From@partijaMMNJānis Hermanis and Daiga Behmane about the health system. Latvia's health system is built incorrectly - even in life-critical matters, patients who can afford it receive help fastest. This is an example that clearly illustrates how the state budget is poorly redistributed. https://t.co/6DEltwZTtn

🇱🇻 The security and efficiency of the justice system directly affect every resident of Latvia. Our priority is to create a justice environment that is safe, modern, and able to operate continuously even in crisis conditions. At the same time, investments must help prevent the causes of crime, reduce recidivism, and provide people with faster and more convenient services. That is why in the next period's investment portfolio, security, resocialization, digital resilience, and service quality are interconnected priorities. That is why we have identified an investment need of €140.4 million for the next EU funds period. Our priorities: 🔹 more modern and secure prison infrastructure; 🔹 less recidivism by strengthening resocialization; 🔹 cybersecurity and artificial intelligence solutions in the justice sector; 🔹 creation of a safe home for children and youth; 🔹 more modern forensic examinations; 🔹 development of e-case and faster digital services. ‼️ Do not spread complete nonsense. The Brasa prison is closed. And it is no longer a prison. The question on the agenda right now is what to do with this territory! Most of the buildings are demolishable and the place is excellent for creating important and significant buildings and services for the public in the future.
From@RaivisMillersThe desire to create a safe home for children and youth in a prison, as executed by @EdvardsSmiltens, is still epic... Epic, cynical and symbolic. https://t.co/hL9RpFVuAH

@RicardsMiezitis @liana_langa If you care about Dombrava having a high rating, then you must ask for his resignation. 😉
From@RicardsMiezitisI do not believe that the minister will properly investigate @liana_langa's hate crime. I do not believe that the minister will stop the circus, humiliating honest working immigrants with the police. I do not believe that the minister will start working for the benefit of the whole society. Resignation is a logical solution. https://t.co/BPWm30aWS8

From@Latvian_MFAFollowing her working visit to Ukraine 🇺🇦, Foreign Minister @Braze_Baiba spoke to @bbcworldservice's Newsday. She highlighted that Russia's blockade of Ukraine's Black Sea exports extends the impact of its aggression far beyond Europe, disrupting global food supplies and disproportionately affecting countries in Africa and Asia. 🎧 Listen to full interview

From@Latvian_MFA💬 “Within the European Union and NATO, Ukraine 🇺🇦 has no closer ally and friend than Latvia 🇱🇻,” stated the Minister. From 4 to 5 August, Foreign Minister @Braze_Baiba visited Odesa and Kyiv on a working visit to Ukraine, where she met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Foreign Minister @andrii_sybiha and other officials, and addressed Ukrainian ambassadors at the annual Ambassadors’ Conference. During the visit, the Minister reaffirmed Latvia’s unwavering support for Ukraine and emphasised that the consequences of Russia’s aggression extend far beyond Europe’s borders. 💬 “This is an attack on the countries of Africa and Asia and on the global food supply system,” stated Baiba Braže, highlighting the impact of Russia’s blockade of Black Sea export routes on global food security. In Odesa and Kyiv, the Minister discussed the security situation, support for Ukraine’s defence and Latvia’s practical assistance, including efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s energy sector ahead of the coming winter. 💬 “With its combat experience, innovations and technologies, Ukraine strengthens the security of NATO and the entire Euro-Atlantic area,” the Minister emphasised. 🔗More: https://t.co/rXaPnkVPyv Flickr album: https://t.co/NvtdVvduiG

Can we hope for a miracle during the pre-election period that five deputies will be found who will prepare a submission to end the housing compensation 'Eldorado'? https://t.co/RW1GPvYsoa
From@citskovskisjThe deeper you dig, the more shit and manure (paraphrasing Andris K.). Those Saeima deputy compensations smell bad. Deputy Teirumnieks (NA) from Rēzekne receives EUR 400 housing compensation every month. Wife Ērika buys an apartment in Riga in 2025 (official declaration). Under the Civil Law, the apartment is the joint property of both spouses. The deputy uses it (official declaration). Does Deputy Teirumnieks still continue to demand housing compensation from the Saeima in 2026? Yes. https://t.co/bkNLAYezp0 If all Saeima compensation recipients were thoroughly investigated, problems would be found for more than one deputy. If not legal, then at least moral and ethical. The compensation system was once created so that the place of residence of elected deputies would not affect their ability to perform deputy duties. Currently, deputy salaries are decent (Rasima and Teirumnieks receive EUR 4741 per month into their account; https://t.co/cOuqydLB1S) and in no way limit their financial ability to rent an apartment themselves. Isn't it enough with the guilty verdicts in criminal cases against deputies Adamovič (JV) for defrauding housing compensation and Kļaviņš (ZZS) for defrauding transport compensation? Listen, maybe there are 5 deputies in the Saeima who are ready to submit a proposal for amendments to the Saeima Rules of Procedure? While no criminal case has been initiated yet. Andris Kulbergs also knows several examples of possible manipulation of deputy compensations. But he is silent.... https://t.co/IzCdsqWbFO

Land, forest and waters are our values that must be used sustainably, without forgetting the quality of management and the principles of sustainability. At the same time, we must promote the production of higher added value from our raw materials, for example, processing more wood ourselves. @zalaisbarometrs I would like to express my gratitude for the constructive conversation.
From@Zemkopibas_min🤝 Minister of Agriculture Uldis Augulis today met with representatives of the environmental organization "Green Barometer" to discuss land management, nature protection and forestry development issues. https://t.co/MzIc4t5ncW

@inaraliepinaa Latvian Russians in general understand Latvian very well. Russian as the base language in discussion is 'showing its place' to the Latvian language. That is unacceptable.
From@inaraliepinaa@RaivisZeltits Use all opportunities to address Russians, maybe they will understand your ideas or start thinking. Of course, only in Latvian.

@janissilins2018 Roughly that - depending on voter turnout.
From@janissilins2018@RaivisZeltits People believe the ratings. Need to fight like the Progressives and KPV LV. At least 60,000 votes are needed, right?

The child must be at the center of the entire child protection system. That is why the role, responsibility and cooperation of each institution must be clearly defined. 🤝 The orphan's court should not be the first institution to become involved in solving family problems. Its main task should be to protect the rights and interests of children, as well as persons in guardianship and custody. At the same time, careful consideration should be given to which functions should be retained in the orphan's court and which could be provided by other institutions. I believe that a unified information system is also needed to identify risks in time and coordinate support for the child and the family. I met with Baiba Meldere on these issues. Thank you for her long-term work in the orphan's court, accumulated experience and valuable conversation!
Is it so very right that in the pre-election period @LRZinas interviews a person who is on Unity's election poster at Salu Bridge? I know he is not running, but Dombrovskis is also not running, who is now on every corner in Riga. Will Latvian Radio also interview him in the morning, in the evening, like a certain Briškens back then?
From@DaceZaI sincerely recommend - right now LR has an interview with Defense Minister Melnis. Almost in so many words he called Sprūds a bullshitter :)) Lovely!

As Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky especially thanked Baiba Braže for her visit to Kyiv, stressing that in such circumstances the presence of partners in Ukraine is particularly important.
