The Constitution Protection Bureau has previously informed senior state officials about the substantial monetary gifts to his daughter from the father of Jūlija Stepaņenko, the prime ministerial candidate of the party alliance 'Suverēnā vara/Apvienība Jaunlatvieši', who lives in Russia, reports LETA. However, at present there is no evidence that would prevent the politician from running in the Saeima elections. https://t.co/UjSR82yxMh

@normundsbergs There is already something in stock now. Soon we will meet and discuss options what to buy more or some other solution. Approximately 12 million needed. Useful thing for the economy. On top of economic losses over 200 million, not to mention social, this is a no brainer.

Yes. A pontoon bridge would be a useful thing for the economy. https://t.co/dmgRPw0kEe

This is a question that @Braze_Baiba at least until the elections will not want to answer - because it is impossible to explain properly why Fridman (who has dragged himself back to Russia) can be removed from the sanctions with Latvia's support, but his former business partner Aven cannot, even though he doesn't intend to go to Russia…. Is all this Aven circus in Braže's performance just a way for the Komsomol girl Braže to gain cheap popularity, because she simply has no other achievements in foreign affairs??😈🤡

I will please my ill-wishers. I feel this bad for the first time in these months. Spending millions pointlessly in one day is very, very bleak. I see every day how difficult it is to scrape together even a few million for a good initiative (recently we gave a few more million for palliative care), but like this... and everything goes to waste in one go. Damn😏

Violence is incompatible with the office of a judge. Position, status, or authority cannot serve as a cover for violent conduct. ❗️ In connection with publicly reported information regarding Zemgale Regional Court judge Raimonds Rincs' possible violence against his wife, I have requested his written explanation. It must be provided by September 23, and after evaluating all circumstances, I will decide whether to initiate disciplinary proceedings. Society entrusts a judge with the power to judge the actions and fates of others. Therefore, he himself must adhere to the highest professional ethics and conduct standards – not only in the courtroom, but also outside it. The publicly reported allegations are very serious, and they must not go without careful examination and appropriate action.

@AndrisKulbergs will Latvia not object and agree to remove sanctions? https://t.co/kS45qcFFcp

EU prepares to lift sanctions on Usmanov and Fridman Ambassadors from 27 EU countries have agreed to remove Russian billionaires Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from the sanctions lists, Reuters reports. The decision will take effect if no country objects in the coming hours. Their removal became part of a deal to extend sanctions against thousands of other Russian individuals and organizations for another three years. France and Slovakia advocated lifting the sanctions on Usmanov. Luxembourg sought Fridman’s removal from the list. Both businessmen have been under EU sanctions since 2022.

On TikTok, they're telling at length how bad the Waterfront project is. I agree, Andris! But… it's a project accepted by the Riga municipality, and the municipality is currently led by the mayor from Progresīvie. So maybe you should also do something—fight, cancel the permits, and don't build the infrastructure…
