cross your mind – such neural pathways simply don't exist in your post-Soviet brains. Everything for you is a 'project', a 'formation', something 'detached' or another hallucination, because that's how you are used to making politics – with money, with PR-office plans, with sorting macaroni, from above, with approval of power. When we appear, hallucinations intensify, because there are no reference points – who are these people who dare to think for themselves, act themselves, and do? 35 years after the restoration of independence, you shame those who devote their free time and energy to engage in politics, and then you call yourselves Western, liberals, and whatever else. If any party in Latvian politics is superfluous, it is 'Latvijas attīstībai'. If you are for liberal values, then JV and other parties, if you are for free market, then there is MMN, if you are for everyone sleeping with everyone, but calling it a family, then there are 'Progresīvie'. 'Latvijas attīstībai' is needed only by Jaunups and maybe a couple of other people. Not even by your prime ministerial candidate, who is not running in the elections, i.e. does not risk his own skin for all this, because he knows it is safer to stay in the European Parliament. So juggle as much as you want, but the Covid years are not that old and everyone remembers that Attīstībai/Par ruined everything they touched – the territorial reform, energy, Covid restrictions, allowed the May 9 celebrations in 2022 during the war. You were the original 'Progresīvie' in this field. You had the chance to replace 'Jaunā Vienotība' – you ruined it. These are your last elections – ours are the first! P.s. were those balls bought with state-allocated party funding?

From@LapinsGirtsIt's just some absurd territory - Jūlija Stepaņenko's father Sergejs Fedotovs lives in Russia, produces for the Russian army and profits from Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In parallel, he sends money to his daughter Jūlija Stepaņenko, who implements pro-Russian policy here in Latvia (this follows from her messages) and possibly gives money to the 'Suverēnā vara' election campaign. No wonder Stepaņenko cannot (does not want to) answer whether Russia is an aggressor and whose side she is on at all... https://t.co/t59TtdK5mG

From@tvirter@Chapis @saliktengriba Intelligence is still undetectable. You raised zero arguments as to how the island affected this. Behind the island there are cars all the way to the intersection. Removing the island, four cars would squeeze into the island's place, standing in the same line. That's all the gain.

From@guntars_h@CerinsAivis If the guardians of democracy had studied a bit more in schools or wherever, they would have learned that democracy is not permissiveness. We have the rights and duties to protect it from such a power, especially when we are almost in conditions of war.

From@GundegaFelicity@CerinsAivis @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs Oh, this pre-election demagoguery... Phew, Mr. Ceriņš. I don't believe you've become dumber, but more deceitful, yes.

From@LIAALatvijaFrom Latvia to Manhattan – helping Latvian startup founders get to where global contacts and new collaborations are formed. 🇱🇻 🇺🇸 One of the highlights of the New York mission – together with the @TechChill team, we gathered Latvian startup founders and international investors in Manhattan for a presentation session for the President of Latvia @edgarsrinkevics. LIAA director Ieva Jāgere also took part, meeting company founders and learning firsthand how Latvian startups create products and technologies for global markets. From artificial intelligence and gaming industry infrastructure to autonomous maritime systems, energy, biotechnologies, and legal technologies – the diversity of solutions represented once again confirms how crucial it is for internationalization to be in the right environment, build international contacts, and fully utilize the opportunities such meetings provide. @Brivibas36 | @Arlietas | @AizsardzibasMin | @EM_gov_lv | @amchamlat #EUfunds #ESfondi #InvestEU #EUinmyregion #MissionLatvia #Latvia #LIAA #Startups #Investments #NYC #USA #Innovation LIAA organizes participation in the foreign trade mission within the framework of the EU co-financed Innovative Business Development Program for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), with support from the European Regional Development Fund and state funding.

From@MurnieksA@CurlandS26731 @NickZikoff @Lato_Lapsa Exactly - any such "experience" can result in an unconditional "solution" or one whose conditions are very specific and long-lasting. Mr. Poikāns, apparently, has agreed to the second option.
