Sprūds did not film what was happening and also did not know that another candidate was filming the room in a wide shot. After the military person's public objections, the video was immediately deleted.

On August 22, while at a campaign event in Ogre, former Defense Minister @AndrisSpruds addressed a Ukrainian soldier he noticed, to personally express respect for the Ukrainian armed forces and people. The purpose of the address was not public communication.

ℹ️ In connection with the accusations deliberately spread by certain individuals that the party Progresīvie briefly showed a Ukrainian soldier in its communications, we would like to clarify the circumstances of the situation.

This morning, around 31,000 households still have no electricity. In many places, people have been feeling the effects of the storm for the third day. The most important thing now is to help people and restore electricity, water supply and communications. Thanks to all the crews and services that continue to work. But once the urgent work is done, the state must conduct a practical readiness test of critical infrastructure. Not another working group or report, but a real test. Can gas stations operate without electricity? How long do mobile communication towers work? Are generators tested for water supply? Are all critical ATMs working? Who is responsible for each system's readiness? The value of a crisis plan is determined not by the thickness of the document, but by what actually works when the power goes out.

Today, the Latvian Government approved a new energy support package for Chernihiv region of Ukraine of ~200 000 EUR. 🇱🇻🇺🇦 Latvia is committed to strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience, in spite of Russia’s terroristic attacks. #WeStandWithUkraine , @andrii_sybiha !

Overnight, Russia launched a Shahed drone strike against the "Vynohradivka" international road border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova. This marks the third Russian attack on Ukrainian-Moldovan border crossings in two weeks. A clear pattern: Russia is deliberately trying to disrupt connectivity between our two nations and destabilize the broader region. We call on the international community to condemn Russia’s systematic targeting of civilian transport corridors and critical border infrastructure. Ukrainian State Border Guard Service and State Customs Service officers, who perform their duties under constant life-threatening risks, deserve international solidarity and targeted support, including from partner national border agencies, international bodies, and professional associations.

Happy Independence Day, Ukraine! May Ukraine's Independence Day remind us all that the right to live in peace belong to every human being. We are with Ukraine every step of the way in defending its rights against the Russian aggression. https://t.co/lDcSz3A8Sh

🇺🇦🦾 At the UN Security Council briefing on Ukraine, @Latvian_MFA Parliamentary Secretary @dacemelbarde began by wishing a Happy Independence Day to the brave Ukrainian people! 🇺🇦 “You are an ancient nation with your own rich language and culture, dating back many centuries to the traditions of Kyivan Rus. And we know you will celebrate your independence proudly for many centuries to come.” 🇺🇦 Today, Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence are recognised by every country in the world. Except one. ⚫️ Twelve years and six months ago, Russia illegally invaded and occupied Ukraine’s regions of Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk. Russia violated its most sacred responsibilities as a permanent member of this Council. ⚫️ It shattered the core principles of the UN Charter and broke the legally binding agreements it had with Ukraine, both bilaterally and multilaterally. ⚫️ In 2014, Russia began a war of aggression that continues to this day. Even after the changes to the law introduced by @H_AbuMeri, the crime of Russification in hospitals continues. In Latvia, I plan to introduce and implement a much stricter language policy. 36 years after the restoration of statehood, Latvians should not have to suffer in hospitals and elsewhere from the Russification introduced through genocide. #AtkrieviskoLatviju

@DavidsZalans Overall, the SAFE 3.5b€ loan is a decision under Siliņa's government. Refusing it would mean a total vacuum in defense... there were no options, defense is a priority

Do I see correctly that under Siliņa the debt grew slower than under @AndrisKulbergs ? https://t.co/tMrhFwngNL

@Rajevskis I'll play back exactly for you what the Latvian position is and how these EU sanctions were adopted. What exactly do you want to say?

What else needs to be understood? These vatniks, descendants of occupiers, desecrators of the Latvian flag - they are in Latvia as a result of the occupation crime and continue this crime! These people do not fit in Latvia; it's good that the more reasonable ones have already left or are leaving Latvia. If you hate our flag - yes, leave!

Is any one of you ready to vote so that Evika Siliņa can continue to humiliate not only herself but our entire country? The time of clowns must end. https://t.co/OHyqHFJRzF

Latvians, are you really ready on October 3 to vote for Andris Sprūds from “Progresīvie”, an admirer of Russia? Sprūds has said that discussion about Latgale's autonomy from Latvia is supportable, that Russia is destiny, but Ukraine is a project. Will you put your head in a noose? https://t.co/z2hdVRZN3e

Filip, you're mixing something up here. Hungary and specifically Orbán was the one who normalized and prevented many 🇷🇺 from being put on sanctions. Latvia has always been for putting all supporters of 🇷🇺 aggression on sanctions. In the 21st sanctions package, the 🇷🇺 sports minister was specifically put back on sanctions.

✅ The boat on which deputies of all Riga City Council factions, including @Progresivie, were present, was organized by @Bergholcs to mark the stops of the future water transport network. The trip was very valuable, because without it it is impossible to understand how the future water transport in Riga will take shape. Yes, it is true that during the trip colleague @SlesersAinars told those present about the Waterfront project, the agreement for which, if my memory serves, was signed on behalf of Riga by @VilnisKirsis. As for my position, the fact that residential buildings are being built on Andrejsala is in itself very good, because Riga needs high-quality residential infrastructure. The only thing that is confusing about this project is the project owner, a UAE citizen Alabar's joint projects with Chechen killer Kadyrov. Perhaps @Valsts_drosiba should conduct an additional check of the origin of Waterfront funds, so that in the end it does not turn out that, for example, Kadyrov's son, rich in his orders, settles on Andrejsala and asks for a Latvian residence permit. #AllahAkbar

@tikums @LV_visiem @schizoLama @austsaule @AlvisHermanis1 Interesting. Tell us more about the Kremlin's Šlesers boat trip. Is that true, @liana_langa and @AnsisPupols?
