Both @EvikaSilina previously and @AndrisKulbergs now are saying that we cannot unilaterally ban the transit of Russian goods (including grain). Estonia apparently has a different climate, or they are fools who do not want to and do not know how to profit at Russia's expense. https://t.co/XCiNKBwB3v
Ponomarenko – persona non grata. Ragozin – persona grata. Both had/have residence permits.
In 2024, it was within the foreign minister's competence to include a RU comedian with a residence permit on the list of undesirables.
In 2026, including someone who repeats Kremlin narratives is suddenly no longer the foreign minister's competence.
Back then it was possible. Now she doesn't want to.
Could @Progresivie please remind us — if a man in a position of power seduces a minor, who is moreover an orphan and socially vulnerable, should that be called rape, or what is the correct term? https://t.co/IO4GyaiHkI

@liana_langa@Braze_Baiba Liāna, I think I do not need to convince you or anyone else about my principles in this matter. I am a member of Kulbergs’ association (I stress that) and a friend, too. Our attitude and scale of values are equivalent on this issue. What someone interprets or paraphrases cannot be controlled, after all.
Bjorka writes that the prime minister “does not divide by language...” Excuse me, what are those anti-constitutional messages from Bjorka in the company of the honourable prime minister? A desire to legitimise the consequences of occupation and Russification – de facto bilingualism? I assume that this question is important for a loyal voter; I urge you to state your position publicly! After all – the State Language Month has begun! #AtkrieviskoLatviju
Does the people's voice really carry weight?
We re-evaluated all ten responses received in the “Energy Thermometer” survey. We awarded maximum points for citizen influence only if a local vote, referendum, or other mechanism can determine the final decision. Being merely “taken into account” through a hearing or a promise is not enough.
Half of the assessment consisted of the real influence of residents and the municipality. We also assessed the protection of people, the environment, and the landscape, the developer's responsibility, and the feasibility of the proposals.
If scores match, the answer that gives residents greater direct influence over the decision on the particular project receives the higher place.
We did not assess which party is generally “better” or which is “for” or “against” wind energy. We assessed only what was written in the survey, using the same criteria for all answers.
The analysis used only the answers submitted in this survey — not party programmes, not public statements, not votes or past actions. The status of the answers also differs: four are officially approved by parties, two were prepared by a working group, and four reflect the opinion of a politician or candidate. This status did not affect the scores.
Read all the answers in full and draw your own conclusion:

@ltvzinas Why are such sensible Latvian parties as @austsaule and @JKP_partija not being allowed into the LTV debates? Yet Stepaņenko sits on a couch in the studio for hours, balancing on the edge of the criminal law in supporting the war against Ukraine! That is Brauna and LTV's editorial choice, which helps the Kremlin!

@IOnkuls@tikums Were you at our picket against the Moscow House or against Russian grain imports, so that you can now allow yourself to reproach us for diverting attention from some threats?
@RaivisZeltits@tikums Actually, there is. Especially when secondary threats are talked about MUCH more than the primary one, which is happening right here and now. Moreover, if the primary threat — Russia — in one voice with you says 99% of the same things (not only about Islam), precisely in order to divert attention.
🇱🇻 Latvia votes this Saturday!
Get to know our member party @attistibai, their lead candidate @ijabs and their priorities for Latvia. Good luck! 🎾 https://t.co/vA9Pvk0fNu
Riga City Council deputy Mārtiņš Eņģelis (Progresīvie) most likely lied about the reason for his resignation. The real reason could be the filing of an application by a minor orphan with law enforcement agencies about sexual harassment. https://t.co/9hiOKvq9Tm
The Saeima supports the establishment of the Sports Fund! 🇱🇻
In advancing the creation of the Sports Fund, my goal was to achieve clear priorities for the sports sector and a transparent, fair distribution of funding. Sport needs stable and predictable funding so that athletes, coaches and organisations can plan their work and development.
The Saeima has just voted +20 ‼️ million for sport over the next four years.
Thank you to all sports organisations, sports supporters and also the continuers of the idea started by our @Jauna_Vienotiba for the joint work in the name of the sports sector!

🎉Today the Saeima adopted the draft law “Amendments to the Law on Public Electronic Mass Media and Their Management”, meaning that Latvian public media will no longer produce broadcasts in Russian.
📍For me this is a significant day, comparable to the dismantling of the Victory Monument. Four years have passed and finally we have achieved something similar in the media environment. Both as a Saeima deputy and as a minister I have stood for strengthening the Latvian language and increasing national self-confidence, advancing the implementation of these amendments. The foundation of our statehood is the Latvian language as the only state language, and its status is enshrined in the Satversme. Moreover, the Constitutional Court has recognized that the state has a duty to strengthen the use of Latvian in the public space and to promote a unified Latvian information space. We ourselves must increase the significance of our language in a united Latvian society.

While working at the Ministry of Culture, we included in the National Security Concept that from 2026, content will no longer be produced in Russian on public media. Today the Saeima finally adopted the corresponding amendments. Public media will no longer use the Russian language. https://t.co/2W7ZClDTau
That from the party that bawls the loudest about the Istanbul Convention and literally viciously hunts "violent" conservative men, but what is happening right under their own nose it pretends not to see and moreover lies to the whole society. https://t.co/pdXVGaCMZR
Oh, how mighty, how terrible. Maybe first Mr. Smiltena could help the helpless @Braze_Baiba impose national sanctions on Russia's bloody grain, huh?😎😎 https://t.co/EGVVonGkQc

@StafeckaLiga Andris @AndrisKulbergs is on the board of @Apvienotais_. The documents have been submitted to the Company Register. They will probably soon appear in all databases as well.
@UldisVarnevichs Absolutely the vast majority of those who are raging there don't even know what it's about, for them it's more important to beat up some teacher, set buildings on fire and vandalize other people's cars - pure violence.
@AndrisVelps I partly understand French youth too - whoever you are, accepting that your country's education system is being sacrificed to everything except teaching you (something similar is also happening in Latvia), then you have to protest about it.
"US soldiers remain in Latvia and there are no plans to withdraw them," Defense Minister Raivis Melnis admitted this morning on @lsmlv after a visit to the US and talks at the Pentagon. During the multi-day visit to the US, he visited the Michigan National Guard, with which Latvia has long-standing, close cooperation, and met with representatives of the US Senate Armed Services Committee and high-level officials at the Pentagon. ➡️More: https://t.co/17ZG376oxz
@CerinsAivis Finally the pre-election battle has reached a truly popcorn-worthy result: daddy's gifts from Russia, a shiny tractor, not that kind of education, drunk driving - what else have I missed? Well done! And what else will today/tomorrow bring :)
