From@andrislovKulbergs will build Rail Baltica for 10 billion and spend 300 million a year on maintenance. Mr. Kulbergs, just not at my expense. Show the money first, and then build. Show the money. https://t.co/gjdWugIHa3

Budget: Posts and News mentioning Apvienotais saraksts
Political posts and news in Budget that mention Apvienotais saraksts, from monitored Latvian public sources.
From@maijaroze_@Apvienotais_ Before @AndrisKulbergs came to power, he said quite clearly that the Rail Baltic project should be frozen. There is neither economic justification for it, nor can taxpayers afford it. Why has the coat now been turned the other way? Those €10BN would be better used for building 4-lane highways.

Andris Kulbergs: "I don't want to be unprepared"
@ainarsgrieze @no_trona @dabrelis @AndrisKulbergs Only a part of the confiscated is taken out. Less than half. The rest are sold off and the money goes to the budget. So it's not as if everything:
From@ainarsgrieze@no_trona @dabrelis @poznaks @AndrisKulbergs This is my usual sore point, a local-scale sore point, local. They export everything, we get nothing ourselves.

From@lobetajiWill anyone be held criminally responsible for this? These are approximate costs because this is concealed from the people. There is more money than ever...... @AndrisKulbergs @RaivisZeltits @miks_eu @Lato_Lapsa @KNL_LTV1 https://t.co/dRXJaTFceZ

From@GintsWeber@AndrisVelps @IvoSavics @KNL_LTV1 @JanisDomburs @AndrisKulbergs Very inspiring — the foam-plastic lover, Kargina's reject @guntarsv, who screamed on Twitter "hold me 7, I'll tear all public money spenders to pieces," now a sweet tomcat — that's all for the teachers.

MPs reduce the excise duty on fuel and themselves admit that it is too little.
From@AndrisKulbergsLatvia's overall financial situation is an exact mirror of AirBaltic - we live off borrowed money, there is no income, and we simply spend. If we continue like this, at some point we will be right where AirBaltic is. Read the full interview below ⏬️ https://t.co/5XsCOauXWX

From@guntarsvOn Elksniņš's office door, which every Daugavpils economic manager sees before the morning meeting, is @aseradens. The minister knew that next year a budget crisis would set in. He knew where their own tradition of squabbling would lead, but he slipped off the stage, so now others have to swallow what Vienotība cooked up🫠

In such an intense, sensitive pre-election period, the budget cannot be "opened up", says Andris Kulbergs, noting that "the system resists" and that it is not possible to review expenditures in detail within four months.
From@KNL_LTV1“We are all together a party of economists, centrist-conservative,” says Andris Kulbergs, describing the ideology of the “United List”.

Registered unemployment in Vidzeme is lower than the Latvian average: 4.1% versus 4.6%. People are working. However, last year the average gross wage in Vidzeme was €365 per month lower than in the country as a whole. That is why our goal is more well-paid jobs in the regions. For the UNITED LIST, the priorities are clear: security and the economy. A secure state gives entrepreneurs confidence to invest. Orderly state finances allow investment in development. Our task is to ensure that investment and better-paid jobs also reach Vidzeme and other Latvian regions. A person should not have to leave their municipality to receive decent pay for their work. 💶 Video: LTV Vidzeme leaders' debate “Choose the Future!” (24.09.)

From@guntarsvOne of the largest taxpayers in Latgale and specifically in Daugavpils is 'Latvijas maiznieks'. On a Latvian scale, every third 'loaf' comes from Daugavpils. And right now they are investing another 15 million in expanding the plant. Every plant is a valuable contribution to the Latvian economy! However, there we almost had to rewrite Elksniņš's state finances. At minus 20 degrees you would sign more than that. That was the option he mentioned...😅

@Bertaane Europe has set a minimum threshold below which a rate may not be set. We may increase it as much as we want.
From@Bertaane@Krusts3 I understood neither you nor Kulbergs. Each country sets its own VAT rate. Europe sets regulations.

Whatever puzzle pieces there are, we'll have to put the picture together with those.
@ruuzis @snurosnare @guntarsv I think it's a regional effect. But overall, exports are the only thing that makes us wealthier. Everything else is redistribution of existing wealth. Even though in reports that redistribution shows better numbers. If there is no export, there will be nothing to redistribute.
From@ruuzis@poznaks @snurosnare @guntarsv Good argument, I hadn't thought about that. Of course, we can't easily calculate how much local consumption money per person the Regulation frees up, but intuitively it's clear it's not zero. I just intuitively also expected an advantage in taxes - on average 2k per year per person for such a company seems little.

@ruuzis @snurosnare @guntarsv The difference is that Depo redistributes local money. Moreover, selling imported goods for which money is counted away. Regula basically exports. So it brings money into Latvia from abroad. Although Regula pays less in direct taxes, it overall makes us wealthier more than Depo.
From@ruuzis@poznaks @snurosnare @guntarsv But somehow strange that Depo one employee contributes more to the budget. Obviously I don't understand something or can't at the moment, but those numbers are what they are.
