@IlzeKusina @KasparsRazna @RostovskisA @LaSERdomnica @AndrisKulbergs @AndrisBite Your claim is roughly like this. In 1996 Latvians lived better than in 2026, and there is no growth.

@zuravlevs @KasparsRazna @RostovskisA @LaSERdomnica @AndrisKulbergs @AndrisBite Not only of course. Growth also happens at the expense of inflation. Look when Rīgas Siltums raised tariffs - such growth that brings joy! For the next heating season they will raise tariffs again - and what do you think? Growth again! 😉

If 13 municipalities refuse the state housing program, the problem is not lack of interest. The problem is the program model, which leaves risks with municipalities but cannot ensure a rent that regional residents can afford. Unpredictable costs, obligations of more than 25 years, and the requirement for municipalities to cover costs of unrented apartments are not an attractive offer. Affordable housing is also a matter of regional economic development. Without it, a municipality cannot attract doctors and teachers, nor police officers and employees of new businesses. In the coming years, the state must become much more actively involved in solving housing availability in regions, creating a targeted housing fund, taking on a larger share of financial risk, and adapting program conditions to the real situation in each region. https://t.co/Rjrwwtx3or

I agree! Such a reaction from @AndrisKulbergs to the immigration restriction initiative was most likely caused by panic. To try to bury it at the root, this seemingly thoughtless post was created. That is not the same as comfortably 'fighting' from the opposition bench. But when will they finally move from words to deeds?

The Prime Minister's apology is a simulated act, because he recorded, edited, and then published this video. Deliberate action. The apology came only after the public reaction to all this. And he apologized to save his political behind. Just calculation. https://t.co/AK4rksywYn

interesting whether there is still any president in the world right now who has such a PR public photo. Not even mentioning that this was taken after the war in Ukraine caused by Putin. And this little man, among other things, is the Commander-in-Chief of this country's military forces. He lives in a world of flowers and stroking cats. And he has a whole presidential office. More clearly - a serving entourage! Who helps carry out all this absurdity. I would especially like to mention the court photographers.

The early 90s was a moment when Latvians felt like masters of their own land. Then came Max van der Stoel, disarmament of the National Guard, European “values”, integration policy.... and here we are now ... https://t.co/pFjqWon0ke

The Health Minister's @H_AbuMeri hospital network reform is empty rambling into space. 1. None of the VM has thought about the extent to which emergency medical assistance should be provided; 2. None of the VM has studied geography. Hasn't looked at the map, analyzed @NMPdienests brigade availability in different regions. And the offended list's prime minister @AndrisKulbergs is co-responsible to those patients who, due to this reform, will not receive full medical assistance.

Germany has attributed to Russia the attempted armed drone attack in Leipzig. Full, unequivocal solidarity with our German allies. Russia’s aggressive behaviour endangers all of Europe. We must call Russia’s actions what they are: state-sponsored terrorism. @AussenMinDE

Forgive me, I clearly said at the coalition meeting that I am ready to lead the political coordination discussion between factions, the time is set for Friday at 12:00, Dombrava accepted at Monday's meeting. If it is not coordinated among officials, we will coordinate politically on Friday. It is a basic Cabinet rules requirement, there must be at least the FM, TM and definitely the Chancellery of the Cabinet coordination in order to move forward to the Cabinet. That was not and has not been. I think it is a very constructive and rational proposal to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

The Prime Minister complains that approvals are missing. Whose duty is it, if not the Prime Minister's, to ensure that the government's work moves forward? The Prime Minister is not a clerk whose job is to note that a paper is missing from some file. The Prime Minister leads the government, convenes ministers, resolves disagreements and achieves decisions. The government declaration states in black and white: restrict the issuing of long-term visas and residence permits, set the permissible number of third-country nationals and close schemes for legalising economic immigrants. Mr Prime Minister, you did not stop the 'theatre'. You yourself stalled the implementation of your own government declaration. When Interior Minister @janisdombrava has submitted concrete proposals, the Prime Minister does not organise their review and make a decision, but publicly announces that approvals are missing, and calls the work done a 'theatrical fight' and 'dull voter fishing'. Open tunnels on the border. Raids are taking place. Immigration control is being stepped up. Quotas for third-country nationals are being prepared, stricter requirements for foreign students and universities, control over employment intermediaries and liability for residence rule violations. Where exactly is the theatre here? When the Prime Minister and the Interior Minister toured the border and stood in front of cameras, that was obviously statesmanship. When uncomfortable decisions have to be made and powerful economic interests opposed, it suddenly becomes 'hysteria'. That's where the story about procedure ends. In one hand @AndrisKulbergs holds the government declaration promising to restrict the issuing of long-term visas and residence permits. In the other hand he holds proposals to keep investor temporary residence permits, the so-called 'golden visas'. The immigration restriction plan still needs at least 14 more approvals. The 'golden visa' idea apparently only needs an investment fund brochure and promises of rich sheikhs. Latvia does not need an immigration policy in which security solutions can be postponed while residence permits can again be turned into a commodity. Latvia does not need a system in which the interests of universities, labour intermediaries and various investment schemes matter more than the state's ability to control who enters Latvia, why they stay here and what they do here. If the Prime Minister objects to specific points of the plan, he should simply say so. If corrections are needed, they should be made. If ministries cannot agree, the Prime Minister should sit them at one table and reach a decision. That is exactly what the Prime Minister is paid for. Not for videos in which he publicly scolds his government's ministers and explains to the public why the government cannot do its own job. Restricting immigration is not theatre. The theatre begins when the Prime Minister promises one thing, brakes another and pushes a third.

Thank you @AndrisKulbergs for the ability to put aside emotions and restore a respectful discussion on migration policy. Opinions may differ, but politicians must understand that other discussion participants also represent a certain part of society, its views and expectations from state policy. https://t.co/dZmc8jl2mL

I greatly respect Kulbergs for the decisive and dynamic government work, but this time it seems it will be off the mark. @janisdombrava The immigration restriction plan has been in coordination since July, not yesterday. And it is completely clear that, for example, Gribu palīdzēt bēgļiem or the JV-led ministries will never approve it because they are conceptually against restricting immigration. Perhaps NA started political coordination too late, perhaps. But at the civil service level the plan has been coordinated since July. I call on AS and NA to sit down at the negotiating table, discuss and reach agreement. Because the current mutual insults only benefit migration lobbyists, including the Progressives, Unity and Gribu palīdzēt bēgļiem, whose activists today so suddenly started supporting "Kulbergs' position". Just for that it would be worth thinking about - if enemies start praising you, something is not right. I believe and hope that AS and NA are the closest allies both before and after the elections. Don't let yourselves be set against each other!

@thejaniz @MGruskevics @AivarsLembergs @AndrisKulbergs @janisdombrava @VL_TBLNNK I believe there is a great desire to prevent this document and later all amendments to the normative acts, and it will always be too late, too few who have read it, those who still need to improve something, etc. This was a very serious signal we received yesterday about postponing the issue.

@EdvardsRatnieks @MGruskevics @AivarsLembergs @AndrisKulbergs @janisdombrava @VL_TBLNNK Well, nobody is braking. I just don't believe that this would be postponed again and again. I just don't believe it. How many 47-page documents does a minister have to review in a day? How many such proposals must be read?
