Foreign Minister Baiba Braže (JV) has decided to add Russian citizen Sergei Fedotov to the list of persons non grata for Latvia and to ban him from entering Latvia for an indefinite period – he is the father of Jūlija Stepaņenko, the prime ministerial candidate of the party “Suverēnā vara/Apvienība Jaunlatvieši”.

In four years, I have rarely seen such great political cowardice as the United List and the National Alliance showed today. Supported for further review are both Šlesers' latest nightmares in the Constitution and Šlesers' attempts to influence an independent judiciary.

❌ I have decided to include the person unwanted for Latvia (persona non grata) in the list and to ban entry into Latvia indefinitely ⛔️ for RF citizen Sergey Fedotov under Section 104, Part 3 of the Immigration Law.

The new coalition - NA, AS, ZZS and LPV will amend the Constitution to specify that there are two genders in Latvia. Apparently, there are problems understanding that without amending the Constitution. Kremlin propaganda has worked well in these parties. During the debate, AS deputies shouted that they would vote for withdrawal from the convention against violence (Istanbul Convention). 😤

@GundegaFelicity @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mrs. Braže primarily need to do their own job. And this Russian bandit story is a direct task of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Am I wrong?

@CerinsAivis @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs Exactly what, in your opinion, is the failure? A protest against the removal of specific oligarchs from sanctions?

@Pabriks The Progressives would say that we should cooperate with Palestine, because they know how to build rockets from toilet pipes and make dynamite from soap.

Good news that gives reason to hope that Israel's technology and defense industry cooperation with Latvian technology companies is a ministerial priority. This will increase Latvia's defense capabilities and strengthen the economy. https://t.co/02BxHh6xwF

WHO RUNS THE STATE? One of the causes of Latvia's political failure is voluntary renunciation of freedom of choice. Namely, we have delegated part of our sovereignty to international institutions, which have given us privileges in return, but at the same time have tied our hands in some sectors, allowing us to act only according to laws developed abroad. Twenty years ago this arrangement seemed desirable, because it gave more than it asked, and no one could even imagine how alien it would become later. But today we must ask: at what price did we buy this situation? In less than a generation we have raised such spineless politicians who are unable to act independently, coordinating a plethora of decisions with the European Commission. Did you know that it forbids member states from arbitrarily regulating excise taxes on fuel, as well as value added tax? To avoid 'market distortion'. It has set the minimum rate of these taxes that all member states must observe, otherwise Estonians from Tallinn will come to buy cheap Latvian diesel. Thus, Latvian citizens' elected Saeima deputies and even the prime minister seemingly cannot do anything to reduce fuel prices, which directly affect the standard of living of the population. Overregulation has regulated Latvia to the level of a colony, where the prime minister or any other minister, as an emissary of foreign power, explains why we are not allowed to govern our country as we wish. Is there any part of sovereignty still left in the Latvian parliament? It is time to restore the principle of subsidiarity, i.e., the idea that laws are made locally. A law that affects your daily life must be driven and adopted by you. In Latvian, this is also called independence.

@Lato_Lapsa to the one who said "drop the shackles"😎 👉if SV is recognized as an illegitimate party based on currently revealed facts, but is allowed to participate in elections - then afterward some failed party can challenge the election results, even the legality of the elections. I wonder who could benefit from that? 🩳Very😂

The fact that in almost five months nothing precise and complete has been done except vigiki, Kulbergs justifies by saying that coalition partners do not allow it. First, right before the elections the prime minister had a unique opportunity to carry out bold reforms, because partners resisting them would look bad - now everyone is a fierce reformer, if one listens to pre-election rhetoric. Second, if the ratings are not lying, then for the next 4 years Kulbergs will again have the same coalition partners and again a good reason to excuse himself that he would like to, but those others, you see, don't allow it. The ratings show only one thing - it is not too hard to fool Latvian voters.
