The resigned Evika Siliņa was not even offered by 'New Unity' to become a candidate for the prime minister's post. Meanwhile, Valdis Dombrovskis has refused such an offer. https://t.co/lEj6wGsZyB

At the next Saeima session, deputies will have the opportunity to decide on @Progresivie's proposal to ban the transit of Russian and Belarusian grain. Then there will be no need to simulate actions with such tariffs. https://t.co/KbHuV6RuuU

Russia is trying to occupy Ukraine, killing Ukrainians, and threatens to occupy Latvia as well. Meanwhile, the children of Russian occupiers are being put on Latvian Radio to address Latvians in a terrible Russian accent, to remind who is in charge here. During the German attack, the BBC did not speak with a German accent. https://t.co/0X6IaV7iR5

@suvajevs Unity and Progressives taught us that your 'red lines' are lies. I am sure that your stance against Šlesers will also disappear in the next Saeima, if only there is a chance to get into government because of it.

@pucej I haven't heard that LA fundamentally wouldn't draw red lines. But you still don't draw a red line against Šlesers.

Police informed that on Friday in Jelgava a citizen of Uzbekistan was detained, who had committed indecent acts against a minor in a courtyard. Before that, he had engaged in targeted communication with the child and at his residence possibly kept narcotic substances. The person resides in Latvia as an auxiliary worker with a long-term visa. The State Police has acted actively to investigate this case and determine: whether this is an isolated case of possible pedophilia by a third-country citizen, whether the person has committed other similar crimes, or whether a wider circle of persons is involved? There will be no tolerance in the internal affairs system for foreigners who commit crimes. Such persons are a threat to society, not an economic contribution.

Before the 2022 elections, the Progressives promised not to be in government with ZZS, and broke that promise after just 11 months. That's how much Šuvajevs' 'red lines' are worth. https://t.co/F4DCsweNkd

A commendable flight of thought. LA could join Šlesers' Waterfront government, but that, it turns out, would not be their choice. Voluntary renunciation of autonomy as a form of political responsibility. A fascinating construct. P.S. And how exactly will the benefactors implement Šlesers' program themselves. https://t.co/lhhwsFtSul

@realNepareizais That's nice, but the budget doesn't have that option. Unless you cut, for example, health, education, or pensions.

68.8% of JV supporters agree that the state should continue investing in airBaltic, with similar views expressed by 65.4% of Progresīvie supporters and 58.4% of LA supporters. https://t.co/rad1gfNEUg https://t.co/NBk7xfZnRW

⛔️Russia's grain transit must be ended - it shames internationally and makes Latvian farmers economically uncompetitive. 📊@VL_TBLNNK supports increasing tariffs on Russian grain transit to make this route unprofitable. There is an agreement in the coalition. 👉🏻At the same time, we have also drafted amendments to the law that would completely halt Russian grain transit, preventing the use of port infrastructure. The EU agreement provides for such an exception if it is time-bound and justified by a member state's security risks. #krievija #tranzits #graudi

Andriy Biletskyi refutes Putin's statement: Sviatohirsk is under the control of the Third Army Corps! Brigadier General Andriy Biletskyi recorded a video address directly from the center of Sviatohirsk — against the background of the Sviatohirsk Lavra of the Dormition: «I want to address the Russian military and military-political leadership. Take off your clown noses and colorful wigs. Don't look like fools. The 60th Mechanized Brigade of the Third Army Corps fully controls the city. In fact, this is our rear zone.» Wait for further news from the front lines of the Third!

The acquisition of the “Archer” wheeled artillery system – a thoroughly evaluated and justified choice. The decision on this type of procurement was made by a council consisting of the Ministry of Defence and the leadership and specialists of the National Armed Forces. When such purchases were approved in the government in January 2026, the choice was presented and justified by NBS representatives. First, the choice was made between the Swedish system “Archer,” which has been tested and proven in combat in Ukraine, and the alternative Czech “Morana,” which, although cheaper, existed only at the prototype level. Other systems, such as the French “Caesar” chosen by Lithuania, Estonia, and also the Czech Republic, were rejected by the NBS. Second, speed of delivery was one of the important selection criteria. An agreement has been reached that still this year – while the Swedish manufacturer would fulfil Latvia's order – a temporary and practically equivalent solution provided by the manufacturer would be used and training would be carried out together with Swedish soldiers. Third, Sweden is a strategic ally of Latvia in the security field, whose military industry manufacturers have an impeccable reputation. The presence of the Swedish battalion is an important contribution to our security. In January, a roadmap for interstate defence cooperation was signed, which should further strengthen Sweden's presence in Latvia – in the air, at sea and on land, as well as defence industry cooperation. Therefore, the expressed criticism about the acquisition of the combat-tested wheeled artillery system “Archer” is clearly to be assessed as an inability to bring the initiated progress to a result important for our security.

I wouldn't want to think about how to implement LPV's stupid program — Juris Pūce explains why he wouldn't want to be in a coalition with that particular party, but avoids categorical red lines, recalling the humiliating situation in which “New Unity” and “Progressives” found themselves with ZZS. ▶️ Watch the full interview on the show “Next, please!” https://t.co/giZYhpH0Bc #sif_maf2026

On September 4, in Carnikava, 6 children and a teacher suffered from dog bites. Today is September 7, and the parents of the affected children are turning to me, saying that no one from the police has contacted them and when answering calls, they are told to wait. Physical injuries, especially hematomas, disappear quickly, so it is incomprehensible why @Valsts_policija is delaying the appointment of forensic medical examinations of the victims, so that all physical injuries are fully documented now, rather than later when the forensic examination is ordered and experts will largely have to rely only on medical documentation. As I understood, @janisdombrava and @AndrisKulbergs promised to pay special attention to the incident in Carnikava...

It is not that it is incomprehensible, but it is very well understandable.
