16170This phrase: "To help voters make a critical and informed choice in the 15th Saeima elections..." is a deliberate lie to point Latvian voters to which parties they have the "right" to vote for. This action is deliberate – the establishment fears the new politics offered by a new force, so everything is done to prevent voters from learning about it. Fourteen political parties registered for the elections and paid a security deposit. Among them is only one newly founded party – "Austošā Saule Latvijai". Radio, TV, print, interactive and outdoor advertising costs tens of thousands of euros. For the old parties this money is provided by all Latvian taxpayers. "Austošā Saule Latvijai" has no state funding; it is free from money of oligarchs and other interested parties. We exist completely independently – only from our own resources that members earn themselves. Media paid for by Latvian taxpayers deliberately filter who gets airtime and who is excluded, citing invented criteria controlled by a private office. To not change the political situation in Latvia fundamentally but merely reshuffle chairs, viewers and listeners are lied to about the true electoral options, simply omitting some of them. Therefore the claim "To help voters make a critical and informed choice..." is shameless and cynical manipulation.
From@ltvzinasTo help voters make a critical and informed choice in the 15th Saeima elections, Latvian Television offers a series of programs 'Party in Focus', providing a comprehensive insight into party programs and their offers. Based on SKDS public opinion research data, the series includes political forces that reached at least 2% support in early August. This time the program focuses on 'Latvia First'. #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni #Vēlēšanas2026

From@ArlietasThis week, more than 40 heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Latvia 🇱🇻 visited Latgale as part of a regional visit. 🎯 The aim of the visit was to introduce ambassadors to Latgale's cultural and historical heritage, the region's investment and economic cooperation opportunities, and to highlight the importance of strengthening Europe's eastern flank and the contribution of Latvian services to strengthening national border security. 🔸 In Rēzekne, the guests visited the VEREMS woodworking plant of 'Latvijas Finieris' and met with its board chairman Jānis Staris. At the Latgale embassy 'Gors', the ambassadors were received by Aldis Adamovičs, chairman of the Latgale Planning Region Development Council and chairman of Preiļi Municipality Council, Iveta Maļina-Tabūne, manager of the Latgale Special Economic Zone and regional planning manager for Latgale, as well as representatives from all nine Latgale municipalities. 🔸 Chief of the State Border Guard, General Guntis Pujāts, hosted the ambassadors at the State Border Guard College and the Canine Center, introducing the center's infrastructure and the duties of service staff. 🔸 In the continuation of the visit, foreign ambassadors went to the Grebņeva border control point in Ludza Municipality to learn firsthand about measures to strengthen the eastern border and the work of the Latvian border guard service on the EU and NATO external border. 🔸 The ambassadors concluded the regional visit with a visit to Preiļi Manor. 📷 Photo: Laura Celmiņa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs https://t.co/CeXtX3pQRj

@CylvakaBarns @Richijs13 @AndrisKulbergs @Apvienotais_ Here's more to read! Lithuania did it - they had a doubled economy for 3 consecutive years over an 8-year period. https://t.co/0T4I7qyFTI
From@CylvakaBarns@AndrisVelps @Richijs13 @AndrisKulbergs @Apvienotais_ This is the weakest plan I've seen. It's easy to say everything will increase, but where's the evidence that it will bring additional income? If changing taxes made everything so easy, why haven't others done it? Either I'm looking at the wrong thing or I'm right.

From@NaurisPuntulisWe have done a great deal of work, the plan for the preservation and development of the Song and Dance Celebration tradition for 2026–2028 has been approved, the reform of collective leaders' remuneration has been submitted to the Cabinet, and there will certainly also be a unified model for organizing the celebration, so that our nation's unique tradition continues from generation to generation and becomes ever stronger. We discussed this in the 'Kultūrzīmes' discussion. https://t.co/XmPvImjtyw

@Fertelis I really don't have time to campaign, I have a lot of interesting work. And I don't want to talk nonsense, share Lenin's speeches either. That's the only way to get votes. Colleagues put up one picture at the flea market 'Latgale', well then thanks for that! That's my 'campaign'😄 https://t.co/wDIlFK9TaB
From@Fertelis@guntarsv Mr. Vītols, you better calculate how to get into the Saeima. Theater on Twix won't work.

From@markomihkelsonA few observations on Russia’s election spectacle: ✅ Russia is a dictatorship. There are no free elections and no genuine domestic political process. The real opposition has been destroyed. ✅ Every party allowed into the “elections” plays a role assigned by the Kremlin. The result is scripted in advance. United Russia is expected to secure a constitutional majority. ✅ Turnout matters to the Kremlin. If 50% cannot be reached at the ballot box, the numbers can always be fixed on paper. ✅ The State Duma “elections” are illegitimate under international law because Russia is holding them in Ukrainian territories it temporarily occupies through its war of aggression. The free world should treat the resulting Duma accordingly and reject cooperation with it. ✅ Whatever happens on the ballot will not change Russia’s strategic course. Parliament and government do not make policy in Putin’s Russia. They implement the dictator’s will. ✅ The real question is mobilisation. Russia is suffering more killed and wounded in Ukraine than it can replace through recruitment. The coming months will show how far the Kremlin is prepared to go — including whether Moscow and St Petersburg will finally be asked to pay a greater human price. ✅ Russia’s economy is under growing pressure, but the regime can still sustain its war machine for the foreseeable future. These “elections” change nothing. ✅ Finally, the European context. Voluntarily voting in Russia’s “elections” means voting for the war and against peace. Russian citizens living in Europe who choose to participate are casting their votes in support of the war and against Europe’s security interests.

Antidepressant use among high school students is rising. What are they struggling with?
Now the Unity crab really wants to steal the elections…
From@TV3zinasThe coming months will not be easy for Latvia; the biggest security risks are related to the elections, Rinkēvičs says.

@Prusis That's not bad, but the support is larger.
From@Prusis@AndrisVelps First of all, don't consider that a new party not reaching 5% is a bad result.

From@TaisuKremusDMWhen the Progressives came to power, I hoped that cannabis would be decriminalized through them (you could grow a few plants yourself, selling, buying, and holding large amounts would be prohibited) as in almost all of Europe. But no, they painted a few crosswalks, made a scandal, and ruined Rail Baltica. 👺

@instant_mk Impressive is that finally there is a stance not to bend, but to buy what army professionals consider necessary. Currently we have a professional in the AM post, not Münchausen. Second. In the Telia matter, what has been the Swedish position? They are and remain our partners, but there must be a stance.
From@instant_mkSuch a statement from the Swedish Defense Minister is impressive. Here, however, an explanation from the government would be required. How and why was this contract broken? Why were the Swedes let down? https://t.co/oTwDwhf3mN
