Far-left populists like political science doctor from Progresīvie Mārtiņš Hiršs are out of touch with reality, because most likely he has not read either natural law theory, nor is he familiar with the foundations of conservative thought and Western civilization. For such Hiršes, instead of the Bible there is the Istanbul Convention, and instead of common sense... well, there always looms either Orbán or Trump....

@LV_visiem @nralv The first sentence is 💯 percent nonsense. Many people with functional disabilities actually move to Riga because Riga has many more and varied services. The environment is also being improved much faster. But a fake account can write anything.

@nralv Unfortunately, there is no place for the disabled, the sick and the feeble, and mothers with strollers in Riga. This is a big mistake because Riga is losing people with good incomes - they move to the surrounding areas. But maybe that is the goal of the Progressive party - to eradicate normal people from the capital? Will only migrants with boxes remain?

@nord_studija @Apvienotais_ We live in a rule-of-law state; punishments are determined by the police, the prosecutor, and the court.

@AndrisKulbergs @Apvienotais_ From what I've read, the dogs were returned to their owners. Absolutely wrong. Euthanizing the dogs and immediate criminal liability for the owners, as well as compensation to the victims, would be exactly what would teach anyone who has a dog about responsibility.

Baiba Braže still has not given the public answers about the dark spots in her past. Let's list a few facts and questions. Why did Braže, when running for the post of foreign minister, hide information about her work in the Latvian Youth Organizations Union (LJPS), which was the heir of the Komsomol? Is it true that Braže's boss at LJPS was Jānis Urbanovičs? What were Braže's duties as coordinator of international cooperation issues at LJPS? Braže says that from 1989 to 1990 she worked as a trainee at customs. It should be noted that at that time such a Latvian customs did not exist. Customs was under the KGB and only 'insiders' could intern there. Given that Braže's mother Ņina worked in a KGB cover organization (LPSR Peace Committee), did that help Braže get into the LU Faculty of Law? Braže's rapid rise in the Foreign Ministry began in 1993 under Minister Georgs Andrejevs, who officially admitted cooperation with the KGB. Given Braže's CV and her unwillingness to explain her cooperation with the occupation regime, the public has every right to view her as a threat to national security.

INFORMATION ABOUT DOGS THAT BIT CHILDREN Dogs that bite children on the street must be euthanized if owners are unable to ensure their safe supervision. We live in a state governed by the rule of law, and this must be done in accordance with the law (the law stipulates that dogs that have caused harm must be put down). First, the police must provide a conclusion. The main responsible party is the owner. Every person who takes on a dog must be responsible for its socialization and training. As a person, a father of children, and a responsible dog owner, I believe that if you cannot ensure that your dog is not dangerous to others, you should not have that animal. And yes, unfortunately, the fate of these dogs must be decided and they must be put down. HERE IS PRECISE INFORMATION ABOUT TODAY'S SITUATION: Here is a brief summary of the dog case: * After the dog attack on September 4 in Carnikava, in which six children and a teacher were injured, the State Police has initiated criminal proceedings, while the municipal police has initiated administrative violation proceedings. After initial procedural actions, the dogs were returned to the owner. * From July 1, 2026, a new legal framework (amendments to the Animal Protection Law) is in force regarding dogs that have attacked a person. It provides for a special procedure for keeping such dogs, as well as conditions under which a dog must be euthanized. * Mandatory euthanasia is provided if a dog has caused serious bodily injury or death to a person and the dog's owner has been held criminally liable for violation of animal keeping rules - a court ruling has entered into force. Therefore, euthanasia is not automatic immediately after an attack. * For the practical application of the amendments, the Ministry of Agriculture had to develop Cabinet of Ministers regulations by July 1 on the keeping regime for attacking dogs. They provide for stricter requirements: muzzles, short leash, adult handler, and other restrictions, but the regulations have not yet been adopted. * The Ministry of Agriculture's delay is not the reason why the Carnikava dogs were not euthanized or were returned to the owner, but it means that the security regime provided for in the new regulation after a dog attack has not been fully implemented in the country. The Ministry of Agriculture bears political responsibility for this incompleteness of the regulation.

The case with the dogs is something terrible and such situations must not happen again. I feel for the victims and their families. Wishing a quick recovery! I will follow up to ensure that the PVD procedures regarding aggressive animals are carried out in accordance with the seriousness of the situation. https://t.co/EKdbvHxRKa
