@didzisdejus Didzi, before being horrified, maybe first ask your colleague @AndrisKulbergs in the office M.Brencis for a public explanation of what criteria he, as a member of the LU council, used to approve the LU rector's salary.

🇱🇻🇪🇪🇱🇹 Baltic security also begins with strong democracy and the rule of law. Today in Tallinn, together with the Estonian and Lithuanian justice ministers, we discussed how to strengthen our countries' resilience against increasingly complex threats. 🗳️ Democracy must also be protected in elections — against foreign interference, disinformation, and malicious use of artificial intelligence. In Latvia we have already introduced mechanisms to mitigate such risks, including the requirement to indicate the use of AI in pre-election campaigning and accountability for the use of misleading deepfakes. ⚖️ At the same time, we must be prepared for Russia's attempts to use law as an instrument of political pressure. Here, united and coordinated action by the Baltic states is especially important. 📉 However, a strong state is not a state with as many rules as possible. Regulation must be understandable, proportionate, and not create unnecessary burden on people and businesses. 🤝 Regular Baltic cooperation is essential to respond to common threats in a unified, timely, and practical way.

Could you also explain the allocation of the common funding proportions? And please also provide an additional explanation as to whether it was logical or perhaps written in favor of bridge? :)

By a government decision, funds from a specific program have been allocated for a specific purpose 😉 https://t.co/wEwql4f9Be. I understand the desire to give it a political overtone in the context of bridge, however I am glad that six more federations received support for the successful organization of events.

A storm of this magnitude also gives us very concrete lessons. We need to evaluate procedures and remove bureaucratic obstacles that can hinder rapid assistance and storm recovery.

@Steinbergs_1986 @jemberga @LSFP_LV @IZM_gov_lv @IIndriksone Your own social media post says 'The Ministry of Education and Science has awarded' - last time I checked - the Economic Development Programme is not really the competence of the Ministry of Education and Science. Or is it such a one-off coincidence for this case where bridge turned out incredibly successful? :)

@DDaugavietis45 @jemberga @LSFP_LV @IZM_gov_lv @IIndriksone 1. The sports money for international events disappeared from the 2026 budget. 🤷‍♂️ 2. This is Economic Development Programme money allocated to support international sports events. 3. From the SL point of view, card game is as much a sport as any other. Everything else is emotions.

How much do those @Sadalestikls employees earn (gross) per year who worked to eliminate the consequences of the storm? For example. Electrician - 20,400 EUR, line cleaner (special equipment driver) - 20,280 EUR, forklift driver - 18,600 EUR. Source - current ads on ST's website (I took the highest number, let's be optimistic). Now about people in white shirts who cost much more and who drive ST into debt (currently ~360 million EUR). Management board (responsible for company operations) and council (theoretically represents citizens as owners, overseeing the board): 8 people who cost 1.13 million EUR per year, or 55 electricians. Question - why do we need 8 people on the board and council? Moreover, Latvenergo, which owns Sadales tīkls, just collects any profit and, of course, Latvenergo also has its own board and council (10 people, different individuals). Augstsprieguma tīkls? Another board and council - 7 people. And how many other smaller-scale bosses and half-bosses? Sorry, excuse me, but we can no longer afford to maintain such feasts during a time when people are without electricity for more than a day and are told to their faces that they are to blame for not buying generators, so take a quick loan and take care of yourself, you scum, don't whine 😀 Do you pay taxes? Oh, well thank you, we, the board and council, are barely making ends meet. In the images - screenshots from ST's annual report + info about

Did you yourselves not think that something was off with those criteria? Or is sports swimming in such money that those 225 thousand is a mere trifle, and it's okay to receive more than half of the sports money for an intellectual card game? I would be ashamed in your place to even try to publicly defend such a decision.

@DDaugavietis45 @jemberga @LSFP_LV @IZM_gov_lv @IIndriksone The criteria of the regulations were taken from the Cabinet of Ministers decision prepared by the Ministry of Economics.🤝We have received many comments from federations about the need for support for international events and its decisive importance for them to take on international commitments. We hope that this competition will grow into a permanent support programme.

Thanks to the internal affairs services, municipalities, National Guard members, residents who provided support to the services, and the employees of Sadales and Augstsprieguma tīkls! Despite experiencing one of the biggest storms in decades, we have managed to overcome the problems in a very short time. There are things that need to be improved, but the crisis caused by the storm is already behind us.

@Steinbergs_1986 @jemberga @LSFP_LV @IZM_gov_lv @IIndriksone Well yes - that is why the competition regulations ideally matched the fact that first place gets 145+ thousand, but the closest follower 14.5. But that is probably just a coincidence :))

@DDaugavietis45 @jemberga @LSFP_LV @IZM_gov_lv @IIndriksone Dāvi, all respect, but since you mentioned LSFP, I'll allow myself to comment. If I remember correctly, quite recently the decision-making on funding distribution and approval of regulations in sports was delegated to state secretaries. I assume this was done to reduce the potential influence of politics.

Did you know that we have a Crisis Management Center in Latvia? And the godmother of this center is Unity's Evika Siliņa and former Interior Minister Kozlovskis. What do you think this Crisis Management Center should have done during the storm? Coordinate all rescue services, municipalities, and other necessary specialists! Did you feel the work of this center? Reading the news, I found that no one felt it! Both municipal leaders and services had neither internet nor mobile communications. And the zone had to be found in a neighboring municipality! Then I have a simple question, what do we do with this Crisis Management Center? Do we liquidate it or continue to maintain it with tax money?

@Artillerry @AlvisBalodis @ArtursButans @EdvinsSnore @RustCohleCircle @tikums @VL_TBLNNK Unity often buries initiatives to strengthen the role of the state language. Instead of admitting that it is for bilingualism in Latvia, JV's tactic is to delay good initiatives. JV representative Agita Zariņa has also condemned the initiative signed by 10,000 citizens for the Latvian language. @EdmundsJurevics

🚊🚅 Use of modern trains in 🇱🇻Latvia's more remote regions will improve train attractiveness in domestic transport. 🚨But we want to draw attention to the fact that these trains will run in 🇱🇻Latvia only because 🇪🇪Estonians and 🇱🇹Lithuanians are developing their railways (buying new trains and electrifying new rail sections) and use the old rolling stock (which seems new to us) on Latvian territory. ❌This is yet another proof of the lack of a quality national vision. Latvia looks like a country that uses what neighbors no longer need. 😔The current approach will not get us far.
