The government should have made a political decision and sent a clear message to the public - we will act against the potential squandering of millions in the wood industry scandal. There was a clear basis - the prosecutor's protest. Instead, NGOs are being chased over a few dozen euros 🤷‍♂️

The Second World War was followed by a half-century-long occupation as the geopolitical consequences of that war. Thank you to all the people who fought for Latvia's independence during the Awakening and did not believe that the consequences of WWII could not be 'opened back up' and 'filled in'.

Today, Ukraine's long-range sanctions successfully struck important targets in Russia's Krasnodar and Stavropol regions – logistics hubs involved in supplying the Russian army with drone components, navigation equipment, and other gear – as well as another oil depot. In the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, a tanker and four cargo ships from Russia's shadow fleet were also hit. We thank all our warriors in Ukraine's Defense Forces for these results. We are, quite justly, bringing the war back home – to Russia. Peace is needed, and Ukraine has presented the Russian side with every proposal. They must be forced to turn to diplomacy. Glory to Ukraine!

Last night I had terrible insomnia, I had to get back to reading the commentary on the Constitution. There is no greater demagogue and gaslighting specialist than constitutional law experts. 2+2=5, they say. Or 4, as in this article. Because here you have to look more broadly. But here on the other hand it comes out to 3. Otherwise the house of cards collapses.

🇱🇻✅ The extended program of New Unity for the 15th Saeima elections has been published. In the program “Strong Latvia in a Safe Europe” we have detailed specific works and solutions in the ten most important areas for Latvia's development – from security and economy to health, education, science, regional development and rule of law. The candidate of New Unity for Prime Minister @aseradens emphasizes: “Our goal – a strong Latvia in a safe Europe. We have set concrete tasks that will strengthen national security, promote economic growth and improve people's quality of life across Latvia.” The head of program development @ZKLukasevica notes: “The backbone of the program is our values and basic principles, while its content is based on people's experience, data and concrete work needed for a strong Latvia in a safe Europe.” The program was developed in broad cooperation with experts, entrepreneurs, non-governmental organizations and citizens across Latvia. 📖 Read the full program: https://t.co/FAqA7FIz1G

If the decision by @Brivibas36 was made based on misleading and distorted information, it must be overturned. The fact that the money has already been transferred is not a reason to defend and protect what was previously decided. The government's refusal to comply with the prosecutor's protest is neither legal nor justified. https://t.co/k0shAVVrxE

The latest PMLP data on residence permits for third-country nationals have been updated. We see exactly what we see on the streets of Riga and other Latvian cities - the number of immigrants from India and Uzbekistan is growing rapidly. Some recipients of temporary residence permits become holders of permanent residence permits, deepening the immigration burden on Latvia. Regardless of the government's flashy rhetoric before the elections, the declaration of the Kulbergas government expressed an intention for a 'controlled increase in immigration'. When the 'Titanic' has hit an iceberg and begins to sink, talking about a controlled inflow of water into the ship's hull means the same - the ship is sinking. Latvia exhausted its immigration quotas already during the Soviet colonization era. We must not repeat the mistakes of Western European countries. 'Austošā Saule Latvijai' @austsaule is the only party whose program provides for a reverse process - promoting the departure of third-country nationals. Soon we will publish a detailed plan to reduce immigration to Latvia. We must address the causes, not fight the consequences. For family, nation and state! For the rebirth of a Latvian Latvia!

Here, though, Reinis mixed up flies with raisins a bit. According to what he presented, it comes out that the state first says which sports it wants to fund and then finds NGOs that will organize and provide them. Reality is completely the opposite. NGOs are established among enthusiasts and then they come to the state to be recognized as sports federations. Latvia has delegated this recognition function to LSFP (another NGO), but with the note that the recognition criteria are set by the state. After recognition, of course, there are specific functions that these federations must perform. Moreover, every sport will always be regulated by the international federation, not a local or any other department. And in conclusion, a bit of irony - if the state had entrusted sports to NGOs, then in the Sports Law we would only need one article with this delegation. :)

Here there is a nuance. Sport is an industry that the state by law has entrusted to NGOs (sports federations) to organize. And it provides funding for it. Otherwise the ministry would need 94 more departments to regulate each sport. https://t.co/2n1NsXxuzV

@ineselibina Shall we open the topic about the botch and the ex-Minister's responsibility in these Unity Evika Siliņa government decisions, your opinions and their quality in the context of this scandal? About the received inheritance, its causes and consequences that the new @AndrisKulbergs government now has to deal with? https://t.co/o8i4dR2Kxi

Severe personal disappointment and a legal botch. Very weak, Mr. Prime Minister. I cannot believe that what was said has a non-political approval from @Tieslietas! https://t.co/XujfSAfZBo

During my government's tenure, we made a long-awaited decision to significantly increase state support for guardians and foster families, because it was important. The remuneration for performing guardian duties, which had not been changed since 1996 (!), has been increased from €54.07 to €298 per month. The child maintenance allowance for a guardian is now €390 or €468 per month depending on the child's age. Foster families also receive €298 for caring for one child instead of the previous €171, while specialized foster families' remuneration has been increased to €1560 per month. From July 1, 📍specialized foster families also have access to additional practical support – health and civil liability insurance, a respite service, and new support for families caring for children with behavioral or addiction problems. https://t.co/sBYzNg6neI This is not just a question of benefits. If a child is left without parental care, he or she must have the opportunity to grow up in a family environment – with relatives, a guardian, or a foster family. Limited financial resources must not be the reason why a family member cannot take on the care of a child. I am proud that this decades-awaited step was achieved precisely while forming last year's budget, agreeing on a priority – support for Latvian families and demographics. @Jauna_Vienotiba

Grigorijs Rozentāls, MMN's 2nd candidate in the Kurzeme list on fundamental deep cleaning. One of MMN's program main points is a deep cleaning of the state administration.
