Let's call this a learning process - the film producers association is the first in 2026 to learn how what was said before the elections differs from what is done after the elections. In the association's pre-election debates, representatives of AS, JV, and NA publicly and passionately supported forcing streaming platforms to use Latvian-produced content. Now no longer. https://t.co/0I0YJBZ6Gn

“[H]e was much more subtle back then.” No, he wasn’t. Jemberga and Ragozin were co-authoring pieces about Ukrainian “race war plans” in 2019. Ragozin was later arguing, before the full-scale invasion, that Russia’s military pressure was “a response, not a provocation” and that Ukraine’s Western alignment was driving escalation. That is why @rebaltica’s attempt to distance itself from him now rings hollow. These narratives did not suddenly appear in 2022. They were already helping shape an information environment in which Ukraine was portrayed as extremist, provocative and partly responsible for Russian aggression — precisely the kind of framing that weakened the political case for supporting and arming Ukraine. You are too eager to offer everyone a clean exit: they were fooled, he became worse, bygones be bygones. But Re:Baltica did not merely fail to notice him. It chose to work with him and gave institutional credibility to narratives that, before the invasion, worked against the case for treating Ukraine as the victim of Russian aggression and for strengthening it militarily.

@jaunups In elections, liberals are in the minority, so the convention must be repealed, rather than torturing the conservative majority with the liberal minority's convention on social genders and other nonsense.

In my opinion, no public poll is needed. What is needed is to leave this issue alone and not touch it. That is exactly what the broad electorate just said, https://t.co/F1h6LfuZJd, by crossing out Līdaka and the other fake “conservative” crowd. Latvia and society expect prioritising the economy and fighting bureaucratic nonsense. For Kulbergs, this is all so elementary to understand, but instead the messing with society will continue.

By the end of the year, Lithuania is reducing ticket prices by 50% on domestic trains and long-distance buses. Almost six million euros have been earmarked for the support. More than a million passengers used a similar offer in the spring. In times of expensive fuel, the state can not only compensate for car use, but also offer people a more advantageous alternative — public transport. Such a time-limited and precisely measurable solution should also be tried in Latvia, as PROGRESĪVIE already proposed in the spring. The result should be assessed by the additional number of passengers, family savings, and how many people would choose a train or bus instead of a car. https://t.co/OeNnW9zSN0

Ukraine’s just responses to all Russian strikes against our people. Over the past day, our warriors struck four targets that help Russia finance and wage its brutal war – two oil facilities and a training ground in the Perm, Samara, and Astrakhan regions. There was also a response in the Black Sea.

@BSmildzina @Aivars_Jurkalns @ktn_rs If something seems simple at first glance, it is most likely more complicated than we think. If it were possible, such salaries would have been paid long ago. Simply raising salaries is a so-called “dead end”.

@Aivars_Jurkalns @ktn_rs @CerinsAivis And then we put vatniks in power and wonder why a bread baker who works nights and a nurse who works hard in round-the-clock shifts cannot be paid a mere 2–2.5 thousand for hard work that leaves consequences for their health.

The Saeima cannot demand transparency from the entire state administration while itself remaining outside full external control. The Saeima committee supported a proposal to allow the State Audit Office to verify the correctness of parliament's annual report, thus taking the first step. The Saeima is currently the only state institution that the State Audit Office does not audit. https://t.co/AhEqwPDPCH
