I'm now bewildered - under Siliņa/Briškens, AirBaltic borrowed at 14.5%, which everyone unanimously called the final nail in the coffin, because there is no business that would earn enough to make borrowing at 14.5% profitable. Now, thanks to the active work of the new government (Kulbergs allegedly having devoted 30% of his time so far just to this), AirBaltic will borrow at 25% - 257 million at 25% per year???? Seriously? How can that end well?

Lithuania and Estonia are ahead of Latvia largely because their economies are more oriented towards foreign trade and exports, earning money outside the country. Meanwhile, in Latvia the share of exports in GDP is lower, because a relatively larger part of economic activity is oriented towards the domestic market, including servicing public procurement.

Migration must be strictly limited, because we 1/ have suffered greatly from mixing with Russian colonists during the years of Soviet occupation, 2/ must not be stupid and repeat the mistakes of the liberals of the UK, Germany, Belgium, Sweden and other Western countries! Latvians cannot afford to be stupid welcome-ists! Latvia is at stake! 🇱🇻 #RunāLATVISKI

“Every person in the regions must receive healthcare services, but the patient must also be clear that the regional hospital they go to provides quality services and that they are not just on paper, as is unfortunately currently the case in some regional hospitals. [..] The government has decided that funding for regional hospitals will not be reduced, [..] but the very foundation is quality healthcare,” said Edmunds Jurēvics (JV) at the #ChooseLatviaFuture debates in Jelgava. #Elections2026

“Municipal leaders have turned to high school students in 12th grade, saying – we need family doctors, go study medicine. There are opportunities to help with stipend payments and then also provide housing. That will be what needs to be done. If municipalities want to attract young specialists, they cannot do without it,” said Jānis Vitenbergs (NA) in the #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni debates in Jelgava. #Vēlēšanas2026

“If a family has to choose whether to support themselves with their last resources or give money to a nursing home, I believe that the family should keep the money for themselves. The Ministry of Welfare developed this long-term care plan, where the state should also get involved to support seniors in nursing homes,” said Reinis Uzulnieks (ZZS) in the #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni debates in Jelgava. #Vēlēšanas2026

“We have sick people, they become ill in Latvia faster than elsewhere. We must do everything to strengthen health promotion, diagnostics, and treatment. That means money must be invested there so that pensioners can also continue to participate in productive work alongside receiving their pension,” said Leons Līdums (LA) during the #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni debates in Jelgava. #Vēlēšanas2026

“We Change the Rules will under no circumstances close any rural school. Even if there is only one single child there. “The party “Stabilitātei!” is against school closures, we actively oppose them. The place where a school is closed, that place actually dies out, people leave the regions. We plan to reduce the requirements for a certain number of students. “High-value land is a strategic national resource and the foundation of food security. Our position is simply clear – this industrialization and wind farms must not destroy arable, high-value agricultural land. “In Latvia, we still do not have a clear energy strategy in place. That is our task to state in the next convocation. Renewable energy is beneficial both for people and Latvian entrepreneurs. It is technology transfer, it is investments, it is independence. We see even in Lithuania, developing these wind and solar parks, there are not only these parks, there are also knowledge, competencies and overall industry development,” said Atis Švinka (“Progresīvie”) at the #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni debates in Jelgava. #Vēlēšanas2026
