From@atis_svinkaDefence spending must create not only security, but also Latvia's economic strength — production, knowledge and exports. The defence budget must not be just money Latvia spends abroad. It must also become investment in Latvian industry, the creation of high value-added products and well-paid jobs. The planned plant for combat ammunition and explosives in Jēkabpils municipality is exactly such an example. Up to €200 million in investment, about 200 jobs and production mainly for export. It is important that such a project is being developed outside Riga. Regional development cannot be ensured only by redistributing state budget funds. Private investment, production and jobs are needed that raise wages and create orders also for other companies in the region. But the state's task does not end with attracting an investor. Worker training, roads and energy connections, safety requirements and an open conversation with local residents must be ensured. Five percent for defence can become not only security spending, but also a programme for Latvia's industrialisation. That is why the important question is how much of this money will create jobs, knowledge and exports right here in Latvia? https://t.co/0upkSt2c41

16802From@atis_svinkaA significant step for passenger convenience and public transport connectivity! The “Riga unified ticket” is now available in all Vivi train route zones — A, B, C, D and E. With one purchase, you can combine a train ride with a 90-minute ride on Riga’s buses, trams and trolleybuses. For passengers, this means simpler transfers and a one-euro saving on each trip compared to buying both tickets separately. The next goal should be a unified ticket across Latvia, that is, on trains, buses and urban public transport. One trip should have one conveniently purchasable ticket.

Have you ever participated in an SKDS survey? I have, and it goes like this: You receive an email invitation to fill out a survey that will take about 10 minutes, for which you will receive a certain number of points for reward coupons. The survey, for example, is about coffee drinking habits, but among these everyday questions, a question about who you will vote for in the Saeima elections is also slipped in. There is no direct indication that this will be a political survey, so the respondent cannot choose whether to fill it out or not. So these 'point collectors', who earn coupons by clicking through questionnaires, ultimately determine the public's overall opinion and party ratings.
From@sidsloth261949@AndrisVelps if it's a web survey, then it misses a very large portion of people. It shows some kind of picture, but definitely quite far from reality. And where there is swimming around 5%, there will be surprises, and not as it appears now.

🇬🇧🇮🇪 These channels are also freely watched by Latvians in England and Ireland. I've heard about quite a few English countryside folks who watch Kiselyov, drink rum, and are ready to go to war against 'Ukrainian Nazis'. Thank God @Ivars_Abolins had enough political courage to close this information conduit in time; I remember how @NellijaL opposed closing Russian information resources because it was supposedly 'censorship'. #Āboliņš
From@LaurisReiniksI'm currently in a country where you can see all Russian TV channels in the hotel. It's a total mess 😱😃 Russians in Ukraine are such freedom fighters that it's almost unbelievable. Heroes. Thank God we shut down all those nightmares here. Just theater for free. And so convincing.🙉 #parallelworld #propaganda

@JuAivars @drCHADMDD @AndrisKulbergs @EvikaSilina would grow more if there were deeds and results, but now instead it will fall and the election result will be much weaker than it could have been, which in turn will complicate life further, but those are their problems...
From@JuAivars@JurgisLiepnieks @drCHADMDD @AndrisKulbergs @EvikaSilina If in these 100 days the party's rating grows abnormally, then why the hell should we make any rapid moves before the elections (from the party's, not the state's needs point of view)? The Young Latvians are also shoveling shit, such shit that a layer of clay gets pulled - and there is a result.

@mansviedoklis1 @Kuskis @AndrisKulbergs @EvikaSilina None. They promised some extravagant idea, but I guess the idea was stupid, so zero work, zero decisions, time goes by.
From@mansviedoklis1@Kuskis @JurgisLiepnieks @AndrisKulbergs @EvikaSilina There is no time. Kulbis himself shouted that every day Rail Baltica costs millions and that Siliņa needs to personally supervise. What decisions has investigator Andris made as prime minister in the Rail Baltica matter in almost 3 months?

@drCHADMDD @AndrisKulbergs @EvikaSilina that is very understandable
From@drCHADMDD@JurgisLiepnieks @AndrisKulbergs @EvikaSilina Yes, everything is understandable, just purely want @AndrisKulbergs to turn out better than expected, so far it isn't. That irrational desire can only be explained by the fact that elections are coming and it is currently very difficult to find representatives to whom one would be ready to delegate their responsibility.

@Janis1983 I don't see that Vienotība has prevented anything. It seems the problem is the head of government/blogger himself.
From@Janis1983@JurgisLiepnieks If only Vienotība weren't in the coalition, maybe we would see something like that.

