The superior of the NBS commander is not the political leadership of the Ministry of Defence. The situation, in which the ministry has delayed the purchase of necessary ammunition for interceptor drones, points to the toxicity of the Progressives and confirms the @austsaule programme point, which provides for the NBS commander's independence from the ministry's political leadership and accountability to the Saeima.

16808@J_Hermanis, there is no success story there at all, and without Trump's 20 billion rescue package the country would have simply collapsed already.
From@J_HermanisAt the end of 2023, Javier Milei became president of Argentina 🇦🇷, who immediately started a “general cleaning” 🧹🫧🧽, reducing state functions, bureaucracy, various useless subsidies, etc. Argentina's economy has recovered, GDP growth better than elsewhere in the region. https://t.co/9uQyENnhcx

From@RaivisZeltitsAmong the supporters of “Austošā Saule Latvijai” there is the greatest readiness to continue providing support to Ukraine. I can guarantee that our stance will not change – Ukrainian soldiers and Latvian volunteers in Ukraine, including our board member Sandis Riekstiņš, are also fighting for our freedom. The Ukrainian people are close to us, a European people with a similar historical experience in the fight against Russian imperialism and communism. Ukraine’s victory is in our interests, but every fallen orc in Ukraine is one orc fewer at Latvia’s borders. Ukraine gives us time to improve our defence capabilities and invaluable 21st-century combat experience written in the blood of heroes. Only because of Ukraine’s resistance are those not our own blood. Support for Ukraine is not an expense – it is an investment and respect for the sacrifices of the Ukrainian people for all of us. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!

From@janisdombravaAfter the discovery of a tunnel on the Belarus-Latvia border, I announced that ground scanning must be carried out to detect other possible tunnels. Said - done! Within a few days, in cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior, the Border Guard and the State Police, a solution has been found and soil scanning works are underway. From@liana_langaTomorrow, August 18, at the Regional Court, 34 Brīvības Blvd, at 11:30, Natālija Ābola's claim against me regarding the word 'ābolveidīgie' will be heard. Context: Ābola on Facebook called Latvians in Latvia an 'aggressive minority'; because of that statement she was only summoned for talks at the VDD. I, in turn, commented on Facebook that 'the apple-shaped ones would be better off living elsewhere.' Maybe someone is interested in hearing how this curious case will be resolved. Understandably, Ābola needs some PR before the elections, running from SūVāra, so she's trying very hard -:)

From@2_teikumiI will try to 'figure out' based on this one example 🤓, why @AndrisKulbergs's desire for complete NGO funding data will most likely remain just a wish. The beginning of it all is the €8,434.06 that was funneled into the website of the political agitation foundation Re:Baltica through a supposedly 'competition' that is not publicly available anywhere, which you will search for in vain in State Treasury payments. Do not misunderstand - the State Treasury data is good, but it also has its limitations.

Autumn could be complicated for Latvia in terms of security, as Russia, after its State Duma elections, might be preparing for a new military offensive in Ukraine. At the same time, provocations near NATO borders cannot be ruled out. Russia has not hidden its preparations for mobilization, as well as the accumulation of missiles that could enable more effective attacks on Ukraine. In the TV24 program 'News Top,' said the Chair of the Saeima Foreign Affairs Committee, Ināra Mūrniece (NA). https://t.co/OMTdImGn9u

This time I wholeheartedly support the Education trade union, which says: in education, much can be discussed and changes are needed, but not hastily two weeks before the start of the new school year. https://t.co/XKfJci9JOr
From@Jauna_Vienotiba❗️ Introducing a new exam two weeks before September 1 and cancelling the minimum threshold in all exams, including Latvian, is creating chaos for children, parents, and teachers. Our ministers will vote against chaos in education — and for clarity for children, teachers, and their future.

From@didzisdejusLet's talk about facts: 1) @atis_svinka and Martinovs fired Gaus and killed the IPO at the last moment. That was April 2025 2) In June 2025, the order on AB's strategic goal was amended, but the IPO was not crossed out 3) Martinovs and the then minister @atis_svinka lied to the public that the loan would be repaid. Anyone with any sense knew it wouldn't. And so it happened. 4) With a reduced fleet, Riga cannot be developed as an air traffic hub. 5) The state has lost AB. It was lost by @Briskens with a bond, handing over decisions to creditors who will soon become AB's owners, diluting the state's shares. 6) The capital structure and owners will be arranged in a process Latvia has not seen even during privatization times 7) What and how AB will fly will be decided by the new owners. Latvia will have a small and quiet voice there.
