Kulbergs convenes an emergency government meeting

16118From@Krisjanis_KThe most interesting thing will be the backpedaling in @Braze_Baiba's position today. Because given her deplorable reputation among EU foreign ministers, the chances of achieving anything are negligible. But already yesterday the Komsomol girl Braže set her minion @Lastovskis in motion, so that the guilty party in this potential humiliation of Latvian foreign policy would be proclaimed in time. And that, look, will be @AndrisKulbergs himself, who for some reason is blamed for the fact that Braže is unable to do serious behind-the-scenes work, which any sensible foreign minister should be able to do….😈🤡

Latvia must use its veto rights on the possible removal of Fridman/Usmanov from the sanctions list. Currently, not only must sanctions against Russia be strengthened, but Fridman's ties with Aven must be taken into account. Softening sanctions would be a threat to Latvia's security. https://t.co/vcwpe0lYBO

For the Prime Minister, every day is like Monday 🎙️ A year after our first conversation, I am again a guest on the podcast “Virziens”. Back then I was a Saeima deputy. Now — Prime Minister. The position is different, but the conversation is still open and on familiar terms. In four months you can get a lot moving, but you cannot remake a country in one go. Problems that have been accumulating for years cannot be solved with one loud statement or another “restart”. In this conversation we talked about things for which there are no easy answers: 💶 how to sort out state finances without pretending that the deficit will disappear on its own; ✈️ what is actually happening with airBaltic and why the state can no longer bear the whole burden alone; 🚆 how to finish Rail Baltica sensibly, rather than keep paying for past mistakes; 💻 why the state still overpays for IT solutions; 🏢 how to manage state companies more professionally and finally make capital work; ⚖️ why politics is not a business and why decisions there take more time; 👨👩👧👦 what the prime minister's job demands from a family and why in this position every day is Monday. Without slogans and embellishment. About what I have seen in four months, what we have started to change, and what still lies ahead. If you want to understand not only what the government is doing, but also — why, watch the latest “Virziens” episode. 👇 🎥 https://t.co/3faT9tGL9H
I became involved in politics for one single reason - to make it possible to change the electoral system in the country, because I believe that Latvia's rise will begin only when we vote not for parties but for individual people, from whom we can afterwards expect personal responsibility. However, during this half-year, since the movement "We Change the Rules" has existed, I have realised that there is one much more important reason to take part in the 3 October elections. That is immigration. One can, of course, understand those who have decided to ignore and boycott the Saeima elections because they no longer believe in party intrigues, but it is at least foolish to ignore the fact that all the old parties support bringing immigrants to Latvia. They will tell you that we cannot cope without additional labour. But the examples of Western Europe show that this never ends well and in the long term brings only ruin, including economic ruin. Moreover, for such a numerically small nation as ours, this death spiral will be much faster. Therefore we must build our country's economy so that it is self-sufficient and we can do without low-skilled foreigners from exotic lands. Even if it will be hard, we must hold this land until the times when Latvians again want to multiply and have children. Because I believe that the current fashion of living with cats instead of starting families will also pass at some point, and as a result of natural selection only those who want the continuation of the nation will remain. And Latvians will return to the normal order of things. And it is important for us to hold on until then - that is our historical duty to the Latvians of the past and the future. That is why 3 October will be not about party intrigues, but about something much more important. Similar to the 2012 language referendum. Only this time the stakes are even higher, because the next time the nation has a say in this matter will be only in 4 years, and then it will already be too late to save anything. That is how I see it. Alvis Hermanis.

From@ESvirskisGermany's elite shortsightedness is astonishing. The country had everything - one of the world's strongest industries, engineering, capital, research and technological base. Germany should have become the flagship of Europe's industrial robotics and AI revolution. Instead, the political elite for years focused on expensive energy restructuring and migration as an answer to demographic and labor problems, while industry lost competitiveness and companies struggled with energy costs and bureaucracy. And the most striking thing still rings out - Germany needs more migrants. But where is the equally loud slogan: Germany needs more robots, AI, automation, cheap energy and productivity? For a country with Germany's potential to solve labor shortages in the 21st century primarily by increasing the number of people, rather than through a technological breakthrough, is a failure of strategic thinking.

The issue of fuel prices is also painful for farmers. They are also disappointed about difficulties in achieving a larger share of local food in public procurement. For this, in 'Rīta Panorāma' a conversation with the Minister of Agriculture and current acting Minister of Welfare Uldis Augulis. But Gints Smukais has released a new album 'EKSPRESIJAS 1', which contains both his own compositions and very personal interpretations of works by other authors. Meanwhile, after a long pause, Ralfs Eilands has also returned to the music stage with a new single 'Tavs Kailums'.
From@zvejniekameitaI'm not saying anything, but right now LTV1 has the program 'Choose Latvia's Future!' Party in focus. The Progressives. What was that saying, a sweet tongue has always been capital, that's about the hosts. There hasn't been such friendly, favorable chit-chat with representatives of any party.

From@KKultuura@pucej @counterbrange @Arlietas @Braze_Baiba Would you support the revocation of Aven's Latvian citizenship? I'm interested in your attitude towards him to make it easier to choose on election day.
