I have invited Andris Kulbergs and @Apvienotais_ tomorrow for talks with @Jauna_Vienotiba. Issues important to society, such as reducing the fuel price by 20 cents, remain unresolved, while constitutional amendments proposed by the opposition are being supported. We expect responsible action from the Prime Minister.
@goldiijs @Apvienotais_ It was, indeed very hard. I bought from the owner his wife's freshly made jars of pickled forest mushrooms... my weakness https://t.co/p0dBpnBYZf
From@goldiijsOnly one question has been bothering me today, namely, @AndrisKulbergs was campaigning in Ķengarags today, and the @Apvienotais_ tent was right next to AHA's delicious chickens, which at that time were just smoking a new batch. Wasn't it hard to campaign next to that aroma, and how many kg of chicken did you buy?

@Trggrhappytalez @JanisIesalnieks Thanks for sharing your experience that has been shaped by life👍🤝 I will briefly explain how my views formed - statistics on economic growth, to which the overall national welfare was subordinated.
From@Trggrhappytalez@CerinsAivis @JanisIesalnieks Before we fought with travelers, with Romanians. Then the real engineers came and raised it all to the next level - small knives, machetes, cocktails. I can take you for a ride sometime. You are like old Russian socks, until you are taken on an excursion you will be going ambiguously.

Wow, Kulbergs is really lying - without saying it directly, he keeps hinting that Lithuania and Estonia are ready to invest in airBaltic!!!
From@rsheremeWe have seen historical photos of prisoners from Auschwitz and Dachau. These photos are from 2026. They show Ukrainian prisoners of war in russian camps. https://t.co/dgD2HyMpes

From@Tas_es_Pats@JazepsBasko I don't see any youthful energy in that long-haired baldy, but does this ZZS-bought commie prostitute have a first and last name that voters should beware of?

This is also about Latvia's budget. Listen. The speaker is not the classic local Twitter loser, but one of the world's most outstanding entrepreneurs and thinkers. There are two options for the budget. The Leninist (progressive) rapid tax increase, or reducing state spending for each and every one. The end result is ultimately the same. And the impact on our wallets is by and large the same. Only in the second case - fairer at the individual level - everyone pays for themselves and takes responsibility for themselves. Rather than waiting for someone else to sponsor them.
From@linasbeliunasPeter Thiel just said America's deficit era is ending. His argument: once interest rates stopped being zero, the West's model of big welfare states, already-high taxes, and large deficits stopped being sustainable. There are only three choices left. 1. Massively cut spending 3. Massively hike taxes 3. Keep kicking the can down the road For close to 20 years, the answer has been #3. Ever since the 2008 crisis, we've just been borrowing more and more money. The result is a fiscal trap that arithmetic, not ideology, is now closing. Think exploding interest costs crowding out everything else. Trust funds running down. No slack left for the next shock. A country that used cheap money to delay every hard choice. The numbers already show the can is getting heavier: > FY2026 deficit already $1.4 trillion through 9 months and on track for $2T or more > Total federal debt around $40T, roughly 123% of GDP > Annual interest now over $1T Then he added the part people usually skip: “My intuition is we're close to the point where that ends, and then you're going to be pushed to a very non-centrist solution of either socialist levels of taxation or some really tough austerity measures.” Zero rates made centrism look possible. Higher rates make it look like delay. It seems America's real fiscal problem may not be starting the spending. It's refusing to admit the cheap-money version of kicking the can has an expiration date.

