Empire, Soviet Union or RF, nothing has changed in that location and in the people who live there. For centuries to conquer, kill, occupy, steal, bring narrow peace and culture, while themselves sink into filth - that is the main and unchanging quantity and essence. What exactly are you trying to convince others of right now? 🤦‍♀️

@lindberga22 @phronemophobe Okay, but I am talking about past centuries - about times before the USSR. When it was exactly the Russian Empire, there was no aggression or occupation there. We can talk about occupation in Soviet times, but that is another story.

For this scumbag, the whole problem is that the Russians couldn't conquer Kyiv in 3 days... https://t.co/KMnzTbUoZ4

Oh how, he still doesn't understand how it happened that Russians and Ukrainians started killing each other, and it turns out that Solovyov and Skabeyeva, who deceived Putin, are to blame for causing the war. Really strange, what did the Ukrainians come up with to kill the Russians of Russia.

I wonder how these people crammed into that narrow bench at the University of Latvia's Institute of Literature, Folklore and Art are doing with the 300,000 EUR project funded by the Latvian Science Council “ANTI-MOB: Anti-genderism discourse in Latvian public space and literature.” The description mentions that in the study, “the term 'anti-genderism' denotes a set of discourses that mobilize public attention and concerns about changes in gender roles, family policy, reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ issues, often linking them to broader experiences of social insecurity and value conflict.” The study will especially focus on how “enemy images are created, what arguments are repeated across different channels and how these narratives are used in political competition,” analyzing statements before the 15th Saeima elections. The study began at the beginning of this year and must be completed in 3 years. That means that before the European and municipal elections, the Progressives will have been scientifically thoroughly analyzed at state expense how terrible and socially insecure all the other parties are. Far-sighted. But maybe we can end this project and use the unspent money, for example, to create a new center for people with autism spectrum disorders? #Sensibly

By the way. We give money to Russian and Belarusian associations, but Latvians perform at the Song and Dance Festival and sponsor themselves out of their own pockets? We give money to these associations, but we close Latvian schools? Have we lost our minds? 📷 K. Iļjinska https://t.co/XEGJtGdcDq

This letter is communication between two countries' interior ministers, however I publish it, considering that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not object to its publication and considering the public interest in the content of this letter. https://t.co/TMxWwfl1KY

Finally, Dombrava's letter to his Spanish colleague has been published. Of course, one can read criticism of Spain and possibly even arrogance, because we offer to help guard the border, even though we ourselves have been muddling along for years with implementing effective solutions and continue to experience a lack of resources. But in this whole story, the prime minister's stance was what poured oil on the fire. Instead of answering journalists that Latvia considers strict control of the EU's external borders very important, he chose to 'push the minister under the train,' saying that the new minister had overdone it. That, of course, is a political move by the prime minister against a competitor, while demonstrating softer migration rhetoric and thus hoping to attract New Unity voters. As always in politics, everything has its price. And the price of this incident could be that NA will not rush to support Kulbergs as the next government leader.

Interior Minister Jānis Dombrava (NA) has accused Spain of weakening migration policy and questioned the European Union's solidarity assistance in a crisis, according to the text of a letter addressed to Spain's Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska. Interior Ministry representatives say the letter is to be considered official working communication between officials, not a communication material, and called for this context to be taken into account.

@gatisliepin First, we need to wait for and read the proposals, not spread panic. Such visa availability will only apply to citizens of the EU, NATO, and a few right neutral countries. Any objections to investments from Canadian or Swiss citizens? Ah, yes, you're already talking about those kebab shops.

While still a deputy, Kulbergs achieved several proposals in the Immigration Law to restore golden visas. Now as prime minister, he continues to advocate for their implementation. After the elections, he hopes that together with Šlesers everything will be arranged as in the 'good old days'. https://t.co/7HivUDbMXv

@Azlems That's not about all aviation fuel, it's about the set minimum amount of admixture.

