@KristineSl1532 @Progresivie if it had been deliberately timed for the elections, it should have appeared at least two weeks earlier. Now it can hardly affect the result anymore. If it had appeared a month ago - oh, then indeed!

@JurgisLiepnieks @Progresivie Be that as it may, but seriously? The day before the elections? I'm not saying that nothing happened, but such a coincidence, right before the elections...

HOW CAN ONE NOT PROMISE! - the classic once said 🗳️ PARTIES — WHO PROMISES MORE? Given this stark budget reality and the legacy left in state finances, where even borrowing up to the maximum 🇪🇺EU-allowed budget deficit limit is not enough, the pre-election promises of political parties stand out especially. They are no longer measurable in hundreds of millions — they are already measurable in billions €, moreover without financial coverage and without a real economic growth proposal. I have analysed the programmes of several political parties and summarised each party's promises in money terms for the period from 2027 to 2030. 🏆 The record holders of political "Promisers" for the next four years: 🥇 No.1 — Suverēnā Vara / Jaunlatvieši (Stepaņenko wants to give benefits, cut VAT, raise salaries): +3.61 billion € 🥈 No.2 — @LatvijaPirmaja Latvia First (@SlesersAinars – we reduce VAT on everything): +2.87 billion € 🥉 No.3 — @ZZS_ (@ViktorsValainis — promising to abolish VAT): +2.47 billion € 4️⃣ @Progresivie (@suvajevs — because money grows on trees): +2.1 billion € 5️⃣ @Jauna_Vienotiba (@aseradens — we continue borrowing endlessly): +1.56 billion € 6️⃣ @VL_TBLNNK National Alliance — (wants to fund language, education, culture and fight illegal migration, without thinking about the ECONOMY): +1.55 billion € 7️⃣ @Apvienotais_ — we will not promise what we cannot deliver, main focus on education that will pay off in the future, with justification of where we will take the funding: +763 million € When you go to vote - ask the question - HOW DO THESE BIG PROMISERS REALLY INTEND TO IMPLEMENT THEIR PROMISES, IF ALREADY TODAY THE STATE FINANCES HAVE A €420M FINANCIAL HOLE (already next year), WHICH MUST BE FILLED? And think about who left such a financial pit legacy

🔥The party "Latvia First" demands the resignation of Riga mayor Viesturs Kleinbergs🔥 Reacting to the scandal that has shaken the Riga City Council, the party "Latvia First" (LPV) demands the removal of Riga mayor Viesturs Kleinbergs. LPV accuses the chairman of the Riga City Council and his political force "The Progressives" of using the council apparatus and administrative resources to hurriedly get rid of its own party member Mārtiņš Eņģelis. Through an emergency council meeting hastily convened, Kleinbergs has tried to hide that the serious sexual crime scandal is not directly related to "The Progressives". Double standards and an attempt to hide from responsibility On 10 September 2026, Riga City Council chairman Viesturs Kleinbergs ("The Progressives") convened an emergency council meeting whose sole purpose was to quickly and urgently terminate the mandate of Riga City Council deputy Mārtiņš Eņģelis ("The Progressives") before the end of its term. Personal reasons and specifically "burnout" were cited as the official justification. The party "Latvia First" points out: the decision to terminate the deputy's mandate put forward at the emergency meeting is a blatant and cynical attempt by the Riga City Council leadership to distract attention, distance itself and hide the real reasons connected to the scandal that has shaken the public. This was done using the administrative resources available to Kleinbergs. "It is obvious that the party "The Progressives", as soon as it realised that the public would learn about the criminal tendencies of their own faction member Mārtiņš Eņģelis, hurriedly tried to sever ties with the "fallen" party member and distance itself from him as quietly as possible. The Riga City Council emergency meeting with a single item on the agenda is a blatant attempt by one political force to avoid responsibility, moreover involving representatives of other council political factions in this action, making them complicit. Using the powers of the Riga mayor and administrative resources, Viesturs Kleinbergs organised this emergency meeting to help his party avoid the compromising scandal before the wider public learned the whole truth. Kleinbergs must take full political responsibility!" the deputies of the LPV Riga City Council faction believe. Demand for real political responsibility LPV believes that in such a serious and morally unacceptable situation, responsibility must be taken by the party and faction leadership, as well as by the leader of "The Progressives" himself – Riga mayor Viesturs Kleinbergs. It was Eņģelis from among "The Progressives" who was once nominated for responsible work directly with young people – until his removal "due to burnout", Eņģelis chaired the Riga Youth Affairs Consultative Commission for more than a year. The party "Latvia First" stands for transparent and honest governance, strict morality in politics and categorically opposes any unlawful offence and the covering up of pedophilia in the Riga municipality! @AndrisKulbergs @Finmin You made it yourself and just left the FM logo in the corner of the presentation?

Unlike the other prime minister candidates, I do not have time to prepare for the debates, because I have to run the country and make very difficult decisions, such as today about the legacy left by Rail Baltica. What was shown in the studio was material prepared by myself, in which, in addition to the fresher information provided by the FM on state finances, I inserted my own analysis of all parties' irresponsible promises in programmes without funding coverage. I delve into the numbers myself and, unlike the others, we in AS do not intend to deceive the voters.

@tiklaTekla @Finmin @AndrisKulbergs Tables specially prepared by the Ministry of Finance for one party's parliamentary candidate for the purposes of pre-election debates are unauthorized use of administrative resources.

@pucej @Finmin @AndrisKulbergs is the prime minister; after all, he leads the ministers. So why should he not hold the ministry-prepared summaries? Do you think a rewriting function would add anything? Or are you simply itching for a fight?

🟥 BEFORE YOU THROW A STONE AT ANOTHER, LOOK WHETHER YOU YOURSELF ARE WITHOUT SIN. P.S. Regarding the former PROGRESSIVE Riga City Council deputy Mārtiņš Eņģelis, a submission has been made to the State Police about possible sexual relations with a minor and a possible violation of the Criminal Law. https://t.co/H9OaOeCcOv

Data researcher, who has been campaigning for state budget funds for some hundredth day now, has lost in his data several lists that are also running for the Saeima. Including “Mēs mainām noteikumus” @partijaMMN would not be advantageous, because then the Apvienotības list would no longer look so good. https://t.co/9k3FJwPApz

@IngussT @Progresivie @Martins_Zvejnks @Valsts_policija that, of course, would not be bad; then the entire government and all those involved could be summoned to court and interrogated, and we would find out, with no way to wriggle out, exactly how everything happened hour by hour. Unfortunately, they will not allow anything like that, no matter what anyone writes here.

@JurgisLiepnieks @Progresivie @Martins_Zvejnks @JurgisLiepnieks too many claims already, mentioning specific articles 159, 160, 161, 162 of the Criminal Law. There is no information from @Valsts_policija that a process has been initiated. Just hope he doesn't end up answering under Article 157 of the Criminal Law himself 🤫

The storm did not spare the border. There was extensive damage to the border fence. In the first days, border guards themselves and together with firefighters cleared the fence of fallen trees. After that, in cooperation with the NBS, temporary barriers were set up to cover the breached sections. The Ministry of the Interior managed to promptly secure Cabinet support for allocating funding to restore the fence. Afterwards, the Border Guard, in cooperation with the maintenance operator and the builder, is fully restoring the damaged fence. Despite the extensive damage, very soon all sections of the fence on the Latvia–Belarus border will be fully restored. Thanks to everyone involved for their work! In parallel with the fence restoration work, border guards continue to prevent illegal immigrants from trying to enter our country. In total, this year 11,699 attempts by persons to enter the country have been prevented. Photo: State Border Guard
