From@kSukevicsThe Swiss have also published crime statistics for the first time — no surprises for me. Persons with a Swiss passport have been accused of only 0.6 persons per 100 persons; legal foreigners are 1 per 100 persons, asylum seekers (excluding North Africa) 12 per 100, but North Africans from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia reach 81(!!!) per 100 persons. In total, 4,299 asylum seekers from North Africa were registered in the country in 2024 — of whom 3,462(!) have been accused of committing criminal acts. Judge for yourselves.

Happy Independence Day, Ukraine! 🇺🇦 Dear Ukrainian friends and all those defending Ukraine’s freedom – we see the immense price Ukraine is paying for its freedom and the courage it takes to defend it every day. Latvia has always stood with Ukraine and will continue to do so. We wish you victory, the return of your occupied territories and lasting peace in a free and sovereign Ukraine. We stand together as neighbours, friends, brothers and sisters – today and for as long as it takes. 🇱🇻🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!
It's the 5th year of the war and gas stations aren't working because there's no electricity? You have to be a real enemy of the Latvian state to vote for the parties in power. https://t.co/LwxzvslRto
Dear Ukrainian friends!
🇺🇦 Ukraine celebrates its 35th Independence Day. On August 21, we commemorated Latvia's de facto state independence and liberation from the occupation regime. These two days are historical reminders that freedom and independence are based on the courage and will of the people to fight for their freedom. For the Ukrainian people, war is still an everyday reality…
From@karlis_serzantsA stop on Latgales Street. Built two years ago and already redone twice. A few weeks after the last redo it already looks like this. That's what happens when you put cobblestones on bare sand. In spring there will be repairs again, but who will pay for that @VKleinbergs ? https://t.co/OWSJNikt0j

In the end it wasn't 200,000 - using @LSFP_LV from the @IZM_gov_lv budget, 147,366.52 € were allocated for the successful holding of the bridge tournament. I guess it's very convenient to be simultaneously the president of the bridge federation and a party member of @IIndriksone :)) Source - LSFP social networks. https://t.co/2GtOPOfymy https://t.co/to26yRoYIr
From@DDaugavietis45From the @IZM_gov_lv budget, Minister Indriksone plans to allocate €200,000 for a tournament organized by the bridge federation led by her party member Parādnieks. During the previous leadership, we did not approve this decision in the ministry, because we believed that if this amount is allocated as sport sector funding, it would be better used for mass sports events rather than a card tournament. And if there really is such a large economic contribution as the organizers say, then there is a special program for 'Grand Events' at the Ministry of Economics, and @IZM_gov_lv should not be involved. At least we could not prove the usefulness in any calculations. It was only explained verbally, without real data.

From@RaivisZeltitsA large part of the country still doesn't know when electricity will be restored, internet is still disrupted. Comprehensive defense as a theory. In practice, surprise about the storm, the interior system kept on bread and water struggles and there is no information.

Once there were three little pigs - Nif Nif, Nuf Nuf and Naf Naf. The first built a hut of straw, the second of branches, but the third of bricks. Yesterday the seasonal wind blew away the straw and branches, and along with the straw it blew away communications, notification, information and critical ATMs. But I understood one thing. You see, Nif and Nuf don't care. That's their nature - to frolic and dance. They are allowed to be that way, each has their own life choices, which I don't judge. There's only one problem. Nif and Nuf are the majority (Naf is only one) - they both put themselves into positions too, they legally stitch this up themselves and will never be held accountable. The storm was a very good lesson. One can safely say that next time it will be exactly the same - certainty is a comfortable awareness! Nifnufs will be the same tomorrow too, and the majority. That gives a clear course of action to everyone who understands it. Prepare, everyone for themselves, for anything. Let's think positively, clarity is 🤝
From@karlis_serzantsIn all this storm mess, the thing that failed the most was Latvian Radio. The broadcaster, which could and should have become the main information provider for the public, calmly aired radio plays and worked in weekend mode. I wonder, will @seplpadome react to this somehow?
