Peat plays a vital role for our plant growers. We discussed the future of the peat industry with the chairman of the Latvian Peat Association, also in the aspect that horticultural peat is actually a strategic resource for horticulture and forestry needs. https://t.co/BwEsQVG88t

Latvia will have a full-cycle artillery rocket production facility. Today I received confirmation from Native Trading Co. LLC for the implementation of the project. It will be one of the largest new investment projects in Latvia's defense industry – up to 90 million euros. 🇱🇻🛡️ https://t.co/1Ir1kk670B

Help must be provided when it is needed, not when convenient. Thanks to the Saeima's State Administration and Local Government Commission and @burovs_olegs for the prompt analysis of the situation and solutions for assistance after the floods in Talsu municipality. If farmers have suffered irreversible damage due to heavy rains, please inform the Rural Support Service.

❗️The refusal of the Russian language in public media, advanced by the Saeima and substantiated by @Satv_tiesa, is compared this morning on @LatvijasRadio's airwaves to ethnic apartheid and elite obscurantism. 🇷🇺Not Mamikins, not Rosļikovs, but @RigaStradinsUni and @ArtAcademy_LV professor Hanovs. @IKVD_gov_lv #divvalodība

Hello! The comparative figures are at average incomes, e.g., tax wedge. The tax burden in Latvia can vary from 31-44% of total labor costs (this is affected by the size of the salary, because Latvia has a progressive tax system). ⬇️

Manipulation. Incomparable figures, either give both amounts as averages or both from the range. I understand that the aim of the publication is to defend high taxes. It turns out that this year the social budget has a projected surplus of 448 million, which the government uses to cover the deficit, rather than for pensions, benefits, or maternity pay.

MMN is not against NGOs. But whether your NGO is truly needed and productive for society can be easily checked. By public support - both in donations, and in selfless participation and volunteer support. Then there will be a clear picture of whether that thing makes sense.

NGOs and Rail Baltica are the same scheme. Come up with a noble project so that a small group can then saw off state money. The result is the same. In the case of Rail Baltica, it's done by builders and officials; in the case of NGOs, by smaller-scale swindlers. It's very interesting that they are most defended by JV/pro media. I completely don't understand why? A riddle.

❌ ALL BOUNDARIES HAVE BEEN CROSSED HERE!!! Disgusting, to say the least! First, left-liberal "journalists" have called us @LatvijaPirmaja pro-Kremlin!!! If you call yourselves "journalists", I expect proof from you! If there is none, then at least pretend to be professional journalists and write facts, not your unhealthy fantasies. Second, the left-liberal president throughout his entire interview did not once rebuke such remarks, which were made repeatedly! Mr President - you are such a diplomat to us - at least that's how you position yourself, or is diplomacy applied only in one direction - in your convenience? @edgarsrinkevics P.S. When journalists from "IR" wanted my comment on, in my opinion, a book unsuitable for small children, I did not answer them at all, because I do not communicate with such one-way "journalists". I have long known their direction.

Article 19 of the Prosecution Law grants a prosecutor the right to file a protest against legal acts adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers that do not comply with the law. We demand that the government return to considering the Prosecutor General's protest in the timber industry case. https://t.co/WJJ5LcoEKR https://t.co/GvFiOpvTDv

“New Unity”, taking into account both what has been publicly heard and the information provided by the ministers of the party alliance, demands that the government return to considering the Prosecutor General's protest in the so-called wood industry case, inviting the Prosecutor General to an open consideration of the issue. The Ministry of Agriculture, when it had previously proposed that the government decide on support for the wood industry, provided misleading information to the government. In connection with what happened, a pre-trial investigation continues.

@Mkaprans You have confused the state with society.

Every time our society has needed to do something that state power could not or did not want to, [..] it has founded an organization. Not because it would be a contribution to the state economy. But because otherwise it doesn't happen. https://t.co/yVUw1kJEy4

@pukshishinsh @Bertaane @eliina_balode Interesting, why did PRO and JV vote AGAINST revoking Aven's citizenship, and NA and AS were the only ones FOR? It feels like you are living in illusions🙃

@Bertaane @LLatviesiem @eliina_balode Complete nonsense. We are the biggest opponents of Aven. No wonder the place is full of PRO bots. The National Alliance makes porcelain exhibitions for him and covers him. Šlesers surely sits, ZZS, NA and JV don't want to revoke citizenship.

Truly masterful. Exactly like with Istanbul. If you are not for, then you are for beating women — if you are against NGO handouts, then you are against civic society. Against the association that made Latvians a political nation. An anti-state traitor, to put it in three words. Kulbergs is a good guy for starting to kick that hornet's nest, but he lacks support and an ideological base. Leftism cannot be defeated with leftism. The redistribution problem will not be solved by a naive hope to decide who does the right things and who obviously does the wrong ones. The distinction between where public money is spent and where it isn't does not have to be based on the rationality of the expenditure. It has to be based on whether it is a state function and whether there is real competition for performing the function. If it is not a state function, we forget about it. Association or its promotion is NOT a state function. Tune in tonight at 19:00 for the first live stream of @partijaMMN on Facebook. We will talk about this parasitism.

What would Latvia look like without civil society? Nowhere. It would be Vitebsk Governorate or the Latvian SSR. Equally great a loss would be the unattained ability of the Latvian people to act together. On the role of civil society and NGOs in Latvian history.https://t.co/Flq4vk5308

Alvis Hermanis on the NGO business. NGOs, with the word 'non-governmental' in their name, deny their source of funding. The Latvian state can no longer afford to take on the role of an ATM and fund anyone whose social and public ideas seem most superior. https://t.co/3zG3Xx10fc
