Everyone expresses their indignation that Uzulnieks drove a car drunk. No one has any complaints that he runs a ministry drunk ...

My statement on airBaltic Today, airBaltic is initiating financial restructuring in a US court under Chapter 11. This time we are not buying a few more months of life support for the airline. We are beginning to solve problems at their core. It must be admitted that negotiations with bondholders were not progressing. Several investors, who had bought the bonds on the exchange at about 70 percent of their nominal value, were more reliant on airBaltic's liquidation and recovery of pledged assets rather than on restructuring the company. Another loan of up to 257 million euros at an annual rate of 25% was offered. That could provide the company with money for the near term, but would not solve either the previously accumulated debt or the problem of aircraft lease obligations. Therefore, I did not accept this offer as a long-term solution. Chapter 11 is a US court-supervised financial restructuring that allows airBaltic to continue flying while restructuring debts and lease agreements and attracting the financing needed for operations. Simply put, it is a protective shield that gives the company time and legal protection against creditor claims, allowing management to implement a full restructuring plan. This does not yet mean that all of airBaltic's problems are solved. But this is one of the best currently possible solutions to ensure the company's viability and give it the chance to stand on its own feet. For the process, airBaltic has received commitments from financiers to provide 350 million euros in new financing at a 12% rate. International financial market participants such as banks Morgan Stanley, Barclays, and private financiers Hayfin Capital Management, Oaktree Capital, and Strategic Value Partners have expressed readiness to finance. This is a significant and positive signal of trust. At the same time, I have instructed the Ministry of Transport to declassify restricted government documents related to airBaltic, so that the public finally has full information about the decisions made within the company, the use of state money, and the consequences of those decisions. The most important news for passengers is that airBaltic continues operations, the planes continue flying, and purchased tickets remain valid. This is not yet the finish and not a victory statement. But a process that addresses airBaltic's problems at their core has finally begun.

Many refer to what ZZS said in interviews that they don't have alcohol problems among themselves. Perhaps it's exactly so. Perhaps ZZS simply doesn't see a problem in alcoholism.

"one thousand euros in cash and a bottle of alcohol worth several tens of euros" - it is clear that this is also an offense that should be punished, but by chasing only the small things, the state will pay more to catch and try to convict these persons than the harm from the criminal act. From KNAB I expected tangible results in large-scale corruption cases, such as the Oligarchs case, the Riga Transport 270 million € procurement case, the "Osinovskis million" case, the "Butterfly Bath" case, Aleksejenko's 100,000 € bribe case, Magoņš and Osinovskis 800,000 €, the market/waste/bus washing in Jelgava, etc.

Security without a strong economy is not possible in the long term. That is why Latvia needs decisive leadership that understands the needs of both the state and the regions. Thank you to the Chairman of Ventspils Municipality Council, Andis Zariņš, for support and confidence that Latvia can be in safe hands! 🇱🇻 https://t.co/6u5O4Kgvk5

Šuvajevs talks about people 'with a different skin color,' but at the same time we must not see 'a different skin color.' Because if we see it, that is racism... This also well marks the Achilles heel of left-liberals. https://t.co/cEdNJQ2qBx

That would provide an answer to quite a few questions.

Today's question: Could it be that Reinis Uzulnieks has been detained by Edgars Gorskis, the brother of Ivars Gorskis, candidate No. 9 on the ZZS Zemgale list and his political competitor?

He indicated that, in his opinion, this decision is correct, because the Minister of Agriculture Uldis Augulis (ZZS), whom the Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs (AS) assigned to perform the duties of the Minister of Welfare, has experience in the position of Minister of Welfare https://t.co/iZr9Cy7hys https://t.co/ctbjvdU6EY

Those 42 million, for example, are for CO2 quotas. The company buys them on the ETS market in Europe and submits them to LVĢMC (the local ETS administrator). These quotas are cancelled, they give no income to the budget. Green Deal obligations. The rest are liabilities, but their actual recoverability without the initiated process is practically zero. In the context of the national economy, it is better for the company to fly. The alternative was not flying. I really don't know what's 'funny' about that.

@guntarsv ...against aggressive commercial practice from suppliers and creditors 🤣 This is especially funny. List of creditors: [..] State Ltd. 'Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre' - 42.432 million US dollars, the Latvian state - 20.067 million US dollars, VID - 15.428 million US euros.

P.S. Statistics - out of 29 X main posts created after this government was approved, 15 are about and around Kulberg. The rest are one each about Kučinskis, Valainis, Melnis, and Dombrava. And then the remaining 11 about the government as a whole, obesity, alcohol problems. Not one about Unity. Or, for example, about the Progressives.

It may be fine to dislike a politician, that's ok. But the obsession with which this, well, ok, 'independent' fact-checker (I can't bring myself to call her a journalist) most often pointlessly picks on exactly @AndrisKulbergs could indicate either a morbid obsession or some other hidden desire => https://t.co/5dh43bkYnn

Today it is unlikely a better option could be found. This is a real decision, critics will have to agree. Let's hope AirBaltic will get out of the sea of schemes of Gauss and Co. The good news is that through this process, finally the losses inflicted on the state and taxpayers can be recorded, and then we will see if the prosecutor's office will be as eager as in the timber industry case...:))
