Very correct action from the Minister of Justice @EdvardsSmiltens This kind of situation is not acceptable in elections https://t.co/ujJUbSK5uj

A candidate for the office of Prime Minister of Latvia must not have hundreds of thousands of euros of unclear origin from Russia. Jūlija Stepaņenko has declared monetary and real estate donations from her father living in Russia worth 419,598.05 euros, but refuses to explain the origin of the funds. Therefore, I have turned to KNAB, VDD, SAB, and FID, calling for verification of the origin of the funds, possible foreign influence, and whether the money was used to finance party activities or pre-election campaigning. If funding from Russia has been indirectly channeled to the party, there is also grounds to consider possible criminal liability. A person who aspires to lead the Latvian government must provide the public with clear and verifiable answers. Latvia's political independence and national security are not a private matter. There must be no unanswered questions here.

Comrade Stepaņenko is, of course, a mud-slinger. However, the Ministry of Justice has NEVER, in any connection, been troubled by the declarations of a single official. That the gloomy Eddy now resorts to such methods once again confirms—the United List is the same cancer as Unity. Remember that at the elections—or don't be surprised.

@mansviedoklis1 @AndrisKulbergs @ivchix The Prime Minister got confused, humanly forgivable, given the workload that most of us could hardly handle. Including me. But politics is an arena for mockery, it comes with the office, so now go ahead and sneer😏

@guntarsv @AndrisKulbergs @ivchix So in the prime minister's view, everything should be cut - emergency services, security services - because then 2 billion could be saved?

Remember Vineta Kutkeviča, former member of the Rīgas siltums council. Kulbergs' investigative committee found that her husband's company has been very successful in RS procurement and she left her post… to end up on the RAKUS council. @AndrisKulbergs when will this nightmare actually end?

It is not that it is incomprehensible, but it is very well understandable.

On 4 September in Carnikava, 6 children and a teacher suffered from dog bites. Today is 7 September, and the parents of the injured children turn to me saying that no one from the police has contacted them, and when answering calls, they are told to wait. Physical injuries, especially hematomas, disappear quickly, so it is incomprehensible why @Valsts_policija is delaying the ordering of forensic medical examinations for the victims, so that all physical injuries are fully recorded right now, rather than when a forensic examination is ordered and the experts will largely have to rely only on medical documentation. As I understood, @janisdombrava and @AndrisKulbergs promised to pay special attention to the event in Carnikava...

It was a nice event, I think it's almost a "must" for journalists, especially in today's geopolitical circumstances. I saw @jureits, @normundsbergs, @UldisCerps, Minister R. Melnis and a whole range of politicians and entrepreneurs. I didn't see @lsmlv though, nor did I notice the Latgale editorial office, nor did I find any coverage in Panorāma and the daily news. So I guess it's not important to foster a sense of security in Latgale and tell the public that Latvian entrepreneurs can produce a lot on their own. Interesting! 👍
