📈 Latvia's exports continue to grow – in July by 14.9% more than a year ago. In July, Latvia exported goods worth 1.78 billion euros, and total foreign trade turnover reached 4.01 billion euros. In the first seven months of the year, export value has already reached 12.22 billion euros. Exports of mechanisms, mechanical devices and electrical equipment grew particularly rapidly – by 25.5%. ✅ During Evika Siliņa's government, bureaucracy for businesses has been purposefully reduced to boost economic growth, 'green corridors' for large investment projects have been introduced, LIAA's work has been transformed to focus more on attracting investment and promoting exports, and EU fund support for business and innovation has been expanded. These decisions themselves do not explain every percentage point of export growth, but they create an environment where Latvian businesses can more easily grow, invest and compete in foreign markets. The next task is to consolidate this growth – increase productivity, attract even more investment and help Latvian businesses create more high value-added and well-paid jobs right here in Latvia.

Foreign Minister @Braze_Baiba and Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade @HMcEntee expand cooperation on Ukraine’s support by signing Statement of Intent 🇱🇻🤝🇮🇪 The Statement provides that Ireland is joining two Ukraine support projects currently implemented by Latvia. €600,000 will be strengthening resilience, gender-sensitive justice, and support systems for war-affected women and children, whereas €200,000 will add to the reconstruction of a psychoneurological hospital. The cooperation will be administered by @CFLA_gov_lv, but the project implementers are Centrs MARTA un fonds “Entrepreneurs for Peace”. This cooperation will help strengthen Ukraine’s 🇺🇦 resilience and support its recovery. 📸 Photo: Laura Celmiņa, MFA of Latvia

As @MGruskevics would say - we do not cultivate the cliché that AS are the same empty ones as their other government colleagues!! The Prime Minister this morning clearly stated that it concerns all grains of Russian and Belarusian origin and that a "300% fee increase for the use of LV railway infrastructure for transit of these grains" will be introduced and "he will do everything necessary so that there is no interest to bring grains through the territory of Latvia"!!

The Italian government has set immigration restriction as a high priority. A direction worth supporting! I met with Italy's ambassador to Latvia, A. Marsella. During the meeting, we discussed Latvia-Italy cooperation on internal security matters, hybrid threats posed by Russia, migration, and the fight against organized crime. I hope that soon I can report on the results of cooperation with the Italian Ministry of the Interior, which will benefit Latvia's security.

Then it's clear why Solopenko met with the Suverēnā vara deputy Sohina at Riga City Council a few months ago.

❗️❗️❗️Exclusive! ✅ Yesterday, on July 8, during the break of the Riga City Council meeting at 17.38, I noticed in the lobby that together with the Sovereign Power deputy Jūlija Sohina there was a familiar face. Not seen in the Riga City Council, but at some Russian event. I sat down at home with my archive, and of course – that's sociologist, former assistant of MEP Tatjana Ždanoka, former Baltnews editor Andrejs Solopenko, to whom a court last year sentenced 280 hours of community service for serving Russian sanctioned propagandist Kiselev, thus violating sanctions. In 2014, Solopenko together with Estonian "Night Watch" activist Maksim Reva went to observe the Moscow-organized referendum in Crimea. I was able to film the same face in 2017 at the Baltic Forum event. There Solopenko together with Aleksandrs Gapoņenko and Sandris Točs diligently listened to what the local Putinist curators from Moscow had to say. But let's return to yesterday's council session break, when Sohina and Solopenko, noticing that I was filming them, went together to the elevator. Solopenko did not run in the last municipal elections, his name is also not found in the candidate list for the next Saeima. What services the former Baltnews editor provided to the Sovereign Power Riga City Council deputy Sohina, who, by the way, is also a former assistant of MEP Ždanoka, we can only speculate. What are your versions? #Konkurss

From the Twitter exchange with @AndrisKulbergs and @MGruskevics one can deduce that the Cabinet of Ministers is about to impose a 300% markup not on railway infrastructure, but on the transport tariff. However, it can only be applied to the state-owned LDz Cargo, not to the private carriers controlled by both AŠ and Meroni.

@liana_langa The festival was organized and paid for by Signet Bank, which is located on Antonijas Street.

Celebrations cost money. There were just the Riga festival, and now more festivities! We celebrate too much, friends! First, we should raise the salaries of social carers, museum workers, teachers... Don't you think? Then we can celebrate a good life! #RunāLatviski https://t.co/pMITApPqVe

Day No. 74 in the prime minister's seat = Safe elections; PVD will check grains; Skola2030 changes A very long Cabinet meeting with loaded issues. This time, the proposals submitted by ministers were of inadequate quality, but it was a choice to finally make a decision with longer discussions in the Cabinet. We adopted: 1. We will check 🇷🇺 grains in transit = we strengthened amendments to finally allow PVD to carry out checks. Thanks for such a quick reaction @uldisaugulis and @Zemkopibas_min for arranging the documents. Here, 🇺🇦 services and experts will help (we agreed with the 🇺🇦 prime minister) to identify stolen 🇺🇦 grains. The Ministry of Agriculture must sign a contract with the DEFRA laboratory like 🇱🇹, and implement immediate testing procedures. We are moving forward with the rest of the work. 2. We adopted amendments to SKOLA2030 to finally bring clarity for students, parents, teachers, and educational institutions. We reached an agreement. @IIndriksone is one of the TOP3 tasks. • Natural sciences, reading, and mathematics skills are declining sharply. The curve is rapidly downward. • In this school year, at least one test in each subject can be corrected. • We will abandon the mandatory weighting of summative assessments. From this school year. • Significant change – in 9th grade there will be a centralized exam in natural sciences. There will be no 20% threshold. It will not affect admission to 10th grade. • We are bringing back the French language exam as a centralized elective. From this school year. • The requirement for high school students to take at least one advanced-level exam is cancelled. It can be done voluntarily. • Threshold for exams. I also personally support keeping the 20% threshold. We leave this issue for the next government to assess. • The schedule of state tests for the 2026/2027 school year has been approved. 3. We adopted to move forward with amendments to universities to stop "pseudo" students that increase migrants. Migration control in universities. We listened to the Ministry of Education and Science, discussed. We listened to the Association of Private Universities. The system needs to be organized, but all sides must be heard. Approved to move forward to the Saeima. 4. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development @Edgars_T has done a huge job in 4 months coordinating the development of IT systems for the 15th Saeima elections. Now the systems have passed all tests and have been approved at the Cabinet meeting and handed over to the CVK for implementation. The mark for the done work will be given on election day.

@Aigars1972 @DassFriedrich @VL_TBLNNK @janisdombrava What can be Dombrava's immediate effect if coalition partners are not even ready to approve the informative report with the plan of restrictive measures to be taken? This is starting to resemble a decades-long fight with OUR OWN over compulsory education in the Latvian language.

@DassFriedrich Where can one see the effect of @VL_TBLNNK and @janisdombrava here?