@AndrisKulbergs Thanks! PS. Nobody will buy that new fuel at 7000€/t :) PPS. Green hydrogen is just like green methane :)

@AtisPutnins If I didn't dig deep, if I didn't ask questions, but posed in photographs, then it would be. I don't have a cameraman or photographer on the team, as was already customary for Kariņš and Siliņa.

@AndrisKulbergs Andris, MP. You are doing this in order to get the maximum amount of information and put it to use, with the aim of improving the state administration's attitude toward business (I really hope I am not mistaken), society, and the easy, logical development of our country. Your detailed report confirms that it is not superficial. Support!

@Edgarsstragde Does anyone deny that the AS team was present at the meeting with residents? No, nobody denies it. I don't have the opportunity to be prime minister 24/7 and at the same time help the team separately in the pre-election campaign. Where exactly is the problem?

@VeritasMens @Oskarsfr Where exactly do I evaluate positively? I only expressed that he is one of the few who stands up for economic and national economy issues. Meanwhile, his party has gathered such a toxic mix that it's scary to watch. There can be nothing in common with Bartašēvičs & Co.

@Oskarsfr @AndrisKulbergs hard to understand how you can evaluate positively Ainārs Šlesers, because of whom the 2011 Saeima was dismissed, whose wife goes to Moscow for breakfast, whose cooperation with Moscow is obvious in business, politics, and private life, and finally his 'successes' as Minister of Transport.

Today’s Arria-formula meeting of the @UN Security Council provided an important platform to draw international attention to Russia’s grave and systematic violations of international humanitarian law against Ukrainian POWs and civilian detainees. I am grateful to Latvia and the United Kingdom for convening this important meeting and to all partners who continue to stand with Ukraine. The first-hand testimonies delivered at the meeting were deeply disturbing and impossible to ignore. They once again confirmed what UN mechanisms and independent international experts have documented for years: torture, sexual violence, cruel and degrading treatment, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detention, and sham prosecutions are not isolated incidents. They form part of a systemic policy pursued by Russia. We also highlighted the continued denial of adequate international access to places where Ukrainians are held, including in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the plight of missing persons who may in fact be in captivity, and the fate of those who have remained imprisoned since the beginning of Russia’s aggression in 2014. Accountability must accompany documentation. We must increase pressure on Russia, secure meaningful access for international monitoring mechanisms, intensify efforts to bring home all Ukrainian POWs and unlawfully detained civilians, and ensure justice for every victim. We will continue working within the UN and beyond until every Ukrainian held in Russian captivity is free and every perpetrator is held accountable.

@gatisliepin Gati, don't talk nonsense, friend! If you have nothing meaningful to write, then you shouldn't circulate probabilities and speculations just to get the audience's attention. You're better than this, I know!🤝

Return of the oligarch era. Kulbergs is ready to form a coalition with Šlesers after the 15th Saeima elections. Thus, by voting for Kulbergs and the United List, you are also voting for bringing Šlesers into the government and ensuring him real power.

@CerinsAivis State credit for business, most likely without any collateral, is a little better, but only a little. That's what banks are for. The state, okay, it also makes sense if it's R&D-intensive or something like that..

Entertainment or integration for third-country nationals? @gdavidsons To be completely precise, I asked the CEO. That money is not some gift from EU funds, but rather a so-called cheap loan. It will be repaid from profits.

@CerinsAivis I'm not talking about specific people, but the very principle of handing out gifts one after another to finance risky businesses (not particularly this one, but practically everything is relatively risky) is nonsense. It should be done if the biggest roads, railway, and, I don't know, a high-speed tram have already been funded.

🛡️ New Unity opposes expanding the 'golden visa' program. The board of the New Unity alliance firmly opposes proposals to expand the temporary residence permit program for investors, i.e., the so-called 'golden visa' program, or to ease its conditions. 'New Unity does not support expanding the 'golden visa' program. Latvia's security must not be subordinated to unclear economic gains,' emphasizes New Unity's candidate for Prime Minister, Arvils Ašeradens. New Unity will evaluate proposals for changes to the so-called 'golden visa' program based on whether they strengthen Latvia's security.