@drCHADMDD @AndrisKulbergs @EvikaSilina everyone sets their own goals and tasks as agreed in the coalition. The question is - who is able to fulfill their goals and tasks, and who only comments that everything is shit and crap. They weren't that politically easy for Siliņa, given her coalition composition etc.
From@drCHADMDD@JurgisLiepnieks @AndrisKulbergs @EvikaSilina xaxaxa, nice :D @EvikaSilina there really were mega intellectually overloading tasks - to joke around about Istanbul (because nvo said how it's right and lsm also helps, everything is chill, why not accept), gays of course, yes that priority thing always, some tariffs - well yes, hands were full of work

☝️ I want to reveal the secret of why 'Dombrava works, but ratings don't grow' and why Jaunups has become more popular than ZZS and will now 'get into the Saeima'. ❗️ The key is the chosen polling method. Both the July and August SKDS party polls were conducted online, a method used less by pensioners and rural residents, but where Riga's beer-guzzling residents are hyperactive. This is not a reproach to Arnims Kaktiņš, who is a private entrepreneur and can conduct whatever polls he wants. This is a reproach to @lsmlv, which hides its chosen polling method from its viewers. #IzrādāsArīTāVar
From@GintsVilgerts🤔 Dombrava rages and works. Ratings don't grow. 🤦♂️ Kulbergs endlessly indignant complains how everything is bad and crappy, but does nothing: bridge players get money, NGOs are swimming in money, etc. Ratings are growing fast. 🍺 Latvia's misfortune is precisely that, especially in public administration, EMPTY TALK is valued, not deeds. If I weren't an MMN candidate, I would vote for Dombrava. He is the only one doing something that is truly important, because MMN is also AGAINST IMMIGRATION 🇱🇻

@Arteiko @NormundsKuplens Hi! I recognized you
From@Arteiko@NormundsKuplens Yesterday I was at the ASL tent near the VEF Culture Palace. Please send people to the agitation events who can and are not afraid to talk to people. After my conversation with @AndrisVelps I got the feeling that I was talking to a person who wants to get rid of me! It's nothing personal, just my feelings!

"Most popular parties", "public mood"... But in reality - a closed database of people who earn coupons for clicking questionnaires. This is how SKDS ratings are stamped in Latvia, with which the media then feeds the people. Public opinion must not be determined by a bubble of coupon earners.
The storm showed - when electricity disappears, mobile communications can also disappear. I propose creating a national-scale backup 2G network based on @Sadalestikls infrastructure - for simple voice calls in crisis situations. It doesn't need fast internet, but stable coverage!
For professionals, the first months of a government are an opportunity for productive, big decisions, and active work, because usually then there is still a large credit of trust from the public and media, good relations in the coalition, everyone is full of energy, etc. Kulbergs has not been able to use this time usefully. He merely flows with the stream and comments on what he sees (though in education there are significantly harmful, erroneous decisions that will affect everyone).
It's quite funny that @AndrisKulbergs in his first 100 days won't have done anywhere near as much as @EvikaSilina did in her first 100. Lowering the bar like that is a skill.
🎙️ The first LTV pre-election debates have taken place in Latgale! Jaunā Vienotība was represented there by Rihards Kozlovskis, convincingly discussing the issues important to Latgale and all of Latvia. Watch the debates and choose Latvia's future! 🇱🇻 https://t.co/XbxyqBFUuF
From@KollissI declare the winner of the debate in Latgale to be Andris Vaivods from the liberal 'Latvijas attīstībai', who has refused to edit the Istanbul Convention🙈 https://t.co/lC1pqgFrwG

From@IAPonomarenkoYou know, I’m almost certain that Donald Trump will one day end up with a replica of the Oval Office built for him at Mar-a-Lago, where he’ll spend his days gleefully renaming gulfs and lakes on maps over and over again, imposing astronomical imaginary tariffs on the entire world, savoring imaginary compliments from Putin and Kim Jong Un, drawing dollar bills with his own face on them, throwing darts at portraits of Biden and Obama, and delivering hours-long, incoherent manifestos of self-admiration to nonexistent crowds of adoring fans.

Dear @ltvzinas and @DagnijaNeimane! In the report, it would have been correct to clarify what survey method was used this time - whether an employee walked around apartments, made phone calls, or collected opinions online. That would reveal which groups of society were addressed more and which less.
From@ltvzinasIn August, support for Prime Minister Andris Kulberggs' political force 'United List' continued to grow, while the popularity of the other coalition parties declined. Meanwhile, 'Stability!' and 'Latvia's Development' crossed the 2% threshold, according to a survey by the market and public opinion research center SKDS conducted from August 13 to 19. #ChooseLatvia'sFuture #Elections2026
