@normundsbergs Not so much bureaucracy, though also that. This directly and unequivocally increases the cost of construction itself. Which delights a certain business segment - architects and adjacent segments - various 'designers' and others similar. They are simply ecstatic if they manage to lobby it through.

business has great CONCERNS that it will increase bureaucracy. https://t.co/zwcHnDiH6n

The minister's advisor – on the Liepāja Special Economic Zone board. A few months before the Saeima elections, Transport Minister Rihards Kozlovskis (JV) has decided to put forward his legal advisor Ilze Skrodele for this position. Both the minister and his advisor deny that this position was specially tailored for Skrodele. The government postponed the decision today. 🖥️ https://t.co/VfBpd42zyy

In this @irLV ŠĶiltava it is said that crime rates are caused by Russians, Belarusians, the Russified contingent of the former USSR republics, not by Indians and Asian/Middle Eastern people, and that Latvian politicians are too loud. When will there be the first cases of sexual harassment, rape, and stabbing committed by migrants from third countries? Then these same journalists will blame politicians for insufficient prevention and risk mitigation. Liberal thinking is like a vicious circle... In the middle of this circle, Western societies and states degrade and sink. https://t.co/k5Hr1gj9OG

A Russian speaks Russian in everyday life, we cannot hope for any Latvianization of them, with rare exceptions... #AtkrieviskoLatviju Down with Russian Latvia! Approximately one third of Latvia's schoolchildren do not speak Latvian at home, and their reading scores are on average 84 points lower https://t.co/OhKZwptohi

With sharp discussions, the Architecture Law was nevertheless adopted today in the Cabinet of Ministers. I foresee that its path in the Saeima will not be simple either. Already this morning I explained on the radio what the essence of the law is, but I wanted to add a couple of things. Although the Cabinet conceptually supported the further advancement of the law, opinions were voiced that it would increase bureaucracy and raise construction costs. Regarding the lack of sustainability that politicians are accused of. To avoid recalling the well-known Churchill saying about politicians and statesmen, I am pleased that it was supported, because this is one of those laws that at first glance complicates and raises costs, but the real contribution of this law we will be able to assess after several decades, which certainly exceeds the political framework of one or several Saeima convocations. Secondly. Those who follow the processes in the country may remember that in my previous ministerial term my relations with architects were full of opposing views and discussions. This is one of the reasons why I included the Architecture Law in my priority work list for this period. To demonstrate that work in the name of common public good, which I often invoke, is not just a political slogan for me, but a real conviction that I try to turn into real actions. Together with the industry and colleagues, we have truly accomplished something valuable. Thank you all for your support and involvement!

Although I have more and more questions for the prime minister on many matters, regarding the State Chancellery I am 100% sure that there are JV cadres who have been entrenched there for years and now for four months have been bending over backwards to get JV back, rather than be replaced. From there come all sorts of 'crap and muck' and a lack of/hiding of information. They cannot be fired, one just has to endure.

Right under the Prime Minister's nose, essentially in the next office, the State Chancellery approves as a member of the RAKUS council a person who resigned after Kulbergs' own report on RS. Isn't it that the Prime Minister has hidden himself away with his actions?

This morning on the program '900 seconds' I spoke about issues important to Latvia's cultural space - the Architecture Law, which after almost 20 years of discussions will finally be considered by the government today. I am extremely pleased about that! We talked about increasing or strengthening the amount of Latvian-made music on radio stations. Latvia is the only country in the world where our music must be played, and I, together with Latvian musicians and industry people, have advocated for this and expect radio stations to actively engage to find the best solution. We also talked about funding and remuneration for the cultural sector. The goal in all these issues is one - a strong, high-quality Latvian cultural space that can be preserved for future generations. More here: https://t.co/4wqFIDzat7

As Chair of the Board of @Jauna_Vienotiba, together with the Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia, we signed a memorandum on strengthening social partnership. It is important to me that decisions on the labour market, remuneration, social protection and health care are made in dialogue with the people whom they affect most directly. A strong economy is not just growth indicators. It is also the opportunity for people to receive fair remuneration, feel safe in their workplace and build a better life for themselves and their families. Therefore, we will continue to talk, cooperate and seek solutions that work for people.
