The Commercial Law stipulates at least a 3-person board and a 3-person council for a joint-stock company. We recently went through this exercise in Jelgava and converted an AS into an SIA. That is a way to eliminate the council. The capital holder (municipality or ministry) needs competent advisors to help supervise capital companies. However, the solution would be to create supervisory councils for several similar companies, where the council member would be a full-time job - not as an opportunity to earn extra income, gain status, or as a quota for political positions, as is often the case now.

In which other state institutions has management not yet come to its senses and started asking questions about the cybersecurity of the IT systems under their control? CSDD management is dismissible for the sole reason that, apparently, after the LVM incident, it has learned nothing.

SKDS survey data on same-sex marriage outlines a very clear dynamic in society. Pressure to undermine and devalue the institution of marriage is concentrated mainly in two segments: among young people (18–24), where it reaches 62.5%, and in the group with basic education (29.3%). This clearly shows that left-wing radicalism and attacks on basic values most easily manipulate youthful naivety, inexperience, and lack of education. However, in the natural course of societal development, as people gain education, maturity, and real responsibility for life, these illusions evaporate. In the age groups above 45 and 55, rejection of such experiments reaches a firm 52–57%. Maturity brings the understanding that the traditional family and marriage are the foundation of the existence of the state and nation, which must not be destroyed or replaced with surrogates. Iceland is again moving closer to the European Union. On August 29, a referendum will be held in Iceland on resuming EU accession talks. In Brussels, a positive result is also seen as a possible impetus for a broader enlargement process with Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine and Moldova. Iceland's and Montenegro's progress could also help overcome resistance in those EU member states where parts of society are concerned about the economic impact of enlargement. But this is a bigger issue than the membership of five countries in the EU. Is the geopolitical situation finally forcing Europe to think of itself again as a political union, not just a common market? Iceland, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine and Moldova would make the EU larger and geopolitically stronger. However, enlargement must be accompanied by the next step, closer cooperation in defense, energy, infrastructure projects and the development of common European financial instruments. CSDD is the most up-to-date database of vehicle owner addresses in the country. It is used by both municipalities and parking lot operators, for example, so that CSDD can send fines to recipients. This has been a very convenient arrangement that has allowed the development of various digital traffic management solutions. It is very important that this incident does not result in restricting or complicating legal access to this information. However, CSDD management has already demonstrated arrogance or a lack of understanding of how information protection should be ensured. Management cannot distance itself from this incident.
