SIF and most Russian citizens who do not speak Latvian are a living example of that. There has been perpetual imitation for more than 35 years. That is the essential difference.

@J_Hermanis Please add alongside the LV distribution between sectors. In the state sector (for servants without responsibility) wages are often higher than for taxpayers (private entrepreneurs and their employees) with full responsibility.
@kr_klavins Entirely possible, although I have always thought that they have to hide their true views if they have to work in Western countries. But here, perhaps, nature took its course, and it became difficult to control one's mind.
@karlisknauss Sometimes I tend to agree with this opinion. Examples are not far to seek, the best-known of them are: Mamikins, Rosļikovs, Stepaņenko. They all speak Latvian excellently and have a good education.

The Swedish Embassy in Kyiv has been in touch with the Swedish journalist, and thankfully the journalists are reported to be unharmed. Russia must respect international humanitarian law.
