This time I want to thank LSM for giving a voice to the new generation of Progressive Marxists. I don't even know how to characterize this... maybe it's not necessary, just listen... MELNI https://t.co/nGTYNEWwYz

It turns out that a juļka can support terror against Ukraine -> receive money for it -> conduct financial operations in Latvian banks without any problems. Do we have nothing to say to the president?

@ltvzinas Do you have an editor there? I read that there will be 26 polling stations in Krāslava and started thinking where in Krāslava could there be so many stations. It's across the whole municipality.

Several municipalities on the eastern border have had to urgently change the composition of many polling station staff. Trips to Belarus and Russia are one of the reasons why the State Security Service has banned them from working at polling stations. The State Security Service confirmed to LSM's Latgale desk that a total of 6,000 polling station workers have been checked. 🖥️ https://t.co/ePWhPGryaA

Cutting off the tap to Ukraine: the return. Madame Le Pen's program is clear: sacrificing our security and offering Ukraine and Europe to Putin on a silver platter. Ukraine is our shield. Abandoning it means placing a target on our back. Russia is just waiting for that. Russia is just waiting for you.

@ruuzis @snurosnare @guntarsv I think it's a regional effect. But overall, exports are the only thing that makes us wealthier. Everything else is redistribution of existing wealth. Even though in reports that redistribution shows better numbers. If there is no export, there will be nothing to redistribute.

@poznaks @snurosnare @guntarsv Good argument, I hadn't thought about that. Of course, we can't easily calculate how much local consumption money per person the Regulation frees up, but intuitively it's clear it's not zero. I just intuitively also expected an advantage in taxes - on average 2k per year per person for such a company seems little.

DoD’s announcement that it is restoring a forward presence in Lithuania & Estonia was necessary and positive. The best deterrence for the Baltics is U.S. military boots on the ground. Both countries built great facilities to support our troops. Latvia has an American Guard presence. All three countries cherish their freedoms and their alliance with the U.S.

@ruuzis @snurosnare @guntarsv The difference is that Depo redistributes local money. Moreover, selling imported goods for which money is counted away. Regula basically exports. So it brings money into Latvia from abroad. Although Regula pays less in direct taxes, it overall makes us wealthier more than Depo.

@poznaks @snurosnare @guntarsv But somehow strange that Depo one employee contributes more to the budget. Obviously I don't understand something or can't at the moment, but those numbers are what they are.

Ratings are not an election forecast. If a rating is supposed to influence how a person votes, then who are the chosen ones whose votes determine election results?! What you are preaching undermines the current electoral system. You know, @partijaMMN's goal is not to destroy anything, but to fix what such misinterpretations of ratings do to democracy.

Why is the rating important? Because 5% is the boundary between a political idea and representation in the Saeima. If a list does not cross this threshold, the votes cast for it do not participate in the allocation of mandates. Make a choice not for your ego but for the future of your Latvia. https://t.co/Rki81ABMau

“We must stop interfering with teachers. The main thing is the centralized exam, and we will assess whether the program and methodology chosen by the teacher is right or wrong. But it is not good to get involved and interfere in the work process,” said Karina Sprūde (“Sovereign Power”/“Union of New Latvians”) during the #ChooseLatviasFuture debates in Valmiera. #Elections2026

“Times change, and artificial intelligence is coming in. We can resist it, but those young people will use it anyway. They must be the ones who, through this artificial intelligence, much faster increase learning opportunities and also learn things that will help their future,” said Edvards Smiltēns (AS) at the #ChooseLatvia'sFuture debates in Valmiera. #Elections2026
