There must be a lesson and consequences. Irresponsibility and comfort in processes and meetings is the code of state administration. At all levels. That comfort must be eradicated. But not everywhere is like that, there are exceptions. But exceptions are now endemically leaving the state administration. Revolutionary rambling on social media, if supported, only facilitates that. It is a mirror problem.

The cyberattack on the information systems of the Road Traffic Safety Directorate and the massive data leak is a significant threat to national security. CSDD's reputation and public trust in this institution have been undermined. Under these circumstances, CSDD's leadership must not continue its work.

Speaking about the cyberattack on CSDD — I believe that both the chair of the board and the chair of the council should resign, thereby taking responsibility.

The economy (welfare) works differently. Prices cannot be influenced in any way. Communists have always tried that and driven hundreds of millions of people into poverty. Into hopelessness. The only way out is to become richer. Reduce state regulations and allow people to live, fight, and succeed. As much as each one can. You consider people in Latvia to be victims and weaklings.

How are policymakers addressing the cost of living in Latvia? And do all political forces even have an answer to it? For PROGRESSIVES, this is one of the priority policy issues. New CSP data show that in 2025, average household consumer spending in Latvia reached €619 per month per household member. In Riga it was €781, but in the regions €524. We spend the most on food at 24%, housing at 16%, and transport at 12%. Together, these three items make up more than half of household consumer spending. This is exactly where government policy needs to deliver a tangible result. But there is another fundamental question: is Latvia's problem too-high prices or too-low incomes? The answer, of course, is both. We need to find ways to reduce costs and promote competition in food, housing, energy, and transport markets. But price policy alone will not be enough. Fuel, a car, a phone, or a plane ticket in the EU single market cannot cost proportionally to Latvian wages. The prices of many goods are similar across Europe, but our people have to work longer to buy them. Therefore, in the long term, the cost-of-living issue inevitably becomes a purchasing-power issue. This means higher productivity, investment, and higher wages. The goal should be simple: food, housing, and mobility should take up a smaller share of a person's income, and after paying for basic needs, a family should have more left over. https://t.co/SchA3Eb5Lv

He wrote about the Russians. That is also relevant for our 'Eastern Latvian territories' — “Land matters when there are people living on it. When the neighbors around it are friendly. When, because of both, it brings the people living on it economic benefit and prosperity.”

@AivarsOzo @AndrisKulbergs Vienotība also said before the last elections in 2022 'clearly and unambiguously' that it would not go into government with ZZS. I don't remember if you have pointed this out to them? 🫤

@jureits @AndrisKulbergs 'I don't see a possibility...' Two days before they saw it. Tomorrow they will say that Šlesers is good, if without potato salad. And they will repeat that the 'voter' will decide everything. There has been no AS decision that the alliance will not be with Šlesers' LPV in the next government. Why is it so difficult to say that clearly and unambiguously?

@DelfiLV Krjukovs once said that they could, just like UA, put the brigades at ease. Then one involuntarily has to think - whether he is completely stupid or considers others to be such. ZS is castrated and it can do nothing, even if it were given X hour 👇

This morning, the Russians launched a brutal attack on a busy intersection in Pechenihy, Kharkiv region – a location with a post office and stores, surrounded only by residential buildings. As of now, 10 people have been reported killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Many people have been injured and are receiving all necessary medical care. First responders have already extinguished the fire, and all emergency and response services continue working at the site. All the circumstances of this tragedy are being established. We will definitely respond to this Russian strike. And it is equally important that our partners also complement our just kinetic responses with their own actions to put pressure on Russia and support Ukraine.

@EvijaUnama And what did you expect from a CPSU member until 1991? Self-criticism?

Fantastic. The chairman of the CSDD board does not consider this incident a reason for him to resign. He does not see his guilt. 🤔

Modern state governance in Latvia – that is what Armands Puče, ahead of the 15th Saeima elections, will ask Edgars Tavars (@Edgars_T) (AS), Minister of Smart Administration and Regional Development, Alvis Hermanis (@AlvisHermanis1), leader of the party “Mēs mainām noteikumus”, the chair of the 14th Saeima's Public Administration and Local Government Commission, @burovs_olegs (GKR), who will run in the 15th Saeima elections from ZZS, and former Director of the State Chancellery Jānis Citskovskis (@citskovskisj), who will run in the 15th Saeima elections from JKP. 👀 Pre-election debates “Runāsim atklāti!” live tonight at 21:03! #tv24_lv #reklāma

CSDD cyber incident leaked data of 1.2 million people - personal codes, names, surnames, addresses, car numbers and payment information. Fraudsters can use it for more credible and targeted fraud attempts. ➡ More about the incident and recommendations: https://t.co/BOkiyL1PlB https://t.co/FTiVqcljIo

🛡️ On Tuesday, 18 August, thanks to the support provided by the National Armed Forces in border surveillance and patrolling, a mobile patrol and the State Border Guard spotted and detained a person whose car contained five people without valid documents. Within the framework of Operation VILKATIS, NBS soldiers and National Guard members conduct border surveillance and patrolling, provide logistics and transport support, and carry out engineering works necessary to strengthen the security of the state's eastern border. During the week since the operation began, 450 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the border. https://t.co/LfR652RaY1

The guys from CSDD probably don't even really understand what a mess they've made. One thing is the possible use of data for fraud, but another is the loss of trust. Many people will now at least for a while cancel these emails from institutions without even opening them.

@AivarsOzo @AndrisKulbergs That's also why for everyone else, if something is still 'unclear', I put this link: https://t.co/kPQAhON1DZ

@jureits @AndrisKulbergs Very good that you will not be there! But Kulbergs has answered vaguely: 'Kulbergs (AS) currently does not rule out cooperation with the opposition party LPV after the 15th Saeima elections.' 'Kulbergs (...) admitted that he positively evaluates LPV chairman Ainārs Šlesers.' https://t.co/QYnOjZEiRU

@J_Hermanis The situation with doctors is sad, but with nurses it's already a catastrophe. The age structure is even worse, salaries are ridiculous, workload is inhuman, and young people are leaving faster. The doctor shortage will come in 5–10 years, the nurse deficit already paralyzes departments and drives existing staff to burnout.
