@Dr_Lapsa Exactly — all those elected will be locomotives. Whoever is not a “locomotive” will not be elected. Each candidate must gather their own vote quota.

@JazepsBasko Every party creates its own list. If JV has 3 Zariņi on the list, then they are party members and are included on the list. This is the current system. Calling those on whose fat those locomotives even move free riders is rather strange. When you change the order, will everyone be locomotives?

We are talking about the current electoral system. Who ends up being a stowaway is determined not before the elections, but by the voters with their votes. Usually stowaways are found on those lists that collect many votes because of a few prominent leaders. For example, in this Saeima at one point there were three Zariņi from New Unity, all of whom had more crossed-out votes than pluses. Would you want such Zariņi in the Saeima, or instead the best from the tops of other parties?

@JazepsBasko Which are the couple of people on your list and who are the stowaways? Strange assessment of electoral lists.

Mik, to press another political force to set red lines, when you yourselves (PRO) at the first opportunity jumped into the same boat with ZZS…😀.. well, that's quite two-faced.. We'll probably figure out ourselves, and (I assume AS too) without Your help, who we'll work with and who we won't. But it definitely won't be You.. also who we'll work with..:)

@CerinsAivis we cannot answer for others. But it would be dignified for any candidate to express their own and their list's opinion. Is a vote for the list possibly support for a government with LPV.

Both people and organizations can be divided into two categories – those whose reality is determined by external factors (”public opinion”, PR, propaganda, ”research”, ”expert opinions”), and those who shape reality. The vast majority of Latvian parties shape their decisions and rhetoric according to external factors. But that is an illusion, because it is not a genuine conversation with residents – pre-prepared opinions from left-wing and liberal forces are passed off as public opinion, while research and surveys are conducted by monopolists. It is a dance around emptiness that does not serve the people. It is a strange situation that in Latvia one public opinion research company has such great influence over political processes. I do not believe the ratings are fabricated, but a monopoly situation in politics is always dangerous. Moreover, whether parties will be invited to most public media programmes and debates currently depends on this monopoly. The way surveys are conducted ”in the field” is also important – often in the ratings we do not see people's reasons for giving the ”right answers” or their fears of naming a party that might be considered the ”wrong choice”. Political reality is shaped by will, not sociology. ”Austošā Saule Latvijai” is an organization based on principles and action, whose essence will not be determined by a public opinion background created by others. If we had listened to the ”background”, occupiers would not have been toppled, the ”Moscow House” would not have been closed, and Riga's streets would not have been Latvianized. If we had listened to the ”background”, we would not have gathered the party's founders, attracted additional members to run in the elections, and collected the necessary funds to start the campaign. Those same people who rang out that we would not succeed in founding a party now reproach us that our rating takes votes away from others. At each next level the reproaches become more and more absurd. If the ratings contain a grain of truth, it shows that we can attract part of the voters who had already given up the intention to vote in the elections. ASL will continue systematic and patient work, taking full responsibility for its real result, which will be known only after 3 October. Both as an association and as a party, our mission remains to be an uncompromising organization defending Latvian interests. Colourful bars on a TV screen will not change that. We will fulfil this mission independently of anyone, also after 3 October. Our conviction is that the stronger our party and its positions are, the more substantial Latvia's forces as a national state will be against Kremlinites, the left, and extreme liberalism. National, conservative, and without compromise. For the family, the nation, and the state! FOR THE REBIRTH OF A LATVIAN LATVIA!

@M_Jakobsons Here an international anti-corruption expert commission would be appropriate, with experience in how a well-functioning system should operate, and who can assess whether the work of officials has been carried out professionally and purposefully.

@martinsstals I just didn't understand what and who will audit? VK can conduct its audits as much as needed (and does). But regarding KNAB decisions or case progress, that is completely impossible, even theoretically. There is a court and prosecutor's office that examines/rejects cases, but does not 'audit'.

There are only those elected and those not. If you remove one of the elected, there is no mathematically stable next one — depending on which one is removed, the calculation for the next changes. In Malta they “calculate” by redistributing the votes given to those who vacated the mandate. In Ireland they hold by-elections for the vacant seat. In the Australian Senate, the party determines the replacement.

