Is entrepreneurship education a sufficient priority in schools? Yesterday and today, a conference "Growth Code" organized by LIAA and Junior Achievement Latvia is taking place in Riga, with around 700 teachers, school leaders and education administration representatives participating. This number shows that there is great interest among schools and teachers to strengthen young people's knowledge in economics and entrepreneurship. This must be used. We must strive for a young person, upon finishing school, to understand how a company works, the difference between salary and total employer costs, how taxes, credit, investments and pension capital work. However, entrepreneurship education is not just financial literacy. It teaches initiative, ability to turn an idea into a product, work in a team, take responsibility and also accept failure as part of learning. If we want more entrepreneurs, innovation, higher productivity and better-paid jobs in Latvia, these skills must start being developed at school. Thank you to the conference organizers and teachers who do it. Education, entrepreneurship and economic policy meet here in a very concrete place, the classroom.

Another migrant tunnel found in Latvia near the Belarus border. Border guards yesterday in Krāslava detected 28 people who entered Latvia through this tunnel, and in the Kaplava border guard unit area, 20m from the border, came across an underground passage camouflaged under moss. https://t.co/yfxqQkJ9MU https://t.co/s4WTLaTDlJ

August 21, 1991 is one of the most significant dates in the history of our nation and state. Today marks exactly 35 years since Latvia's de facto independence was restored. I congratulate you on this significant holiday! For Latvia, for our country!🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻️ https://t.co/7z6J7Oc1oW

✅ Latvia's actual separation from the USSR came more than a year after the adoption of the Declaration of Independence – on 21 August 1991 – when, in response to the attempted coup in Moscow, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Latvia urgently adopted the constitutional law 'On the State Status of the Republic of Latvia' and proclaimed full state independence. 🧨 The urgency was because there were OMON fighters and armoured personnel carriers in Old Riga – these were supporters of the USSR coup taking place in Moscow operating in Latvia, demanding the restoration of the Soviet totalitarian regime, by armed means if necessary. Therefore the Supreme Council adopted the law without special debate. 'First the OMON tried to break through the barricades left from January. Then there was silence, they retreated and after a while drove away. We didn't know what was happening,' recalls D. Īvāns. Soon after, it became known that the coup in Moscow had reached a dead end and failed. 🇱🇻 How good that we have our own country! @VL_TBLNNK @RitvarsJansons1 @liana_langa @Laurisrenpreis1 @EinarsCilinskis @EdvardsRatnieks @Ivars_Abolins #BrīvaLatvija

🇱🇻 35 years ago, on 21 August 1991, the Supreme Council of Latvia, after the failure of the Russian August putsch, concluded the transition period begun on 4 May 1990 and proclaimed Latvia's full independence from the USSR. At that moment I was a 16-year-old boy happily running around Bastejkalns, breathing the air of a completely free Latvian state. Thank God we now have our own land! @VL_TBLNNK #BrīvāLatvija

🇱🇻 21 August – Day of Restoration of Latvia's Statehood. Today we lay flowers at the Freedom Monument, honouring the people who 35 years ago took responsibility for Latvia's future and restored our state independence. On 21 August 1991, Latvia strengthened its independence not only with courage but also with a legal decision – the Supreme Council adopted the constitutional law “On the Statehood of the Republic of Latvia”, completing the de facto restoration of independence. This is also important today – Latvia's statehood is based on law, democracy and the rule of law. 🇱🇻 And it is our duty to protect it! Long live Latvia!

One of the ways to deal with the occupation in some people's heads is to create a public environment that is appropriate and dignified for an independent Latvia. The pioneer era is over. https://t.co/4hnAwv9Ci9

Latvia restored independence de facto 35 years ago. It was first recognised by Iceland and followed by 73 countries shortly thereafter. God bless Latvia! 🇱🇻

35 years ago, Latvia🇱🇻 restored its independence de facto by adopting the Constitutional Law on the Statehood Status of the Republic of Latvia. Iceland🇮🇸 recognized it and restored diplomatic relations, followed by others. As early as 17.09.91, Latvia was admitted to the UN🇺🇳. Long may Latvia flourish🇱🇻!

Latvia would greatly benefit from the army experience of @IsraelinLatvia in discovering Hamas tunnels and at the same time could check what is happening under the Russia-Latvia border. #Tunnels

For more than 10 years, this person has been responsible for CSDD IT security, for which they receive ~€5,200/month. Interesting, whether they still work and have not been suspended?
