From@Krisjanis_KToday it is unlikely a better option could be found. This is a real decision, critics will have to agree. Let's hope AirBaltic will get out of the sea of schemes of Gauss and Co. The good news is that through this process, finally the losses inflicted on the state and taxpayers can be recorded, and then we will see if the prosecutor's office will be as eager as in the timber industry case...:))

Quotas on migration should be considered, since other EU countries also have them, but what other politicians in Latvia offer is based on racism, not professional assessment, says Andris Šuvajevs.

@BaibaStrautmane I disagree - I think a whining press conference could win back a large part of the voters and maybe even strengthen their conviction.
From@BaibaStrautmaneWell, I don't know, @ZZS_ on 3 Oct. only something epic can save them - e.g., Lembergs as a presidential candidate. Against his background, all those Krauzes, Uzulnieks and other slugs, of course, pale...:)

The largest creditors have also been published. There, for example, the state-owned company 'Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre' appears with 42 million. What is that? Those are the famous CO2 quotas, a fine for the fact that the company flies and burns fossil fuel. They must be bought on the market and submitted to LVĢMC (the deadline is now September). So that the paperwork is in order. There are no sensible alternatives, all airlines pay. Not long ago, aviation lobbyists asked the European Commission not to apply the quotas, but the answer was a categorical no.

ZZS will not put forward a new candidate for the welfare minister post; Uzulnieks will issue a public statement
Countering the remark that, judging by the program, “Progresīvie” have become more polished and are avoiding measurable promises, such as health funding at 8% of GDP, Andris Šuvajevs says that now he is better able to assess what is feasible.

What are you talking about? Local neighborhood residents are protesting against their yards, streets, and sidewalks being messed up against their will. They are the victims of those changes. Those changes are dreamed up by progressive fools who watch from the balconies of their quiet center apartments, not understanding that not everyone's life is arranged within a 5-minute walk from home with a private kindergarten, private school, and private driver. This is a stupid, drunk-read experiment that some idiots try on the shoulders of harmless people.
From@intars91@Krusts3 Some want it, or are they suddenly Riga residents? Riga must change and there will always be those who do not want change.

And this is a significant nuance. In Latvia's TAP, a bankruptcy administrator would be appointed. In the US procedure it is not so - management continues work.
From@airBalticWe would like to clarify that airBaltic is not in bankruptcy or liquidation proceedings. Also, Chapter 11 is not the legal equivalent of Latvia's legal protection process - airBaltic's current board and council continue to manage and supervise the company, and no external administrator is appointed. Chapter 11 is a US court-supervised financial liability restructuring process aimed at strengthening airBaltic's financial position while the company continues operations as usual.

That is our legislator's choice. Basically the same throughout the EU. Practically all sectors are funded from excise and VAT, including defense, health, education. Even part of pensions (service pensions and bonuses for length of service, for example).
From@andrislovFuel doesn't need to be burdened with such high taxes; it wouldn't be as expensive.

Uzulnieks has been released for now, but in the future he may go to prison, and his car - to Ukraine.
My vision for Latvia. I want a Latvia that is Latvian, safe, and wealthy. A Latvia where its citizens feel safe, belonging, and valued. A Latvia whose value and significance are also recognized by our allies. A Latvian state where the historical experience of our people, culture, identity, and language are the basis for politicians' actions. This means adequate funding for the sectors and workers who care for them—education, culture, and historical memory institutions, helping our families overcome the consequences of past trauma. A state where the consequences of Soviet occupation are a closed chapter of history—without occupation symbols, 'pioneer streets', and intrusive Russian language in the public sphere. Those who have not been able to accept this order are repatriated, while the rest have integrated into Latvia's democracy. Latvia is free of pro-Kremlin parties operating in Latvia that use democracy against our security interests. Without the influence of left-wing parties in Latvian politics that want to restore the destructive Marxist ideology behind other facades. With nationalism—a word that no longer needs to be avoided just because someone finds it uncomfortable. Nature is protected as a Latvian value, safeguarding our landscapes against the excesses of an unreasonable 'green course'. A state where residents can always feel safe and belonging when speaking Latvian. Any discussions about the need, meaning, and significance of the Latvian language have ended. Any discussions that Latvia is fundamentally a nation state of Latvians have ended. The Latvian language is cultivated and developed in an interesting way for everyone, providing quality content in both classical and digital environments to engage youth. The National Cohesion Fund has ended the mistakes of integration policy—any language is allowed in one's home, but the state cares only about the use of Latvian in the public sphere, strengthening the self-confidence of the Latvian nation. Latvia is a safe country—the threat of mass immigration has been averted. Latvians live in a cultural environment close to them, where they feel safe anywhere, at any time of day. Internal services—police, fire service, border guard—are prestigious and adequately funded to ensure internal order and security. Service in the VAD (National Guard) and Territorial Defense is a matter of self-respect for every man and a precondition for deciding state affairs, and voluntary for women. This unites society across social differences. Latvia's armed forces have grown both in numbers and modern technology and are ready for independent defense for at least a 30-day period, giving time for allies to engage. However, given internal state cohesion and the high quality of the armed forces, Latvia is no longer an attractive target for provocations by the eastern neighbor. Latvia is a wealthy country with the lowest tax burden in the Baltics and most of Europe. The redistribution economy that drives both employers and employees to despair with labor taxes has been abandoned. An economy freed from tax burden provides higher wages, consumption, exports, and leaves resources for innovation that rapidly raise Latvia's GDP. State budget revenues grow from economic growth and increasing consumption taxes, corporate taxes, and social contributions as people leave the shadow economy. The state administration apparatus has been reduced to minimal, simple administration aligned with the population size, in a system where it is more profitable to pay taxes than to avoid them. State capital company councils have been abolished, and boards have reasonable salaries, ensuring a sense of fairness in citizens' eyes. Serious violations that cause losses to the state budget are followed by swift and inevitable punishment. State institutions communicate with residents respectfully and humanely, abandoning ponderous, legalistic, and intimidating language. But at the foundation of everything is the family—the basic cell of society, protected by the state. Positive values are strengthened that reinforce marriage, the roles of father and mother, and the awareness of children as a blessing in the family. Ideas that deny this are not supported by the state in any way. The birth rate rises again—ensured by the national sense of cohesion, the safe environment, and the growing economy that allows significantly increasing birth and child-care benefits, as well as ensuring pension fairness for mothers.
The former welfare minister Reinis Uzulnieks, who was expelled from the Latvian Farmers' Union, which is part of the Greens and Farmers Union, after drunk driving, has not been subjected to a security measure, the LETA agency found. However, for what he has done, he may face up to one year in prison.
Regarding ZZS, three years ago the question was whether there were issues on which we could agree. There were at least two. Regarding the party “Latvia First”, I don't see such issues, says Andris Šuvajevs.
