Let's call this a learning process - the film producers association is the first in 2026 to learn how what was said before the elections differs from what is done after the elections. In the association's pre-election debates, representatives of AS, JV, and NA publicly and passionately supported forcing streaming platforms to use Latvian-produced content. Now no longer. https://t.co/0I0YJBZ6Gn

Oh, and unrelatedly — does anyone know why Latvian society does not trust the Saeima, the government, and political parties? https://t.co/JzzFQQSXmV

@Braze_Baiba @VL_TBLNNK Thank you, this is important from the standpoint of cooperation with our strategic partner. Foreign affairs has a special role in building this cooperation. We will resolve matters with the Latvian film industry separately.

The red professor has put on a mourning ribbon and asks whether the state budget is now the prime minister's private wallet. The reason for the tragedy is that @AndrisKulbergs does not want to impose a 3.5 percent levy on streaming platforms, which would bring about six hundred thousand euros a year to the National Film Centre's coffers. Six hundred thousand—for that sum in Riga you can buy a moderately unsuccessful documentary about a bureaucrat's soul and still have some left for coffee during seminar breaks.

On support for the 🇱🇻 film 🎥 industry, we agreed with @AndrisKulbergs and @VL_TBLNNK at the Cooperation meeting on Monday, and the entire government coalition was united — it is necessary and will be ensured. But there is no need to fall out with our strategic security partner, the USA.

We must continue implementing the plan to restrict immigration. Education and culture are also important to us, as well as more effective public administration and economic growth, including our proposal to create a unified Ministry of National Economy. We are currently awaiting the offer from AS and A. Kulbergs. https://t.co/LtmQWLVMfn
