@Kjiips If someone were to propose withdrawing from conventions that condemn genocide or torture, would that overturn the criminal punishment for these crimes? No. However, it would be wrong to come forward with such proposals. Meanwhile, in connection with the convention on preventing violence, many do not want to see the fallacy.
@AndrejsJudins Mr. Judins, could you provide clarity: how legally binding is EU Directive 2024/1358, which is also in force in Latvia, and what exactly does the denunciation of the Istanbul Convention, which in fact duplicates it, repeal?
@martuzaeva2 NA apparently couldn't agree with ASL, because ASL split off from NA. But overall yes - in a way I have sympathy for both ASL and MMN, but I also don't want to throw away my vote.
@martuzaeva2 That is not possible. JKP supports same-sex marriage and "modern" conservatism. MMN does not really have an ideology, apart from claims that something needs to change.
I repeat - NA, AUSTOŠĀ SAULE, JKP, MMN should have been able to unite and form a conservative national party alliance. Fragmentation due to differing views on a common goal is visible in voting and election results.

@Kjiips Withdrawal from an international convention does not in itself legalize violence, but it is a refusal of the international cooperation provided for in the convention, and such a position harms Latvia's image. SK - Council of Europe convention; Directive - European Union document.

@Lato_Lapsa And if SK is not repealed, there will be no AS either. For conservatives who go against nature, their parties come to an end. @EdvardsSmiltens
@Aivars_Jurkalns@Artillerry@DavisVilums The Progressives were founded as Harmony’s youth organization. The not-ours Ņenaševa led exactly that organization before switching to the Progressives.
Likewise, the Progressives actively lobby for Russian interests and also vote together with Rosļikovs and Šlesers.

@aiga_balode@ivchix@Vejonis In my opinion, this time @ivchix does not make accusations. He writes that soon there will be an opportunity to meet in one place, greet, take photos... Very human.
@ivchix Common, that was when @Vejonis was the president of the state, but Brēmanis was an official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE. Here I really want to defend Vējonis, because Brēmanis had no accusations at that time, and there was no reason to think that the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was doing something wrong.
In his statement, Abu Meri says that the election result must be accepted with respect for the voters' choice and readiness to honestly evaluate one's work https://t.co/JsiQyv4M8mhttps://t.co/1OTzXUKJFG
A horrific strike by two Russian drones on a civilian vessel in neutral waters carrying corn and owned by Türkiye. Azerbaijani and Indian citizens were on board. As of now, unfortunately, we know that the ship’s captain was killed. My condolences. The fate of one other person is still being established. Eleven crew members were rescued, one of them injured.
Ukraine has repeatedly proposed concrete steps to de-escalate the situation and ensure security in the Black Sea. There have also been relevant proposals from third countries. But Russia consistently chooses terror and sinking civilian vessels instead of normal maritime navigation. Pressure is needed to restore global food security. And everyone who is genuinely interested in this must help.
