16036From@atis_svinkaSaeima cannot demand efficiency and thrift from the entire state administration while itself remaining outside full independent control. Financial audit is a necessary first step. However, in the long term a constitutionally correct solution must also be found for reviewing the expediency of administrative expenditure, clearly separating such reviews from the parliament's political decisions. It is important to complete the amendments during this Saeima term rather than leave them again for the next Saeima. Yesterday the Saeima supported in the first reading amendments that would allow the State Audit Office to verify the correctness of the Saeima's annual report. Currently the State Audit Office does not audit the Saeima.

Political scientist: how the story about Stepanenko's father will affect the elections
Municipalities are an entire parallel system (to the central government), which in total costs more than the average for OECD countries. A politically very strong group, which is why they also manage to take more from the budget. But. The basic problem behind the costliness is teachers’ salaries; the state provides their base. If education policy is a priority at 5 and the Ministry of Education and Science recently tried to introduce classes of three children, then in the end you come to kaiser-court politics. Several “governesses” for every child. And that is simply very expensive. That is why the number of children is falling, but spending is rising.
From@Astridamains@guntarsv @aseradens The state budget's increasing transfers to municipalities aren't really related to grabbing, are they?

Definitely vote for the “United List”. You won’t be disappointed.🤡🤡🤡 https://t.co/FqF4Q3tiDJ https://t.co/YnLEHeMCHt
From@RaivisZeltitsStill the question is relevant - was this already known to institutions in 2022? Maybe we should pay 'The Insider' and 'De facto' for intelligence? Is such information being saved for a time shortly before elections? This, regarding internal security, is identical to a downed drone, showing that neither warning nor air defense works for us.

From@EriksZarahovicsIf you vote for ASL, will you throw away your vote? No. In case of failure, you will give the party the opportunity to receive state funding and expand its activities much more widely.

From@ivchixI made a mistake with the year - already in 2022, when the full-scale war began, Sergejs Fedotovs started helping the RF army. That year he also started making gifts to his daughter Jūlija Stepaņenko. https://t.co/Qo1Phdl7DY https://t.co/tnTJgdaOc7

On Elksniņš's office door, which every Daugavpils economic manager sees before the morning meeting, is @aseradens. The minister knew that next year a budget crisis would set in. He knew where their own tradition of squabbling would lead, but he slipped off the stage, so now others have to swallow what Vienotība cooked up🫠
From@Heinrih5Today in Diena Kulbergs indirectly says that he wants a coalition with the Pro and Unity who have driven the country into a swamp, which means that nothing will change in Latvia and the same Unity political line will be continued, and after a year Kulbergs will be loved as little as they hate Siliņa now. https://t.co/79Vh7xOeam

From@guntarsvOne of the largest taxpayers in Latgale and specifically in Daugavpils is 'Latvijas maiznieks'. On a Latvian scale, every third 'loaf' comes from Daugavpils. And right now they are investing another 15 million in expanding the plant. Every plant is a valuable contribution to the Latvian economy! However, there we almost had to rewrite Elksniņš's state finances. At minus 20 degrees you would sign more than that. That was the option he mentioned...😅

That's so, and? Right next to them are the French, for example, there are other plants. Investments go to Latvia, jobs and taxes too. The worst is something else. New people haven't come for about 10-20 years, that development is basically at the expense of the existing ones. Good that some of them invest. And it's important to keep them in Latgale, because some have thought of moving away, they try to talk them out of it.
From@fjodoorz@guntarsv One of you two, with Kučinskis, could have mentioned that it's a 100% Estonian company. Just so that the picture of enthusiasm would be more accurate.

@Bertaane @KokinsIngus Good that books have such a low rate. All those whose income hovers around the minimum wage buy a lot of reading material :) I'm not about imposition, but about politicians' regulatory thinking, looking for arguments why not to do something, because 'the partners won't allow it'.
From@Bertaane@KokinsIngus @Krusts3 Well, it's a pity, because we are far from 15%. But books get 5%. And the pilot project on the reduced rate is still in effect for food products. So where is the imposition that the original post was about?

From@GiorgiaMeloniToday we approved in the Council of Ministers the decree on school. A 30% limit in classes for students who do not adequately know Italian, more tools to learn our language and stop burqa and niqab in schools. Common-sense tools that do not divide, but help to truly integrate, avoiding ghetto classes and giving all students the same opportunities. This is the direction we want to continue to follow: a school that integrates without giving up rules, that supports those with more difficulties and that puts everyone in a position to start from the same point.
