📍 Riga 🇱🇻 The visit concluded with a working dinner attended by Deputy PM, FM @sikorskiradek, at the invitation of Latvia’s FM @Braze_Baiba. The main topics of discussion included EU enlargement to Moldova, Ukraine and the Western Balkans, Russia’s hybrid activities targeting European countries, including Poland and Latvia, and the situation in the Middle East - in particular Iran and the consequences of the Strait of Hormuz crisis for Europe.

The most interesting and original political advertisement in Latvia. MMN is an absolutely underestimated political project. A real political neo-modernism. A breath of fresh air in a room that has not been aired out for 35 years. https://t.co/Cmo3C7kBqD

@Astridamains @Jekaba11 @Jauna_Vienotiba Prices of firewood, pellets, briquettes, and gas are rising! On Monday we will put this issue in the coalition and look for solutions to support people with lower incomes. We must not allow people to freeze in their homes due to lack of funds!

@aseradens @Jekaba11 @Jauna_Vienotiba But is it okay to be without heating? Firewood, briquettes, and pellets are currently really expensive relative to income, and those who don't have their own forests have to save up for a long time! Almost one in four people lives below the subsistence minimum, and in winter the lonely and disabled often freeze to death in unheated homes!

Ivars Āboliņš (NA): “We propose to liquidate SIF in its current form. The Society Integration Foundation has exhausted itself. We see that it does not achieve its goals. We see the latest data that only 10% of those who speak Russian are ready to defend Latvia. Only 18% of those who speak Russian are for Ukraine, the rest either do not know, or support Russia, or are on no one's side. Therefore, such SIF as it is now cannot exist, it must be liquidated.” #ŠodienasJautājums

The research post I quoted below was from February. Today's news about PISA measurements shows that the majority of young people (59%) can no longer read. So also write. Can tick that off. Illiteracy is a reality. For context, a few facts. First - @IZM_gov_lv spends a hundred million a month. A hundred. Million. A month. Euros. Second. Everything is supposedly fine. Third. The ministry is a priority. When asked to save funds 'like everyone else', they refused already last year. Refused again this year. Came decisively to complain. And now they ask for at least 50 million more next year. I have a question, @IIndriksone. Not a reproach. What should be done with such people, if without politics and honestly?

Are our children smarter than their parents? This is being studied. Such research is based on data from, for example, well-known PISA assessments that measure education quality in schools, compare countries, and so on. They are often mentioned in the education context. There was an Australian scientist James Flynn who used data from various assessments for many years, then compared different generations with each other - how cognitive abilities change - literacy, comprehension, ability to think, solve problems, and so on. Various types of intelligence (IQ) tests. Flynn happily found that in the last century everything only went up - each next generation was smarter than the previous one. That is called the Flynn effect. These results seem logical to me because more people went to schools, and overall education levels rose. Until this century. The so-called Generation Z (Gen Z), born from 1997 onward, are starting to fall behind their parents. Comparatively lower cognitive abilities. These are today's young adults aged 20-30 who widely use 'computers' in schools. Attached is a video from recent US congressional debates where a neuroscientist named Jared points out that cognitive decline runs parallel to 'sitting at the computer'. About computers in general, I can't say anything bad myself, I'll only comment that TikTok really dumbs people down and it goes hand in hand with the return of progressive communist ideas. A (rhetorical) question: how will people's cognitive abilities change when artificial intelligence arrives? Maybe they'll connect a chip to the brain and everything externally will be fine? Maybe biological gray matter will no longer be needed, which, to be objective, is a relatively small problem since obviously most people don't use it anyway. Down with the tsar, take everything and redistribute!

For those who ask - why Kulbergs doesn't do this and doesn't do that. Each coalition party in government has four ministers and it would be strange if Unity and ZZS would support decisions aimed at correcting their mistakes. The Cabinet of Ministers' agenda is regulated by the rules of procedure and with such a balance of power as it is, that's how it is.

@BrencisA @JolantaKublins1 in their 100 days they did what they promised - Istanbul, partnerships, etc. Also the budget - I sharply criticized that. Kulbergs not only hasn't done anything. It's clear he doesn't even know how to start doing something. He floats with the current and just chatters.

@JurgisLiepnieks @JolantaKublins1 Well, you didn't ask for such reports after 100 days of work.

@Maris_Zanders Orwell said that as a socialist about his own kind. Today this phrase is most often used by those who themselves lack this self-reflection.

Once George Orwell noted: 'The worst advertisement for socialism is its followers'. That could be, however, it seems that this also applies to other parties and ideologies...
