About women with children. We are ending the injustice allowed during the 90s. https://t.co/3iPXIVZaFr

💚 Raising a child should not mean a smaller pension in old age. Yet this is exactly the injustice that has arisen for some women who became mothers in 1991–1995. No social contributions were made for the period of child care, and today this is reflected in a smaller pension capital. Today the Saeima supported changes that will make it possible to correct this injustice — by making voluntary social contributions for this period, it will be possible to increase one's pension capital. The changes could affect approximately 10,000 women. Caring for children must not become a punishment in old age! #JaunāVIENOTĪBA #StipraLatvijaDrošāEiropā

Ponomarenko – persona non grata. Ragozin – persona grata. Both had/have residence permits. In 2024, it was within the foreign minister's competence to include a RU comedian with a residence permit on the list of undesirables. In 2026, including someone who repeats Kremlin narratives is suddenly no longer the foreign minister's competence. Back then it was possible. Now she doesn't want to.

🖍️I have decided to include Russian Federation citizens Artemijs Ļebedevs and Valerijs Ponomarenko on the list of persons undesirable (persona non grata) to the Republic of Latvia and to impose a ban on their entry into Latvia🇱🇻 for an indefinite period. The decision has been taken in accordance with Section 61, Part 2 of the Immigration Law.

Riga City Council deputy Mārtiņš Eņģelis ("Progresīvie") most likely lied about the reason for his resignation. The real reason could be the filing of an application by an underage orphan with law enforcement agencies about sexual harassment https://t.co/9hiOKvq9Tm

❗️ Recently I found an old newspaper in my garage — a 2010 issue that had been lying there for a full 16 years. 16 years — in that time a person can be born, grow up, and even finish primary school. And look, even back then Šlesers was considered an experienced, 40-year-old politician who had already spent a decade and a half in various state positions. Another 16 years have passed, and a miracle has happened — Šlesers has suddenly become a new face in Latvian politics. 😄 Well, enviable metamorphoses! Just like Benjamin Button — the more years pass, the younger he becomes. After a couple more elections, he'll probably be able to run for the youth parliament. Apparently, by this logic, Krištopans also counts as a young and inexperienced politician. But the most interesting part — the promises haven't aged much over the years either. The same old promises, just newer packaging. 😏

“There is a harsh reality that voters have very short memories. We are certainly not unique in that; it is the same in all democratic countries. But to consider Ainārs Šlesers a new face of politics — Šlesers, who has been actively and passively involved in Latvian politics since 1998 in various parties and their formations, while along the way trying not to pay the €752,500 fine imposed by KNAB for election campaign violations — we could confidently compete for medals in the world championship of shortest voter memory, if such a thing were to take place.” https://t.co/Yyza4Shok2

Ukrainian civilians in Latvia need clarity about their future status. Many Ukrainian civilians have been living in Latvia for more than four years. They work, pay taxes, and their children attend Latvian schools and learn the Latvian language. The draft law reviewed in the Saeima sets out clear conditions under which Ukrainian civilians who have long resided in Latvia could receive permanent residence permits. At the same time, a condition is provided that Ukrainian men who apply for a permanent residence permit would have to submit confirmation from the competent Ukrainian authority of exemption from conscription for active service. Clear rules and legal predictability are important both for people who are building their lives in Latvia and for our country as a whole. #APVIENOTAISSARAKSTS #MumsIrRisinājums #LatvijaMumsIrRisinājums #Ukraina #AtbalstsUkrainai #Saeima

Dear Latvian people - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE vote this arrogant Riga cow out in the elections so that not even a wet spot remains. Enough, the state is NOT a circus where you can earn your salary in the Russian special services in front of the whole nation!! Disgusting scum!!! https://t.co/bmVJAmkIxg

Artjom, thank you for confirming: the Interior Minister's route is legal. That most likely means a court, and the TV Rain case shows well how such cases end. Ragozin will appeal the very next day. Will the Foreign Minister include Ragozin on the persona non grata list? Yes or no? For the second day already, the Foreign Ministry cannot answer an elementary question. Which, of course, is also a kind of answer. By the way, does the surname Ponomarenko mean anything in this context?

@RihardsKols The Interior Minister has all the instruments to make such a decision himself, based on political and public security considerations. In such cases, the legal (Interior Minister's) mechanism is more appropriate, but for four months now the responsibility has been shifted. Lovely.

Russia will not succeed in intimidating us. Together with Estonia, we will continue to support Ukraine and ensure the aggressor is held accountable. Those who ordered the crimes must also answer for them. Ukraine's security is also Latvia's security. https://t.co/qXOFrZ8BlM

In Estonia, this process was led by their @Arlietas and Foreign Minister Tsahkna. Since @Braze_Baiba "cannot" include Ragozin on the "blacklist", it is clear that she "cannot" prepare national sanctions against Russia's bloody grains... Dark and well-founded suspicions arise that Russian influence agents in the Latvian government have brutally misinformed Prime Minister @AndrisKulbergs in this bloody grains case...

🟥 AGAIN BETRAYAL FROM THE UNITED LIST AND THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE! How can they vote like that and betray their voters – conservatives, supporters of the traditional family and Christians?! Is there really too little courage even to defend the traditional family formed by a father and mother?! You still have time to think about who you are ready to vote for! If they have no backbone on such an issue, how can we rely on them in other decisive votes?! What happened to the promises to defend Latvian values? Take a good look at the voting image with the deputies' faces and save it so that you have a CHEAT SHEET FOR THE ELECTIONS! Judge their actions and votes, not just sweet words! P.S. This was a vote on including the draft in the agenda of the Saeima sitting. AS deputies voted AGAINST or did not vote, while the NA deputies indicated in the minutes ABSTAINED.

Damn, I didn't hear what Līdaka shouted from the Saeima tribune just now, but as I gather, not all @ZalaPartija are for the Istanbul Convention and same-sex marriage like our “common” prime minister @AndrisKulbergs, but don't worry, dear Green Party members – nobody will ask you! That's what we have an alliance for. Likewise, @LRApvieniba members won't be asked what you want or don't want. You elected them, and they will decide. 😊

Unfortunately, today the meeting with forestry industry representatives that I and the new @valstsmezi board chairman Sandis Jansons had planned for the first working day has to be postponed - because there is an unscheduled Cabinet of Ministers working session and an emergency Cabinet of Ministers meeting. https://t.co/wQatm0hWX7 https://t.co/hbIOU2ce6t

The new chairman of the management board of @valstsmezi, Sandis Jansons, must address increasing the productivity of managed forests, boost economic indicators and strengthen cybersecurity. On his first working day at @valstsmezi, Jansons will discuss these and other issues with representatives of the forestry sector. https://t.co/YIvZF4lK3K
