The government approves a series of documents at each Cabinet meeting that have not been coordinated with other ministries and various associations. The comprehensive immigration plan has gone through several rounds of coordination and has been harmonized with other ministries. If there is a desire to discuss again - we will discuss, but the comprehensive immigration plan cannot be softened and it must be adopted. Video: What is happening in Latvia?, LTV1

Yesterday, the most important German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) published my big interview with the leading German theater critic Simon Strauss. We talked mostly about theater matters, but one thing is clear - the political atmosphere in Europe has radically changed since 2015, when I allowed myself to rise up against Merkel's immigration policy and the German magazine 'Spiegel' published an accusatory article against me called 'Volksfeind' ('Enemy of the People'). Common sense has returned to Europe. And Hermanis is again allowed and can be interviewed, and nothing will happen to you for that.

Day No.69 in the prime ministerial chair - September 1st, School reform, VILKATIS against immigrants, Restored electricity, VILKATIS2 September 1st - students return, homework returns to parents, traffic jam season returns SCHOOL REFORM - we will not pursue rapid changes, education needs stability. Chemistry and physics must return, opportunity to correct one grade should be given. The government adopted a school funding model, more flexible funding allocation for salaries. VILKATIS - migrants are deterred at the border. ~480 attempts were repelled, 4 transporters detained, 2 tunnels found. 63 fence sections damaged in the storm. VILKATIS is extended for another month. ST has restored electricity to all storm victims, 9 crews are going to help 🇱🇹 to connect the remaining 11k disconnected households. The government adopted amendments to compensate the monthly electricity connection fee (5-10€ for apartments and 15-35€ for private houses) for all who had power outages over 72 hours. The Ministry of Climate and Energy approved an improved support program for heating modernization. From now on, you can keep the old system as a safety alternative in crisis conditions if you install a heat pump, batteries, modern pellet boiler, etc. Support for 3+ Honor Families increases from 70 to 85%. VILKATIS2 - task for the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defence to come up with a proposal for a month-long operation to address illegal migration within Latvia, both pseudo-students and illegal migrants in employment.

@J_Hermanis @J_Hermanis what do you think about the possibility of withdrawing the 2nd pension pillar? Is it a mistake or a good thing? And what would happen in Latvia if it were allowed?

Preliminary inflation in the eurozone 💶 and 🇱🇹🇱🇻🇩🇪🇫🇮🇪🇪. Eurozone inflation (3.2%) is higher than the ECB's upper target level (2%), so a repeated base rate hike is quite likely soon. In Lithuania - a particularly rapid rise in inflation. Incidentally, according to SEB Group's assessment, in Lithuania about half (46%) have withdrawn funds from the 2nd pension pillar for a total amount of 4.5% of GDP, of which the majority has ended up in bank accounts, and another part has gone into consumption.

Met a Muslim guy from Africa. Three children. All Arabic names, something to do with Prophet Mohammed. All live in a social housing in the nice area in London. Every single one of the kids hates Britain & says Brits are rude and Africa is much better. The guy hates Britain too & says they stole everything from his country. The guy loves Africa, Russia & China and hopes they will crash the Western world order, the one that gave him citizenship, education and free housing. Many such cases. You call this a different point of view. I call this Revenge Migration.

About the haste with which the student assessment reform was pushed forward, about young people at risk of not obtaining basic education, and about tensions in the government - in 'Rīta Panorāma' a conversation with Education and Science Minister Ilze Indriksone (NA). But the kokle ensemble 'Austras koks' will celebrate its 10th anniversary. With music, special guests, and also dances, it will be marked this weekend!