From@AndrisKulbergsDay No. 81 in the prime minister's chair (TUESDAY, 22 Sept.) — sanctions, “RailBaltica” and work with the state wallet. The morning began with office coordination, documents and preparation for the Cabinet of Ministers meeting. Next — an economic action discussion, a call of Baltic prime ministers, a government meeting and a press conference. 🇪🇺 SANCTIONS — 🇱🇻 HELD OUT TO THE LAST Latvia was the only EU country out of 27 to object until the very last against the removal of Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from the sanctions list. In the end, the choice was not between good and bad. It was between bad and much more terrible — changing the status of two persons or the collapse of the entire sanctions regime. Latvia constructively abstained. As a result, sanctions against almost 3,000 supporters of Russia's war were extended for 36 months, not as before — every six months, meaning no one will be able to touch them for 3 years. Until now, they had to be re-confirmed every 6 months. At the same time, we immediately imposed Latvian national sanctions on Usmanov and Fridman. In Latvia, their funds and economic resources remain frozen. Thanks to @Arlietas, the diplomatic corps and Minister @Braze_Baiba for the work, as well as the President @edgarsrinkevics for coordinating 🇱🇻 position from NY. 🇫🇷🛡️ STRONGER SECURITY FOR LATVIA Through intensive negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron, we reached an agreement to start talks on Latvia joining France's nuclear deterrence initiative. France has also pledged to strengthen its military presence in Latvia — especially in air defence. Security 🇱🇻 is concrete allied presence, capabilities and deterrence. 🚆 “RAILBALTICA” — BALTIC PRIME MINISTERS AGREE ON 2034 With the Lithuanian and Estonian prime ministers, we agreed on a common Baltic position and signed a 3x countries' declaration for the project's implementation. 2030 is not realistic, because RB would have to be implemented without EU funding because the new fund money is only available in 2029, and we have to finance security from the national budget. Therefore, all 3 Baltic countries agree on a realistic first-stage target — 2034. In the next EU financing period, the Baltic states will jointly ask the EU for predictable funding for the project's implementation, while on their side there is a commitment to review unnecessarily high technical requirements to reduce costs by several billion and speed up construction timelines. CUTTING THE COSTS OF THE STATE APPARATUS I signed an order to freeze the base salaries of officials also in 2027. It also applies to the prime minister, ministers and Saeima deputies. The Ministry of Finance has been tasked with preparing proposals to limit state spending — reviewing bonuses, service spending, long-standing vacancies and other expenses. Money will no longer be squandered in DECEMBER. It is also required to freeze all DECEMBER procurement. We in the state have a habit of unnecessarily spending the state budget in December with unnecessary expenses — it must be stopped so that the money stays in 2027. If we demand that the state save, we must start with ourselves. 🛂 CLEARER MIGRATION POLICY The government approved a 71-measure plan for stricter control of third-country nationals' entry, employment and studies. Some proposals still require amendments to laws, but the direction is clear — Latvia needs a migration policy that actually works. It was not a short day. But the prime minister's chair is not meant for comfort.

National identity — or the idea of us as a specific community with one origin and unifying features: language, culture, borders and history — was and is the main justifying argument of statehood. Without Latvians there would be no Latvia. That is why origin is something more than ethnicity. It is a worldview, an inherited space of values, a system of signs understandable only to members of the community. Yet it is not an exclusive space closed to others: anyone who recognises it as beautiful and useful can join it. I am a Latvian, and that is one of the parts of my identity that dictates the decisions I make. I am aware of the nation as a value to be preserved. That is why I consider the Progressives to be among Latvia's greatest enemies, whose candidates have deliberately refused to call themselves Latvians, because “ethnicity means nothing”. With such a stance they attack the fundamental element of statehood, because if ethnicity is removed, the meaning of borders and culture disappears. Only the individual is assessed as a number in a table. Such logic also justifies immigration from third-world countries. Riga full of “Young Latvians”. Only national self-confidence can protect us.
From@JanisIesalnieksThe claim that immigration ensures GDP growth is total nonsense. Moreover - Western Europe's experience shows that immigration from barbarian countries places a huge burden on the budget. As a result, local residents are punished twice - paying with their taxes for their own replacement. https://t.co/QxOzpOTA0B

National Alliance wants to make life harder for those who still trade with Russia.
@Krisjanis_K Examples please. E.g. from Bahrain, where I once worked: currently they face the problem that imported labor (they really are half-slaves in real life there) sends money to their home countries, as a result the local economy starts lacking circulating money. Approximately 60/40 imported/native population.
From@Krisjanis_KAivi, those are factual nonsense. There is NO example where migration from Muslim countries to Europe has brought even economic benefit. The only example where it could be is the Gulf states. Where these migrants are immediately put in a half-slave status, they have no social benefits and free medicine, and they are regularly deported to their homeland for prevention purposes. Such practice fortunately/unfortunately is incompatible with LV's status as an EU member state.

@JanisIesalnieks I feel there will be a hefty backlash for expressing any grain of thought😅 Jāni, I think we don't debate the fact that Domabrava and I will brandish our G36s at whoever needs it, if such a need arises. My line of thought — we plan/act wisely in the context of migration, without losing identity.
From@JanisIesalnieksIreland is not a good example. There maybe everything hasn't gone that far yet, but right now the replacement of the native population is happening even faster than in neighbouring Britain. And the Irish are rebelling against this policy, even though LSM won't show you that. The only positive contribution comes from those immigrants who don't particularly need to be attracted — who are drawn not by social benefits but by the reduction of bureaucratic barriers for the business environment.

From@taisniba_comWhat has changed now that the defense minister is NOT the Progressive @AndrisSpruds? We see that relations with Ukraine and Israel have immediately improved. These are countries that can provide significant support to Latvia's security, because they have the newest military technologies and a willingness to cooperate with our country. This is another proof that @Progresivie should not be allowed near the government. The party's left-wing ideology undermines Latvia's security interests.