@JazepsBasko What, there's no one next? Does Parliament work with an incomplete composition if someone quits or what?

The main emphasis is that everyone in the Saeima will be equal, because everyone will be elected there on their own, unlike the current arrangement where they are elected on behalf of a party thanks to the pull of leaders. Under the Irish model, a minister does not give up their mandate, or they give it up and that's it — they don't get it back. In the Irish model there is no such thing as 'next in line'.

@JazepsBasko Under this system, will those elected to the Saeima be forbidden from becoming ministers? Or how exactly is it planned to ensure that top people don't drain away to the government? Moreover, part of society gets really annoyed whenever someone unelected is put in as minister. What about that?

@achevsenetnevse I agree with what you wrote🙂↕️ I remember, once at a work party, a friend 'Ģimon' told me - wow, I don't understand how one can not love this land, freedom and root for Russia. And Ģimons is a real Russian guy, moreover. Super dude🤟🏻

@CerinsAivis I think no one from your circle of acquaintances will vote, really. SV voters are TikTok, vatniks and anti-vaxxers. I don't think you communicate with such people :) In any case, one must go vote and yes, for some Russians that also looks terrible.

@achevsenetnevse My acquaintances among Russians say similar words🤝 We are all locals here who care to protect and cherish Latvia. There is no difference in the language spoken at home and among friends. Cheers!👏🏽

@CerinsAivis And regardless, exactly THEY are bad and enemies. Crimea belongs to Ukraine and we love Latvia, because it is our home. However, one should think a bit about what one says. Have a nice day!

@achevsenetnevse I'm interested in how you read that I call Russian-speaking people enemies. I neither think nor believe that. About half of my friends are Russians. Would anyone vote for the Stepaņi, who are an openly exposed orc cell in Latvian politics? No one. Well, maybe someone lies. I don't know.

@CerinsAivis As a reasonable person, I don't think that's anything terrible. The only thing is, I don't understand why you call all Russian-speaking people in Latvia enemies of our country. I speak Russian at home, I know your ex-wife, and I hope she doesn't think about all the people from Vangaži...

@miks_eu I agree, Bartaš's bunch of little green men is equivalent to fertilizer composition for the Stepaņenkos. Here, however, it is important to distinguish, in my opinion, a political-technological maneuver made by AŠ to gain Russian votes. Better let AŠ colonize them than let the orcs consolidate.

@CerinsAivis Aivis, the leader of LPV's Latgale list is the party leader whose member has just been convicted and sentenced to 5 years in prison for espionage for Russia. How can one not compare that with the Stepaņenko brigade? The party leader, whose members spy for Russia and sit in prison for espionage, will sit in the Saeima.

@achevsenetnevse I haven't hidden that I worked in Russia, also a year after Crimea, where I was with a UA/rus project. I really wanted to return there. Then I asked the partners, who in my view at that time were Russian intelligence, the question - who does Crimea belong to. After 'Crimea is ours' our cooperation ended.

@CerinsAivis Listen, I only see your disgusting expressions, but how pleasant was it for you to film with orcs in their TV ad (2015-2016)? Already after Crimea. Was everything okay?

“We change the rules” (list No. 2) is the only party that advocates for changing the election procedure. To vote for people who will work in the Saeima — contrary to what happens now, when we vote for a few people who will leave the Saeima for the government and drag anonymous hangers-on into parliament in their place. But that is only one of many points in our plan to restore democracy and strengthen civic responsibility in Latvia. The threshold for initiating a referendum — 25 thousand signatures, smaller electoral districts (5-7 mandates each), independent candidates, the Irish model also for municipal elections, genuinely binding municipal referendums, the possibility to restore abolished municipalities, municipalities having a say over government whims, repealing the party financing law — that is already in the program. Freedom of speech as a foundation — that is in our values. Radical advocacy for representation of the whole society in the socio-political offering of public media (with several editorial offices or by changing the funding model) — why not! A popularly elected president, not a side effect of forming a coalition, with the power to nominate candidates for the highest offices, so they don't have to run around with parties — why not! We are not coming to settle in. We are not coming to even out the distribution of feeders. We come to write new rules. For ourselves and everyone else. We trust the people, who have the final word.
