From@ZelenskyyUaUkraine is a country of peace. And we truly respect the fact that our partners want to help bring this war to an end. We support every such effort. When the Americans asked us to pause strikes on Moscow and St. Petersburg on August 25, 26, and 27, we observed that pause. There were no strikes on Russia, while strikes on Ukraine continued. When another global power asked us to pause strikes in the direction of Vladivostok for a specified period of time, we agreed to ensure that as well. New meetings in Moscow are now being prepared, and we will take that into account. We always support every step toward peace – every step to prevent Russia from making this war endless. The war needs to end, and leaders are right to tell Putin this. So, for the sake of diplomacy and negotiations, whenever our partners approach us about this, we will ensure that Russian skies are cleared of drones for specified periods of time and along specified routes. Safety will return to Russia’s skies when there is real movement toward peace. For now, the skies over Russia are for drones – not for civilian aviation.

16788Well, nevertheless, four years ago Harmony condemned the war, and precisely because of this stance they did not enter the Saeima. Due to their rich political biographies, one can and should treat them differently, but they sacrificed their seats in parliament and showed character. At that time, people like that guy in the video turned away from them and stopped voting for them. I found this man on social networks, and almost everywhere there is only Šlesers.
From@EagleErglis@MaratQasem He looks more like Harmony's electorate, among whose representatives he also sits. But there's little difference there. They most likely kicked him out for comments, because he filmed all those TikTok parties a lot and live.

One of the former prime ministers, who knew the old Kulbergs and his family well, just told me that the young Kulbergs has hardly read a single book in his life. Of course, the garage boss could theoretically run the country too, but at this critical moment we need leaders who act decisively against: 1. immigration and 2. bureaucracy. Without wavering. Who are not dependent on the old system, on all that political-economic swamp created during Šķēle's time that still holds the entire Latvian nation hostage.

From@letanewslvZZS partnership double standard: Demands loyalty from others, itself votes as convenient. @IvarsAuzins By the way, speaking of cologne — his electorate really resembles Zhirinovsky's voters in some way. That's why when you mentioned five-euro notes, I immediately pictured a Russian analog of Šlesers.
From@IvarsAuzins@MaratQasem Ainārs has no principles regarding voters. Any plankton with a passport will do. If he could, he would be willing to hand out five-euro notes and cologne. Unfortunately, that's his sneaky nature. Votes are the main thing!

ZZS credits itself with increasing teachers' and medics' salaries, credit growth and investment projects, but blames ministers from other parties for "airBaltic", the hospital network and other failures. In an interview on LETA's podcast "Politiķi! Kas tas vispār bija?" Valainis defended ZZS's right to vote against the government's own proposals, threatened not to support next year's budget and did not rule out forming a majority with opposition parties. He calls this a fight for better solutions, not blackmail of partners.

From@RKruminIn Lithuania's curve, the 2016 effect is clearly visible, when they sharply reduced labor taxes and thereafter the number of legally employed steadily grew, with a drop during Covid, but GDP has doubled since then. LV continues not to reduce labor taxes, and the economy stagnates.

From@AtminaLVThe National Alliance read the prime minister's procedural objections as resistance to the plan in substance — five party politicians spoke out in one day. @EdvinsSnore called it a pretext, @RihardsKols demanded a decision at ministerial level, @AnsisPupols urged employer organizations to stop opposing the plan, @EdvardsRatnieks called on the minister to publicly support it. Artūrs Butāns linked the objections to narrow economic group interests. The party said it would demand explanations from the prime minister in a face-to-face meeting.

🔥 Šlesers' right-hand man showed up to the TV debate in adidas track pants and started filming the proceedings with his phone. Security escorted him out of the “Rīgas cirks” venue. 🤡 The blogger Leonīds Lomza, associated with Šlesers, came to support LPV at the debate in three-stripe training pants. 🎥 It would have gone unnoticed if Lomza hadn't started filming, which is categorically forbidden by the event's internal rules. 📺 In the end, TV security ejected Leonīds from the “Rīgas cirks” premises where it all happened, and he appeared before those around him as a simple guy from Ķengarags, as his boss Šlesers sometimes calls himself. 🤷🏻♂️ My conclusion about which political force this character represents, who demonstrated his level of culture, was based on publicly available sources. This summer, during the pre-election campaign in Riga, the oligarch gave Leonīds instructions. 🫵 Among other things, Ainārs said: “I'll come, but you work here for now.” Lomza's social media is also full of photos with LPV politicians. 🤦🏻♂️ Overall, there's nothing surprising here. This is exactly what Šlesers' voter looks like — an uneducated, resentful marginal who moves around the city in a shirt and adidas track pants. 😱 What surprises me is something else: why didn't Leonīds start eating sunflower seeds in the spectator stands during the debate? Apparently he held back thanks to iron willpower! ❓ What do you think — is Šlesers proud of such a bright representative of his electorate? Or does he not care at all whose votes get him to the trough? 📝 Let's discuss in the comments. #Elections #Šlesers #debates #LPV #urla

From@AinavaPKulbergs is just a businessman who wants to sell golden visas in Latvia for pennies, for whom only what matters is how much can be earned by those who employ “students” here, bringing in Muslims from countries that cooperate with Russia. From@atis_svinkaIf 13 municipalities refuse the state housing program, the problem is not lack of interest. The problem is the program model, which leaves risks with municipalities but cannot ensure a rent that regional residents can afford. Unpredictable costs, obligations of more than 25 years, and the requirement for municipalities to cover costs of unrented apartments are not an attractive offer. Affordable housing is also a matter of regional economic development. Without it, a municipality cannot attract doctors and teachers, nor police officers and employees of new businesses. In the coming years, the state must become much more actively involved in solving housing availability in regions, creating a targeted housing fund, taking on a larger share of financial risk, and adapting program conditions to the real situation in each region. https://t.co/Rjrwwtx3or

INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEPAL TRAGEDY. Current as of 1.09. A Ministry of Foreign Affairs employee has departed to Nepal to carry out coordination work on site to help the families and relatives of the 33 missing 🇱🇻 citizens (earlier information of 43 has been clarified). Yesterday @Braze_Baiba spoke with the Nepalese minister, full support for 🇱🇻, everything needed. From China there is silence for now after the note was sent and the announced call, but today more information may be available. 30 closest blood relatives have provided DNA samples to the State Police, which are being digitally provided to Nepalese rescue services. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs convened a coordination meeting on 31.08 for state and municipal institutions, defining the range of issues where state and municipal support, involvement, and assistance will be needed if those missing in Nepal are not found, for their relatives: childcare, social assistance, education, health care, and other areas. Representatives of responsible state and municipal institutions will soon prepare useful practical information, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will then pass to the relatives of the missing, inviting them to contact the relevant institutions.
