I have addressed the Prosecutor General's Office regarding possible violations in the construction projects of certain disaster management centers. Evaluating the projects, I found uneconomical and suspicious cost items, including multiple cost increases. The use of state money must be justified and transparent. The responsible official has been suspended from duties, and an internal audit has been initiated in the ministry. Inaction, negligence, and uneconomical handling of state funds are unacceptable. One of the examples:

Strazdiņa's reports from the USA never cease to surprise. Instead of finally finding some local experts, at least if not politicians, from among people close to politics, she calmly reads news from her phone. For 200k of taxpayers' money per year…

We are not planning, but other possible kisses are much more toxic…

@karlis_serzants Are you planning that AS will go with the old Unity to 'kiss' for 4 years?

I will remind that Leila Rasima ABSTAINED in the Mandate, Ethics and Submissions Committee in the vote on the further advancement to the Saeima of the bill 'Ensuring the Status of the State Language' signed by 10,500 citizens. https://t.co/OKXIeYmWp3 - here is a fragment from the historic committee meeting. https://t.co/mMN0wJ9CYH

📡 To improve communications in Latvia, internal roaming between mobile operators must be introduced. I personally experience this regularly when traveling to regions of 🇱🇻, and I hear the same from colleagues and people across Latvia — mobile communications may have become worse in many places. Call drops, lost coverage, insufficient coverage. One possible reason could be — we have rapidly transitioned to 5G, which requires a denser network of base stations, while the declining role of the 2G network in certain places may affect coverage availability. One solution — internal roaming within Latvia between LMT, Tele2, and BITE. That would mean: if your operator's network is not available in a specific location, your phone could in certain cases use another operator's network. This would allow more efficient and rational use of existing infrastructure, improve communication availability and, importantly, increase 🇱🇻 resilience in crisis situations. I looked into what's happening with this issue. It turns out — such an initiative has already existed! All operators have even agreed to it, but the issue has remained "hanging" in the MK TAP portal after submission by @Sat_Min. Perhaps it was simply forgotten along the way. 👉 I tasked the office to find out where this issue is stuck and move it forward. Communications are not just convenience. In a crisis they are part of national security and resilience. We must use everything that is already at our disposal so that 🇱🇻 is more prepared.

@liana_langa That is also the reason why I will oppose political correctness.

Here is why I will stand for denouncing the 'hate speech' law - because politicians have ALREADY started to manipulate and call an opinion about their party HATE SPEECH! It is the same restriction of freedom of speech as during the communist dictatorship! #RunāLatviski https://t.co/mpV8PKLYFK

@RicardsMiezitis @Progresivie Did Progresīvie vote last year for increasing the minimum number of party members to be allowed to participate in elections?

HUGE thanks to every @Progresivie supporter for your trust! PRO's stable support will give stronger positions in coalition formation, so that the next government's priorities include Latvian democracy and the well-being of the people. Right now we see that these are not the priorities of the current government... https://t.co/5VUNLoft0z

@IngaSpringe Is it normal that during the pre-election period @LRZinas circulates comments about politicians from a journalist who can't even bother to check that some parties are not included in her “data” about parties?

📍 Šlesers' party gains attention on Facebook through volume, Russians – through anger. ✅ Many posts do not mean the greatest resonance. More: https://t.co/LD7p7McKus https://t.co/tKu6oWejX0

“Comparing storm damage and the results of bombing in Ukraine is more than cynical. And such cynical politics can also be turned against their voters,” said military expert Mārtiņš Vērdiņš, analyzing the parliamentary election debates in Daugavpils. #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni #Vēlēšanas2026

I support the inclusion of the Latgalian language in the education system. Especially in the younger grades, to spark children's interest and desire to learn it. [..] The Latgalian language should be integrated into an interesting curriculum that would additionally spark interest, Andris Vaivods (LA) said in the #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni debate. #Vēlēšanas2026

I spoke to several intel sources about Ratcliffe's trip, from different countries. (Allies have been briefed.) The line I'm getting is that two things were discussed: ending the war in Ukraine and warning against further 'hybrid' attacks on NATO. There was no a great sense of urgency attached to the meeting, which has sparked a lot of curiosity (to put it mildly) that surely more must have been on the agenda. None of the sources emphasized the Baltics were the main threat vector, but given prior attacks there I'd imagine they were encompassed in any broader conversation.

“We must continue the existing program – construction of low-rent apartments. [..] Additional funding must be sought there. But the results also need to be analyzed, because when the new building in Ludza is completed – who will those apartments go to and what is the demand, and whether it will have the positive effect that people will return,” said Kaspars Melnis (ZZS) in the election debates in Daugavpils. #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni #Vēlēšanas2026

@ivchix @Apvienotais_ I understand, but the data has been stolen from practically all residents; compensating would mean paying for ourselves... there's no such mystical pocket to draw from without affecting ourselves.

@AndrisKulbergs @Apvienotais_ Both historical and current have been stolen. Through addresses you can also gather those in the same household, no need even to be a state official, which we now want to protect. So the question of compensation for ALL whose data has been stolen, not just car collectors, is legitimate.

@AndrisKulbergs @VL_TBLNNK @Apvienotais_ No! I am not from the left flank, I see your actions and will vote for you. That was only meant that when you enter government, then for Rail and AirBaltic, Briškens and his co brothers and sisters must finally sit and receive an exemplary punishment. Good luck and my vote will go to you.
