@janisliksts @attistibai Exactly.
From@janislikstsOk, decided. In these elections for @attistibai. They don't have depth of lineup, but that's okay. Those few adults who will get in will be needed in that group.

News about Stepaņenko's father's cooperation with Russia could deter Latvian voters, says political scientist (9)
Survey reveals which politicians people would rather see as prime minister and which not so much - https://t.co/nFERmmAb7l via @nralv
Stepaņenko's father added to Latvia's list of undesirable persons

China's industry is pushing Europe out of its traditional markets. ECB analysis shows that China increasingly competes in high value-added sectors such as equipment manufacturing, vehicles, and technology. Germany is especially threatened, as its export structure is most similar to China's. This also affects Central European and Baltic companies that are part of Germany's industrial supply chains. Latvia's risk is remaining in the role of a low value-added supplier. Our response must be specialization in the defense industry, electronics, energy, data, and other areas where we can become a full member of Nordic and European production chains. European competitiveness cannot be defended only with tariffs against China. Cheaper energy, a larger capital market, faster innovation adoption, and joint European procurement are needed. https://t.co/A3vbNOhKEP
From@ZelenskyyUaNo Russian official ever imagined that “Army General Winter”, which had fought on Russia’s side for centuries, would one day switch sides and support those defending themselves from Russia. We will make that happen this winter if Russia continues to target our energy system and our heating. Ukrainians understand that this winter could be very harsh for us. But in response, we will have no choice but to make it painful for Russia too. And that’s exactly why we say that de-escalation steps are needed before winter. From an address to UNGA. (6/7)

Will Kulbergs enter a coalition with Šlesers? What can we conclude from Stepaņenko's composure? How do NA leaders distance themselves from a misogynist? On these and other questions, "Ir" colleagues Ieva Jakone, @AivarsOzo and @raudseps discuss on "Šķiltava". 🔗 https://t.co/OXK0XUF7YB https://t.co/jNyXV3o9X1
Saeima cannot demand efficiency and thrift from the entire state administration while itself remaining outside full independent control. Financial audit is a necessary first step. However, in the long term a constitutionally correct solution must also be found for reviewing the expediency of administrative expenditure, clearly separating such reviews from the parliament's political decisions. It is important to complete the amendments during this Saeima term rather than leave them again for the next Saeima. Yesterday the Saeima supported in the first reading amendments that would allow the State Audit Office to verify the correctness of the Saeima's annual report. Currently the State Audit Office does not audit the Saeima.
From@KasparsZ2@Tuksumsz It is clearly visible that the ban on firewood etc. has not gone away... slightly postponed, slightly toned down, etc. Same with the whole green course - it is not on the front pages of newspapers; it is being arranged quietly, bringing to the forefront our everyday roasts - migrants, sanctions, Dalbiņšes, etc.

From@FNCGlobalNewsLatvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs warned that Iran’s military cooperation with Russia is helping Moscow sharpen its battlefield capabilities, pointing to Iranian-designed drones now being modernized by Russian forces. Rinkēvičs told Fox News Digital that Latvia has already approved sending explosive ordnance disposal specialists to support a US-led coalition in the Strait of Hormuz. He also said Latvia does not see an imminent Russian invasion, but warned sabotage, cyberattacks and information warfare remain growing threats along NATO’s eastern flank.

Will Latvia give up residence permits in exchange for investments? And how effective will Latvia's sanctions against Russian oligarchs be after changes to the European Union sanctions list? "Rīta Panorāma" talk with Interior Minister Jānis Dombrava (NA). But the song "Vakardiena" tells of time that continuously becomes memories. Musician Kaspars Markševics will visit us. At the end of the programme, musicians Jānis Stībelis and Gacho will visit us. They have made a new joint song "Tikai tālāk", which calls not to give up in the face of life's difficulties.

@Bertaane Europe has set a minimum threshold below which a rate may not be set. We may increase it as much as we want.
From@Bertaane@Krusts3 I understood neither you nor Kulbergs. Each country sets its own VAT rate. Europe sets regulations.

From@advaldisalliks@Lato_Lapsa In my opinion, this orchestrated, engineered (as you wish) uproar (read - black PR) is from the same shelf on which, just before the current Saeima elections, the 'news' crawled in about the millions that @SlesersAinars allegedly receives every year and so on from the hand of Vladimir Vladimirovich.
