Why there will be no need to return. Prime Minister @AndrisKulbergs and Minister of Justice @EdvardsSmiltens have been campaigning during working hours instead of working, lying to the public. And they have continued to do so even when caught red-handed. That is fraud and theft of state funds. If Kulbergs wants to continue talking about 'meetings with residents', then he is no different from other politicians who consider the public to be fools.

Hopefully, we won't have to return to this topic. Everyone who needs to will understand everything and draw conclusions, even if they never publicly admit it or apologize for anything. Some, however, probably won't understand. https://t.co/lE6RuKvlt0

@andrislov It comes up once a month and I answer once a month too😁 https://t.co/PmGmoW1jJ7

Guntars Vītols is an adviser to the Minister of Finance and a board member of “Latvia's Restart”, a person who sits close to the tap of state money, talks about the state having to get off entrepreneurs' backs, and sometimes even says something sensible about the budget deficit, but as soon as the public responds not with applause but with criticism, it immediately begins—social media are toxic, only fools and cretins are there, and “leave or formally stay”. That is the typical reflex of the political elite, namely, I am smart enough to distribute taxpayers' money, but the rest are too stupid to say anything to my face. Free market and freedom of speech obviously end where his personal comfort ends. The aristocracy of the political caste, or the arrogance of an expert who forgets that his salary comes from those same “cretins”. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. A person who cannot withstand public criticism is not suitable for either an adviser's or a politician's post; he is suitable for a quiet office where everyone nods.

Ten years ago I warned how the refugee saga would end and I paid for it with my international career. Right now, I and MMN are telling what will happen to Latvia if we don't change things RADICALLY. Only a few understand and see it now. And I also know the price I personally have to pay this time.

Alvis Hermanis on immigration - collective self-destruction. Most likely, everyone who has been in Western Europe in recent years has experienced the consequences of immigration. In Latvia, currently 45.6% of doctors, or almost half🧑‍⚕️, are at least 55 years old (i.e., pre-retirement or even retirement age). This is the 2nd highest indicator among all EU countries 🇪🇺. The EU average is ~35% (Eurostat data https://t.co/k2twjxn0Q1 ) This means that in the next ~10 years, a large part of doctors may retire or reduce their workload, but young doctors will not be able to adequately replace those leaving. It is also known that some medical graduates will not stay in Latvia's healthcare system. For patients, this will mean less availability of doctors, longer queues, and a decline in service quality.

I remember times when Latvia's national teams were full of players who had immigrated to Latvia during the occupation years, were not Latvian, and could not even say a few words in Latvian in interviews. Now it is different. All the Latvian boys who represented Latvia's U-16 basketball team and won gold medals speak Latvian. It does not bother me that one of the talented young basketball players is only half Latvian. If one has Latvian blood, feels belonging to the nation, and has a heart burning for Latvia, then they are one of us. Congratulations to the U-16 basketball team on the victory! 🇱🇻

Oh dear, the brilliant thinker, the even more brilliant economist and finally seated in a ministerial chair, @guntarsv is not getting his due daily dose of ovations and without them withers like a pale potato sprout in a cellar. Sob. Please support! And defend this national treasure against plain idiots!

Yes, better to throw money into unnecessary Rail Baltica than into Latvian road safety! How many more Latvians have to die before they start paying attention!

Ruks prays to the little god that @Valsts_policija is honest! Is there an even lower point to fall to? An employer asks God that the employee doesn't steal? 🤔 Let me remind you, I have the paper! When it is proven that the State Police interprets, and punishes according to the boss's order. You have that paper too... @IeM_gov_lv @janisdombrava

@KBlumberga @RigasDome @VKleinbergs @Progresivie There is no prohibition for official city events.

@EdvardsRatnieks @RigasDome @VKleinbergs @Progresivie Why do you think fireworks, which were banned due to the war in UA, should be resumed? Do you think the war in UA is over or does Latvia no longer need to be in solidarity with UA, or do you not care how UA war refugees feel when hearing fireworks? How much did this special fireworks cost taxpayers? https://t.co/5SPNKohz6g

How come there are restrictions on the purchase of pellets in summer, because manufacturers primarily supply to other countries? Meanwhile Latvia produces 10x more than it consumes itself. Shouldn't Latvia's residents have some priority? I wonder if anyone at the Ministry of Economics is thinking about solving this at all, @JanisVitenbergs?

What is it, if not fireworks? 🎆🥳 “It is very good that the fireworks element is returning to the city's official events, especially on the city's significant 825th birthday,” said the vice-mayor. Ratnieks stressed that the 825th birthday is a significant and noteworthy event and, in his opinion, it would be positive to allow Riga residents and city guests to celebrate this important city birthday “with an open heart and then remember it all with beautiful memories.” He recalled that it was similar with the celebration of Riga's 800th birthday, whose events and fireworks people still remember with pleasant feelings and a sense of belonging to the city. “In any case, the residents and guests who were at the festivities on the Krastmala really liked this fireworks show and appreciated it favorably,” said Ratnieks. He thanked the event organizers and praised the work invested by the organizers and artists. In turn, different assessments have appeared on social media. Some are happy about the well-organized event, while others ask questions about why the fireworks are called a light show and whether it means that fireworks will take place again at celebrations in Riga in the future.” /LETA/ 🤗🎉

This is not the fireworks that was banned while UA [Ukraine] is at war, explained @RigasDome mayor @VKleinbergs @Progresivie advisor Lukjanska. This was a much more expensive fireworks – the light show used lasers, spotlights, fountains, smoke machines, pyrotechnics. @EdvardsRatnieks joins in.🥳 #Rīgai825 https://t.co/xvhVvZxKc5
