"I am generally very sorry that the Latvian state spends time and resources to include people in sanctions. We are in an economic hole, we need to think about our people, about our Latvia, not about how to put another Latvian citizen on the blacklist," said Pāvels Kuzmins ("Stabilitātei!") at the #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni debates in Valmiera. #Vēlēšanas2026
Preparing for the 15th Saeima elections, Latvian Television is organizing a broad series of pre-election debates, visiting all electoral districts. The final regional debates take place in Valmiera. Live: https://t.co/1AUqteeXzw#IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni#Vēlēšanas2026

Today I was in Daugavpils, and we also visited several companies. I was surprised. They produce world-class equipment that is exported to 170 countries. German police, foreign services, airports. What kind of equipment? Passport inspection scanners, for example. Equipment for examining forged documents and the like. Our airport has them too. There is only one country in the world where their operations are planned to be cancelled. That is Latvia. Which country to evacuate to? Maybe not necessary. We will try to fix this legislator's mistake.
Technologies used to check passports, banknotes, driver's licences, etc., and used by security services around the world. These technologies are produced in a region that in recent years has been regularly mentioned particularly in the security context – Latgale, Daugavpils, at the company “Regula Baltija” https://t.co/g4IXLikqp5
Very bad. It turns out that by the end of the term only eight deputies remain in the faction of the Offended List. Or maybe... the rest are miserable cowards and have pulled out their cards just so their opinion doesn't show. https://t.co/txK4qp7EE0https://t.co/3Jg4TTwBN3
Populism @Jekaba11 rides a high wave. What won't deputies offer to 'twist' before 3.10. But pre-election time also has its benefits. Today we supported in the final reading amendments to the Criminal Law that provide criminal penalties for cartelists. The attempt to do this in 2024 failed.
"The Insider" journalists have found that the company of Sergejs Fedotovs, father of Prime Minister candidate Jūlija Stepaņenko ("Suverēnā vara/Apvienība Jaunlatvieši"), produced anti-tank obstacles, or "dragon's teeth", in 2022. Fedotovs explained to Latvian Television that the obstacles were built to prevent sabotage attempts in Belgorod. 🖥️ https://t.co/wDkeg0UKT1
@suvajevs Šuvajev! There are only two genders, MALE and FEMALE! Marriage is a union between a MALE and a FEMALE! Stop messing with Latvia with your invented 117 genders!
In four years, I have rarely seen such great political cowardice as the United List and the National Alliance showed today. Supported for further review are both Šlesers' latest nightmares in the Constitution and Šlesers' attempts to influence an independent judiciary.
The EU extended sanctions against Russia, but removed Usmanov and Fridman from the list. This is a very bad signal. It unequivocally means that Europe's sanctions wall is beginning to crumble for various political reasons, and the whole world sees it. This way we give a way out to anyone on the sanctions list, and there are about 3,000 people on it. We will certainly talk about this in Parliament, because it must not be.
As I already wrote, many politicians don't like election campaigns. Then you have to meet many people, journalists, go to debates, answer questions that are not always pleasant. It seems stressful and burdensome to many. Something that has to be endured once every four years, so you can then sit calmly in the Saeima again.
Personally, I feel the opposite - I like election campaigns. I like meeting people, I like traveling around Latvia, I like getting to know, learning, listening. I also like debating and arguing my point of view.
And that's why one thing I've committed to - if I get elected, I'll be just as active and available after the elections as I am now before them. I want to be exactly your deputy. I want you to know that you have a deputy in the Saeima. A deputy you can write to, meet, and tell your opinions, criticism, suggestions. We are a small country and a small people; we can be very close to each other, meet, and talk.
I want to establish a new order, a new standard for how deputies communicate with their voters. So vote for me, follow my social media, and let's do politics together.
List 11. Latvijas attīstībai 🎾 Choice for smart people :)
The 15th Saeima elections are coming soon! Meet the candidates of list No. 12 one last time before the important choice on October 3. We will be in Valka, Rēzekne and Rīga. See you there! https://t.co/8q9BcEHalP
Russia’s army dragon’s-teeth money funds the “candidate for prime minister”. What else is this if not Russian interference? Dirty, bloody money is influencing the political situation in Latvia. And how much more of such money has come in illegally, without being declared? https://t.co/nQ5AiFBqnv
This is not much different from why people went to Doma square a few months ago. United List and National Alliance in their deepest essence are and remain representatives of the Russian 'values' imported by Šlesers. Moreover, they are really crude. https://t.co/CTwrzMBS6Z
Nonsense again. Actually, he's crying about transgender people. If I could, I'd put all invented genders into the Constitution. https://t.co/qIJD5nJA98
The Constitution is the Constitution. It cannot become a notepad for election campaigning! It is sad today to see how, once again (similar to the Istanbul Convention), the prime minister's party is yielding to Šlesers' election agitation.
@EdmundsJurevics What are you raving about? There is no Kremlin propaganda in biology textbooks, but the truth. It is precisely you and your party who divide society when you rave about other genders. Where in UN human rights is there even a single word about other genders?
Today the Saeima majority fell for a dangerous provocation by the Šlesers faction – solving non-existent problems in the style of Kremlin propaganda, dividing society and influencing the judiciary. Even before the vote, from the rostrum I called on the United List to avoid the mistake they made last autumn by allowing themselves to be drawn into the story of denouncing the Istanbul Convention, but to my unpleasant surprise, today too AS deputies not only voted for the Šlesers' provocation, but many AS deputies also shouted claims during the Saeima session that they would support the denunciation of the convention against violence in the next Saeima. On behalf of the @Jauna_Vienotiba faction, I call on @AndrisKulbergs to ensure and publicly confirm what is stipulated in the coalition agreement – not amending the Constitution and not deviating from human rights standards and the independence of the judiciary.
Of course, it’s good that drills are being held. BUT why is that news? The fact that it is news says everything about our readiness.
In the fifth year of war, these should have been the fifth drills at this school, and such drills should have been held every year in every school.
Unity is directly responsible for this, and especially Kozlovskis🤬 https://t.co/YyLqf7kSHU
Šuvajevs wants to say that if it weren't for Šlesers, there would be countless genders in Latvia, everyone could marry criss-cross, change these genders while still children, and that would be the Progressives' dreamland? Great LPV advertising. https://t.co/g63ll9eTS6
