Unpleasant forecast for Kulbergs' supporters: “United List” could split soon
Will Kulbergs and the “United List” control all ministries? Latvia’s future under a minority government
Alcohol is one of the main causes of premature death among residents; will it be restricted even further?
From@IIndriksoneWe must continue implementing the plan to restrict immigration. Education and culture are also important to us, as well as more effective public administration and economic growth, including our proposal to create a unified Ministry of National Economy. We are currently awaiting the offer from AS and A. Kulbergs. https://t.co/LtmQWLVMfn

The government has agreed to give the "basics of family health" an ideological orientation.

JV sees AS, NA, and the Progressives as potential partners in the new Saeima.
“New Unity” would also like to see “The Progressives” in the government.
What will we cut? Trade unions fear the new authorities' plans to cut spending at any cost.
There is no drama here. I have a good relationship with Česlavs, we have discussed education a lot. Mostly on the same wavelength. At the time he was also an excellent principal at the school where the children go, all due respect. What I saw in the budget expenditure review group is a separate topic. The control of how funding is used is below any criticism. And when all ministries buckled down and brought savings, when defense spending needed to be raised to 5%, the Ministry of Education and Science put its feet up on the table and got a free pass. That is not good, not good at all.
From@evita_purinaAS is Guntars Vītols from FM with this view on the school network, and AS is Saeima Education Commission chair Česlavs Batņa with the view “We must understand that education will not be profitable. Closing schools is obscurantism.” https://t.co/uaj4DiBFmS

@ar_mazo_r @guntarsv @Kuskis exactly. The easiest is to cut where the opposition is the weakest.
From@ar_mazo_r@Elina_Treija @guntarsv @Kuskis who doesn't count pennies.. SIFI, KKF, theatres, etc. are also pennies! If there are no pennies – stop all construction, reduce hospitals until you can't get inside, cut child benefits entirely, don't give students state-funded places, close nursing homes, etc. But those non-pennies turn out to hit the weakest.

@ar_mazo_r @guntarsv @Kuskis Already closer to the bloody truth What is at stake? 🩸whether to separate entertainment from culture 🩸school network 🩸hospital network 🩸healthcare basket & mandatory health insurance 🩸how to align EU directives with the principle of less state 🩸children — universal vs support only for the poor
From@ar_mazo_r@guntarsv @Kuskis If we're already talking about cutting 'free services', why stick to half-measures? Throw all students out of state-funded places, pensioners without indexation, abolish old nursing homes, emergency care and firefighters—only for a fee. That would be real 'Mileja' courage, not half-measures.

The National Alliance is ready to continue working in Kulbergs' government; it sees no cooperation with LPV and the Progressives.
"A sign of a crisis of democracy": a political scientist assessed the record-low voter turnout in the elections.
🇱🇻 In these photos my son grows. And in a sense, so does our Latvia. Valters and I have a tradition. At every election, one photo at the ballot box. Always together. In the first photos he is very small - still in my arms. Later he is already standing next to me. Today he is already 14. And this time, looking at our old photos, one thought struck me: these are the last Saeima elections in which Valters is still standing next to me. In the next ones he will make his choice himself. With his own conviction and his own hand. Perhaps that is how time is best measured. Not in years, but in how the child we once carried in our arms grows into a person who will have to take responsibility for our Latvian state. Today I also made my choice - for people and a team that I trust and am convinced can solve the accumulated problems in security, economy, finance, education, health and other matters - for list No. 7, the United List @Apvienotais_ and the prime minister - Andris Kulbergs! @AndrisKulbergs 🌼 But regardless of what your choice is, go and make it. Because election day is not only about politicians. It is about all of us Latvian patriots, our families and Latvia, which one day we will fully hand over to our children's hands. Today our hands are still together at the ballot box. Next time - everyone will already have their own voice. 🇱🇻
He is Latvia's Trump! Lithuanian media have published an extensive analysis of the elections in Latvia.
From@sviestadesa@beajonite @Progresivie In the United List there is a candidate Batņa, who as a secondary school principal started a relationship with his school's 11th-grade student. He left his wife and children. His ex-wife was a conductor for our choir and we all knew this story. Now he is a saint and is running for the education minister's seat.

From@AndrisKulbergsHOW CAN ONE NOT PROMISE! - the classic once said 🗳️ PARTIES — WHO PROMISES MORE? Given this stark budget reality and the legacy left in state finances, where even borrowing up to the maximum 🇪🇺EU-allowed budget deficit limit is not enough, the pre-election promises of political parties stand out especially. They are no longer measurable in hundreds of millions — they are already measurable in billions €, moreover without financial coverage and without a real economic growth proposal. I have analysed the programmes of several political parties and summarised each party's promises in money terms for the period from 2027 to 2030. 🏆 The record holders of political "Promisers" for the next four years: 🥇 No.1 — Suverēnā Vara / Jaunlatvieši (Stepaņenko wants to give benefits, cut VAT, raise salaries): +3.61 billion € 🥈 No.2 — @LatvijaPirmaja Latvia First (@SlesersAinars – we reduce VAT on everything): +2.87 billion € 🥉 No.3 — @ZZS_ (@ViktorsValainis — promising to abolish VAT): +2.47 billion € 4️⃣ @Progresivie (@suvajevs — because money grows on trees): +2.1 billion € 5️⃣ @Jauna_Vienotiba (@aseradens — we continue borrowing endlessly): +1.56 billion € 6️⃣ @VL_TBLNNK National Alliance — (wants to fund language, education, culture and fight illegal migration, without thinking about the ECONOMY): +1.55 billion € 7️⃣ @Apvienotais_ — we will not promise what we cannot deliver, main focus on education that will pay off in the future, with justification of where we will take the funding: +763 million € When you go to vote - ask the question - HOW DO THESE BIG PROMISERS REALLY INTEND TO IMPLEMENT THEIR PROMISES, IF ALREADY TODAY THE STATE FINANCES HAVE A €420M FINANCIAL HOLE (already next year), WHICH MUST BE FILLED? And think about who left such a financial pit legacy

Data researcher, who has been campaigning for state budget funds for some hundredth day now, has lost in his data several lists that are also running for the Saeima. Including “Mēs mainām noteikumus” @partijaMMN would not be advantageous, because then the Apvienotības list would no longer look so good. https://t.co/9k3FJwPApz
