From@citskovskisjCan't keep up. That's how the PM responds to all calls to liquidate ministries and institutions. KEM and SIF continue to work. But at tomorrow's Cabinet meeting, the PM's party colleague Tavars has submitted a question about establishing a new institution (Latvian National Botanical Garden, 99 positions; the State Chancellery and the Ministry of Finance do not agree) already from October 1 of this year!!! Why such great haste and are there hidden political interests here? The Botanical Garden existed as a separate institution until the end of 2025. A competition for the position of director of LNBD had even been announced. The selection committee recommended two candidates to the then VARAM minister Čudars (JV). One of them was Kulberga's party colleague, Saeima deputy A. Svilāns. Čudars decided to end the competition without results, and LNBD was liquidated. Functions were transferred to the Nature Conservation Agency. A lot of money and resources were spent during the liquidation process. But 9 months later, the next minister Tavars does everything the opposite. Where is the logic? Perhaps the haste is related to the fact that Svilāns' comrade again wants to become the director of LNBD.

16435@viuksmp @JurgisLiepnieks Each municipality was also evaluated separately. Rūjiena was also discussed after the initial proposal and adjusted based on data. This happened in several other places in Latvia as well. What else would be the point of public consultation?
From@viuksmp@pucej @JurgisLiepnieks I well remember how this was talked about, that there would be discussions and each municipality would be evaluated separately. And I also remember how suddenly one morning a map appeared in the media where everything was decided and enough dawdling. In Rūjiena, protests previously only occurred during the Barricades and in 1905.

@IevaSt @Vitenav No one will print new ballot papers at the last minute even in that case. By the way, we @partijaMMN have a candidate who got married in summer and changed her surname, but the ballot papers had already gone to print. We submitted the changes to CVK, they were approved, but not on the papers.
@_emma_karkls_ Those are salary taxes to the State Revenue Service. You can check in the company's financial statements - they generally haven't paid any other taxes for years, or ever, as far as I remember.

Ukraine's path to the European Union is impossible without independent and strong anti-corruption institutions. 🇺🇦🇪🇺 In Kyiv, we discussed the legislature's responsibility in this process with deputies of the Committee on Legal Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The decisions that must strengthen the independence of anti-corruption institutions, their ability to investigate high-level corruption and recover criminally acquired assets begin directly with the legislature. Meanwhile, representatives of organizations DEJURE, AntAC and Transparency International Ukraine provided an open insight and assessment of the real situation, the progress of reforms implemented so far and the necessary improvements. A strong civil society is essential for decisions to be transparent and for politicians to be held accountable. Latvia is ready to share both its EU integration experience and the lessons we are still learning in strengthening corruption prevention, investigation, whistleblower protection and recovery of criminally acquired assets. Ukraine's European integration is a common project. It must be based on an independent, effective and resilient justice and anti-corruption system. 🇱🇻🇺🇦🇪🇺
WE CHANGE THE RULES WILL NOT CLOSE ANY RURAL SCHOOL In twenty years, half of Latvia's schools have been closed. In rural areas they are the only center of life. They ensure the connection of residents with regions. Therefore closing them means a death sentence for rural areas – young people leaving, families not forming, and pensioners being abandoned. Instead of saving at the expense of destroying the nation's future, we will not close any rural school, but by restoring distance learning and homeschooling practices, we will create a school model for rural areas that preserves the school even if one child studies there.

The coalition has not yet made decisions on fuel price reduction measures
From@janisdombravaThe court imposed a lenient sentence on Uzbeks who tortured a swan for fun. Meanwhile, the interior sector will ensure that these Uzbeks cannot continue to stay in Latvia. I have discussed the issue with institutions and services so that these immigrant criminals leave Latvia as soon as possible.

@GBirzgale This morning I listened to Unity saying that they have given money to health care, especially for children, blah blah blah.
From@GBirzgale@instant_mk https://t.co/4Yi5DowBTu - the ombudsman is one of the few who hears. By the way, Uzulnieks was also very much on the side of medics, you can watch the MK (cabinet) meetings.

From@Krisjanis_KOne thing is clear here - @AndrisKulbergs is definitely not to blame :)) But the main point here is still about SOME KIND of responsibility - if back then in Latvenergo's shitty 3 million case they could set up a whole parliamentary investigation committee, then it is a justified question - what are @MeistersArmins and @prokuratura_LV doing in the airBaltic case - are these hundreds of millions from the state budget really COMPLETELY OK? SERIOUSLY?? There are like n-th episodes of shareholder deception, cmon...

I'm flying home from the 2nd Lapland Arctic Summit, where together with all the Nordic, Baltic, Icelandic, German, and French leaders we had a heated, important discussion about the strategic importance of the Arctic, security, the Russian threat, EU interests, and reducing dependency on resource extraction. Together with Estonia and Lithuania, we are united in defending the interests of the Baltic states.
From@AndrisKulbergsOn Father's Day I go to Lapland to represent 🇱🇻 at the 🇪🇺 Arctic Summit, where Nordic and European leaders will meet to address security and the new 🇪🇺 MFF multi-annual budget issues. I will defend 🇱🇻's position on our role as an EU border state on the eastern flank in strengthening the EU border, investment in defense and the need to strengthen the border economy with an additional €7 billion in funding.

Do you really not understand? Then I'll explain. Latvian Post is one of the most expensive expense items in the Saeima election campaign. The Progressives have, most likely, already paid for it a second time with your taxes. We have printed materials, but we distribute them ourselves. We have been in almost all regions of Latvia. Please send your address and we'll see how to include it in the route. Thank you for your attention and instructions on running campaigns.
From@Tas_es_Pats@RaivisZeltits I just don't understand why the pro-Bolsheviks have already littered my mailbox for the second time, but the Austošā Saule folks have never once dropped their Zemgale list into my mailbox. At least chip in 50 euros each and print some flyers, because with Twitter you won't reach the rural areas!

From@karlwithanlThese may be the penultimate elections before Sweden is irreversibly lost. How can a nation go so utterly insane - that is the merit of far-left politicians. The situation is especially devastating in Malmö and its agglomeration, where the percentage of ethnic Swedes is extremely low, because 95% of residents and thus the electorate there are of non-Swedish origin; of course, there is also 97% support for leftists there. And we Latvians must not make a similar mistake: just like the Swedes, Latvians also have mentally very close socialist values, but socialist values sooner or later lead a country to the abyss. It is only a matter of time, but Unity with its satellites has already pumped Riga (and now not only Riga) full of potential future electorate. That most of them currently do not have voting rights yet is a matter of time - leftists will be able to arrange everything as they need. Unlike Sweden, we have not had the fortune to live in prosperity and peace for nearly a century; we can ruin everything even without managing to climb out of history's pile of shit, that's the focus. However, I do not place vain hopes on Latvians' ability to learn live - it never happens that way; Latvians must fundamentally step on the same rakes, and do so with particular diligence.
